Hong Kong Lamborghini Scene

Hello everyone. I was recently surprised and delighted to see that a couple of my photos were being shared and commented on in another thread on lambopower.com - the 'Ugly 'SV' thread. When I'm not working, a little hobby of mine is getting out and about and snapping photos of the amazing and interesting cars we have on our roads here in sunny (although not at the moment) Hong Kong. There's a huge supercar scene and many Lambo owners here and it seems the number is increasing each week. I regularly see Gallardos and occasionally Murcielagos on the roads and have been lucky enough to see three Countach's and also recently I was honoured to have a good look around an original black Miura. I have recently seen a few Balboni Gallardos and I know there are two Reventons here and one Reventon Roadster, but unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to run into them.

Now, apart from being besotted with the LP500S Countach when I was a wee lad, I haven't been a huge fan of contemporary Lambos, which I know isn't going to win me any friends here, but hear me out, as having seen so many on the roads here I have totally changed my tune. I don't think there's anything quite as memorable as seeing a Diablo or Murcielago in the metal and on the road they really do stick to what I believe are the true supercar principals, uncompromising, mid-engined, wedge-shaped and LOUD! Each time I see a Diablo or Murci it's a special event. As I mentioned, we have a blossoming Lambo scene in Hong Kong, so I thought you may be interested in the scene here where I live, which is why I'd like to share some of my photos with you.

On the forum, I will mostly post pictures with obscured or unreadable license plates (even though it is perfectly legal to do so, I do respect the privacy of the owners) but I have many more which I am slowly going through, blanking out the plates. Sorry if some of the photos appear to be of low quality, most of my sightings are point and shoot and obviously a lot of time the subject is moving, so it's basically a one chance shot most of the time.

Anyway, onto the pics. Enjoy!

One of my latest Lambo spots, this epic red Diablo:

Behind the 355 you can see one of the first Balbonis in Hong Kong. Since then I have seen another 2 or 3 on the road.

This Diablo with SE30 parts was taken in Macau, about 30 miles from Hong Kong:

A rare Murcielago 40th Anniversary

Don't worry, the chap in the photo is not causing any damage to the car, on the contrary he is merely accentuating the Biblical event of coming across a bright yellow Diablo VT on a Hong Kong back street:

Should the feedback be positive, I will be posting more of my Lambo spots (I have many more). Thanks for looking and a massive thank you to all the Lamborghini owners here in Hong Kong that always put a smile on my face with their pride and joys.

Love these two pics. Especially the color on the Gallardo. So classy.

Thanks and yes, I agree 100% that the blue Gallardo is a real head-turner in this colour. Unfortunately, my photo doesn't really do it the best justice. Owner was a pleasant guy too, he had no qualms about me taking the photo.

COOL first post! welcome!

Thanks, it's a pleasure to be here. A quick question - Am I able to edit my posts? I accidentally put the Singapore tag in the wrong place. It should have been for the Gallardos with the black license plates further down.

Unfortunately for some reason the 'EDIT' button does not appear on my posts. Do I have to have a certain number of posts or something like that?

EDIT: Huh, strangely enough it appeared on this post, but not in the OP. Weird?!

Nice!! it seems like Hong Kong is quite similar to Singapore..just that you guys have more those Countach and Diablos around..the number of GTRs in Hong Kong and Singapore seems to be equally high..

great post!

Cool pics!! Welcome to the site. Can anyone spot KWN in any of the pics? :lol2:

Black G-Spyder, right? Yes, I have a photo of a KWN from last week but haven't blanked the plate yet.

EDIT: Oh, haha! I was trying to be a smart-arse and it didn't work. This was the car I spotted:

btw, thanks for all the positive comments guys. I will continue to try and fill the thread with my Lambo spots. You can also see the other stuff on our roads by following the link in my sig. There may be a few surprises in there!

The powerlines on the left of the orange Diablo are there to power the construction sites building new casinos in Macau.

Okay, I'm going to post these pics even though the l-plates are not blanked. I just don't have enough time with work in order to get them done. Should any of the owners of these cars wish their photos to be removed, please PM me and I will take the picture off the forum. Thanks!

I think a lot of the Zonda F's reside in Asia. I have seen three here (and a Zonda R) in person and I know of more. Also the Zonda Cinques weres commissioned by SPS of Hong Kong, so I'm thinking quite a high % of Zondas are here, then factor in Japan...

I saw that purple Diablo (maybe not the exact one) on the Peak when I first came to Hong Kong in 1996, but not since. I have never seen that yellow one. Obviously I'm thinking the crashed one was a possible write-off so not much chance of seeing that around!

chrome gallardo is always cool

Yes, not usually my thing but I actually think this particular one looks pretty good. Great for Hong Kong too with all the neon lights we have reflecting off the bodywork.

Is the chrome wrap legal in HK?

Hmmm, you got me. I don't see why it shouldn't be and I'm sure if they wanted to pass a law against it, it would have taken longer to pass than the amount of time chrome wrapped cars have been around for.
