FYI when you delete your bank account from Paypal, it's not really deleted. They save the information. To confirm this for yourself, just add back the account. They will not require the verification process again. So, you should only link a bank account that has little money in it. If you add a credit card, only use one that provides a temporary virtual number.

 

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I think the moral of the story isn't that Paypal sucks, it's that we're all responsible for the security of our computers. I have a dedicated computer for all financial transactions. I do not surf the web or open emails on that computer, and do not install any programs except the bare minimum.
