  1. The boxes on flight Air france 447 had stopped broadcasting long before they were found (2 yrs after the crash). They were eventually found by sonar imaging with a deep-sea civilian submarine. It's not clear why it took so long to find them because I understand that the military had already searched that area right after the crash using a submarine dragging acoustic listening devices, and the search came up empty
  2. Agip used to sell it on their website, at least for North American customers. That's where I got mine a while back.
  3. I epoxied mine 2 years ago and it has held up pretty well. I used solvent-based epoxy instead of water based The only issue I have had is that it's impossible to drive the car onto a ramp now. Doesn't matter FWD or RWD. Even though I sprinkled flakes onto the epoxy to provide traction, the ramp just slides forward. That wasn't an issue over bare concrete btw I recommend waiting until the weather warms up before starting this. It won't cure properly under 55F.
  4. If he's found not guilty, he might still play again. People said the same about Ray Lewis.
  5. Do they have a pre-approval letter from a lender? if someone is putting down 5% in this market, they don't seem too serious. If they are serious, then ask for a large option fee that you'd keep if they are unable to secure the loan. That would would eliminate non-serious borrowers Everyone I know who has bought or refi'd in the past 2 years has downed AT LEAST 20%, and in 1 case over 50%.
  6. Maybe apply a high-temp primer first ? Not sure how long that paint will adhere to chrome
  7. Yellow cap is a lead acid battery, it's just constructed differently than regular starter batteries. They use thicker lead plates and space the plates farther apart so they're less likely to short a cell Deep cycle batteries are meant for boats, forklifts, golf carts, or battery abusers (people who leave their headlights on). Basically, things that are deeply discharged before the user recharges. If you're not one of those, a regular starter battery is fine
  8. In Calif, any aftermarket tint is illegal on the front windows or front windshield except for 100% clear UV-blocking film. But in reality, if you install a very light tint, it looks like factory tint from afar and they won't give you any trouble. There are modern tints like 3M Crystalline someone mentioned earlier that reject lots of heat while letting most light pass through. Crystalline is pretty expensive; there are other brands that work almost as well but are much cheaper. Suntek Carbon XP is one
  9. The only thing I can think of is the car wasn't level when he drained it and he didn't remove the filter. If the car is level, removing the drain plug will drain the majority of the oil. Removing the filter drains maybe 1-2 cups extra assuming the car is level
  10. If you have an artistic eye, design it yourself. You can buy software that helps you with it. Also look at some books/magazines that have landscaping ideas. I designed my own yard then paid a contractor to do the hard stuff like laying a brick patio and installing irrigation, and I did the planting myself. I recommend you spend extra to get a quality all-brass sprinkler valve. Those cheap plastic ones will break in a few years and it's a pain to replace them (ask me how I know). The all-brass ones last forever except for you'll have to replace the electric solenoid every several years (a simple task). The cost differential between plastic and brass valves is worth it.
  11. I don't think Israel's military even has the capability to destroy all the underground bunkers. They have the 5000# bunker buster bombs, and Iran knows this so I would expect Iran to have built the bunkers to withstand them. There are larger bombs but only the US has them and only the US has the aircraft that can carry them.
  12. It'll be a long long time before a 09+ MY gets into the low $100's. There werent many of them made, so the low inventory will keep a floor on prices. It's just like the general used car market now. Used cars from Lexus to Fords are selling nearly as much as a new one -- because so few cars were made in 2008-2010 that the market for 2-4 year old cars has too little supply, too much demand.
  13. It's good to check out the brakes, but it shouldn't need new pads at 15k. They should last to 35k pretty easily unless you're tracking the car. At 15k miles the front pads should have several mm left if it were driven normally

    Floor

It's only a few months old so I can't speak for longevity I poured water on it to test the slipperiness, and it's not slippery. The flakes create a high-friction surface. In fact it's much less slippery than the old concrete floor. IMO the flakes are a must, not only because they reduce slipperiness but because they hide imperfections like hairline cracks. You can also get a lot of different looks by using flakes.. like granite or marble even.
