fc2 Report post Posted November 7, 2011 Guys, I was driving the car last week and a deer jumped out and hit my passenger side mirror. Miraculously, there was no damage... except to the piece of metal which holds the mirror to the "stalk". This snapped leaving the mirror dangling by the wires. Does anyone know of a salvage yard where I might be able to buy a used mirror for my "06 gallardo? I'd prefer not to pay $1500 for the entire assembly just to get a $25 part. I've checked a couple of on-line parts shops and you have to buy the entire assembly which is way more than I need. Thanks, Frank

If you have someone try a weld it you might fae the problem of the pot metel like metel holding up. So your $25 part is not so much that. Good luck. NRG x Lambo Report post Posted November 7, 2011 wow. that's freaking crazy that ONLY the mirror got grazed off! it could have been a LOT worse or costly if it was the door or the fender...

fc2 Report post Posted November 7, 2011 wow. that's freaking crazy that ONLY the mirror got grazed off! it could have been a LOT worse or costly if it was the door or the fender... I am super luck nothing else happened. It was a full-sized buck with a full set of antlers and there was NO other damage. There was a tuft of fur under my passenger door handle, but other than that (and the mirror) nothing else. You're right... it could have been a LOT worse. Had I been a little slower I would have hit him full on. Of course, with this logic, had I been driving even faster, I would have missed him all together!! DickSimmons Report post Posted November 8, 2011 Um, doesn't your insurance cover this for the cost of the deductible? Few hundred dollar deductible is still less than $1500.

1quickBull Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Not sure which metal part you are talking about. Can it just be welded or is it not repairable? Post a pic.
