wildegroot Report post Posted January 11, 2012 Helping a customer sell his Gallardo. How do you determine the market value?? We've been fixing lambos for 30 years and have helped sell some. Have no idea how to determine a fair selling price. Advice? Where can you find selling prices? Sandy de Groot

wildegroot Report post Posted January 11, 2012 what's the color and options Black/black, 6-speed. Everything is pretty much standard. Is there a Lamborghini counterpart to the Ferrari Market Letter? What is Manheim? Do you have to be a dealer to use it? Just trying to help a customer figure out a fair asking price. Thanks - Sandy

wildegroot Report post Posted January 11, 2012 You say e-gear and 6-speed? Clarification? Best Uh oh... I'd have to get back to you on that! This I know, it has e-gear...and is a black spyder!
wildegroot Report post Posted January 11, 2012 140-145k..... Where do you get that from? Can you look it up somewhere or is this from studying asking prices all over the place? Is there a place that lists values...like a KBB for exotics??
Assman Report post Posted January 11, 2012 Where do you get that from? Can you look it up somewhere or is this from studying asking prices all over the place? Is there a place that lists values...like a KBB for exotics?? fikse is saying that because on this site most of the long time members have a good idea of the general market due to having friends that have bought/sold recently, or having bought sold ourselves recently. There is no good source out there to nail down a price. You could use autotrader and cars.com to set your asking price. If you are not going to be the selling agent then there are sponsors of this board that will consign sell for reasonable prices and great service like exoticcarsearch or catsexotics or premier exotics. They'll well advise you about the best prices as they know probably the best what these cars are bringing. The problem with manheim is the prices at the auctions really don't reflect the current market.

I think he gave you about every avenue to get the most for your customer, and I also think Fikse is correct on his assessment. Best of luck! PS- If it has an e-gear it is a paddle shifted manual. When you list for sale or pass sale information on saying 6-speed tends to lead people in believing it is a true manual six speed and the last thing you want to do is provide confusing information to buyers. No reason no worry customers trying to $100-160K on a car.
wildegroot Report post Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks for the excellent advice guys! We are actually the consignee, just trying to get a handle on how to research market values. Appreciate all the info and the clarification of 6-speed vs e-gear. I'm the office person, not a mechanic. ^-^ Sandy
jhbchess Report post Posted January 21, 2012 Some general rules of thumb, Spyder's seem to list about $10k more than coupe's for the same year and options. E-gear seems to list for about $10k more than 6 speeds. So a 2008 E-Gear Spyder in a skittles color (orange, yellow, etc) with 10k miles I have seen listing for $145k-$149k and a 6-speed for same year $135k-139k. I'd expect to negotiate up to $5k off the price and/or get some maintenance or tires chipped in from the dealer. Manheim is manheim auction data, dealers and some others can access them. It's a wholesale auction price without comment on quality and maintenance and will have prices below what you would see for same year/model at a retailer like Lamborghini Houston, Lamborghini Dallas, etc etc. For pricing purposes, I'd suggest you go look at some authorized retailer websites and find similar year/miles/color combos in a coupe and use that. Also check out www.catsexotics.com, Roy Cats has top shape cars at good prices.
