VCR Report post Posted March 17, 2013 Do you guys have a personal import rule? e.g. If you were to live overseas for a certain period of time and purchased a car while overseas could you import it into Canada upon your return and be exempt from DOT compliance ? Not really: the non-compliance only applies to a non-permanent resident and is only good for 6 months.
