LV Eric Report post Posted March 1, 2014 This is about the dumbest question I might have ever asked on a message board. As some of you here know I been a Lambo guy for years 15 to be exact as a owner of a Lambo, Sadly not longer. Some day i'll tell my story of what turned me on to Lambo's in the first place-I dont reacll ever posting that. Also as some might know I got real sick with a bad back and fell out of the scene since 06, I kept all the Lambo's exceot my Murci and one Countach. I havent driven some of them in years and one has never been driven, a 25th anniversary countach. its brand new. Sorry to bore those who know my story but some people here dont know and I wanted to inform them about me, I waited for a aventador, I didnt want to get the first couple model years, i did that with my Murci and and a few Gallardo's and they had issues. Same with the early Diablo, they were not the best. I noticed this with pattern with new model's Lambo. So I waited for a couple years. Finally I got a Aventador a few months back. I have driven it 50 miles. I really like it. It has almost 100 miles on it now. so on to my questions: Whats a test pipe? I have always like loud obnoxious, bright color Lambos that piss off most people. I have always put exhaut systems in my cars, my SE 30 is enough to make you deaf, I have a feeling I can do better with the Aventador. I been reading here about all sorts of exhaust systems, looked at youtube and listened to everything I could find. I dont know what to do, is a test pipe the loudest solution? does it throw codes? and whats it do to performance( isnt some back pressure a good thing). I dont want to slow down the car for the sake of sound, I want to go faster and make more noise and piss off everyone possible. I have been reading here lots and cant figure it out. Hence the stupid question. Whats the solution? can I make more noise and go faster or is there a trade off? I would appericate some insight,I been out of the loop[ for years and havent kept up with the current solutions. i'm sure i will have follow up qustions after a few replies. I'm very greatful for any help. kindest regards eric

BVAVT Report post Posted March 1, 2014 A test pipe is simply a pipe that replaces your catalytic converter, catalytic converters are used to filter 02 through the exhaust. You probably wont pass emissions with one but hey who cares you drive a lambo lol. I would go with Capristo there set up doesnt throw any codes that I know of and the sound its as obnoxious as it gets especially the downshifts just loud and nasty. baazinakon Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Not sure if they make them for the Aventador, however in many other applications people use resonated test pipes, especially if removing the primary or first set of cats IIRC. I would imagine an Aventador with non-resonated test pipes would be extremely loud which may be what you are after from the sound of it. LV Eric Report post Posted March 3, 2014 i just never heard the term "test pipe" before. It is what I thought. Thanks Now I have to figure out what i'm going to do. I think my car has the Lambo factory enhanced exhaust, its a 14. I didnt spec it out-it came in VERY early. I grabbed it, had I ordered it things would have been different. I have some option called "Lambo Sound" is that the exhaust or music? I think the exhaust. I dont know shit about this car to be honest. I like some things about it, and despise the cheap plastic that's prevalent everywhere I look. My Jetta has better plastic. The front bonnet latch is a pot metal stamped POS like my friend's Yugo has in the 80's(true story). WTF half a mil for that shit? really? I've owned it since early Dec, I have driven it maybe 40 miles. I dont think I have hit 5th gear yet. LOL Thanks for all the input and suggestions.
