I want to buy new headers for my 2005 F430, some shops are telling me I need to buy the header blankets.. are blankets really needed for just street driving? or is the heat coated headers good enough? thanks

I would imagine if you go the headers ceramic coated, they would be fine. But I'm not 100%. No header owners on fchat?

We designed and built headers for P 4/5 C which races with a 4.5 Liter version of that motor. Ours are ceramic coated inside and out and have no issues but we did have issues with 430 racing headers. We do use additional heat shielding around various components. I'd try and find a shop who's had extensive 430/Header experience as this is a problem many 430 owners have had.

The shops that do 430 challenge are a good choice like Universal in LI NY.

we offer a header for the 430 that is pre-catless. We also offer a header blanket. I have sold many sets of headers without the blankets and the cars are fine.. The blankets aren't a bad piece of insurance to have though. Also, our headers include AC and Alternator heat shields. Like Jim said, ceramic coating is almost always the route I tell my customers to go.

Im sorry for not understanding fully... fabspeed... you said your headers come with ac and alternator heat shields.. is that an add on item? or do you mean the way your header tubes are routed ?

I apologize, I was thinking of our 360 headers that include separate heat shields for the AC and alternator... ill chalk that mistake up to a case of the Mondays.
