djantlive Report post Posted July 6, 2016 My Gallardo ac climate control panel is faulty. After switching to an Audi A8 used part, it lights up but none of the buttons work. The unit does not turn on. Any idea how to enable it? I didn't think it needs to be programmed. The side of the Audi part is slightly wider. Do I just saw it off? If I want to reuse my Lambo faceplate, what is the bit that opens the little screws? Thanks!
djantlive Report post Posted July 7, 2016 The replacement panel needs to be encoded / programmed to the car. Luckily, taking components from the replacement unit fixed my problem without changing the brain of the panel. Taking off the panel requires a small star tool bit. I think it is t7 size. djantlive Report post Posted July 9, 2016 Yeah, it is nice to have proper hvac now. Having full on hot air on a hot day is no fun!
boss gt Report post Posted July 12, 2016 what was it doing?
djantlive Report post Posted July 12, 2016 It was hunting around giving random heat and cold air. This is typically the heater control valve failing but I changed that 2 years ago. If you get hot and cold air randomly, it is likely your control panel. In my case, the faceplate electronics failed so I was able to swap that with an a8. If the other electronics board fails in the control panel, you would need to get it programmed by dealer.
