CashMe Report post Posted July 18, 2016 Hi Guys, I am a newb to Lambo's. Only had mine 3 months and I am going to go ahead and do the brake work myself. Price: What was the best price anyone has ever found on rotors ? Pads ? Is $1500-1850 per rotor about correct ? Also, I purchased Brembo Pads, but I am noticing an inconsistency in their appearance. Attached is a lambo brake pad image. The area I circled is NOT consistent with the brembo pads I purchased. Is that circled area a sensor location ? Any tips on fluids, pads, and rotors would be much appreciated. Is there a specific fluid I must use ? What are some of the best bang for your buck on pads and rotors ? whiteout Report post Posted July 18, 2016 What year is your car? I prefer Hawk HPS pads. Here's my write up for an early Murci with 4 piston brakes. Later cars are different, but it's the same general process: http://lambodiy.blogspot.com/p/brake-pads.html

whiteout Report post Posted July 19, 2016 I noticed in the pads you imstalled that the brake sensor can not be used, is that correct ? The pads I used did not have a provision for brake sensors. There are many pads out there that have provisions for the sensor.
cake Report post Posted July 20, 2016 Glen at AMH Exotic parts supplies OEM parts and many on this forum (me included) have bought from Glen because he has extremely competitive prices and excellent customer service. You could give him a buzz for comparison shopping. I don't know if he sells other brands. Worth asking.

djantlive Report post Posted July 20, 2016 That slot is for the sensor. You do not need to change the rotor. Usually, the rotor is good for at least two sets of pads. For brake fluid, I recommend motul rbf600. You can get higher spec rbf660 but it is overkill unless you track, which I wouldn't not recommend early Murci w stock brakes. I find OEM pads to be the best in most cases. You can look for OEM equivalent to save money.
