Juice it Report post Posted February 28, 2017 Due to service records etc it makes sense that a lot of this would be the special edition "new" cars that bounce around a bit way over sticker so the dealers/owners can use them a bit, lop the miles back and move on. Cars like an Laf or a special A are prime examples where 1k miles may make a huge difference. I would doubt it is just Ferrari though, now you have the 911R and soon there will Ford Gt's that will be in this same market. SV-N-IT Report post Posted February 28, 2017 I would think any good PPI/tech can see if a car has under 1k miles or 5k miles. this is why every used car should go through a inspection by a reputable tech.
Rouleur Report post Posted February 28, 2017 Far more rampant than anyone thinks it is.
yellomurci Report post Posted February 28, 2017 This device would need to reset many logs that are held in all sorts of ecu's on the car in question and they would all need to jive with each other, for instance it needs to reset the miles per gear. clutch uses, carbon break wear etc. What about state records if this is used on cars from 2010? how will the mileage on the emissions reports be fudged. Not saying it is not happening but it would be a really hard thing to accomplish with no trace.
