  1. I don't think Ferrari do too badly when it comes to throwing their toys out the pram & getting thier own way, (thanks to Ferrari International Assistance, AKA the FIA).
  2. Love the way they use a quote by a fictitious character for a fictitious car; class! This looks like the work of Super Replicas, Gerald Wiegert, or Walter Mitty.
  3. I took the decision to retrain for a career in IT after years of dead-end jobs; I now have a job I love, & bought my first house. And I'm not young. 46 years old; it's never too late to change. Next 10? Countach QV. Onwards & upwards...
  4. Sorry guys, a closer look, (& a DVLA check), confirms it as a fake, (like I needed to do that!); my apologies for posting a replicrap. Looking forward to Limeys pics of the real thing!
  5. Here's one that was at Brighton a few years back; it may help with your decision...
  6. It's a concept car, so show-cases some elements of what may come to pass on future models; fair enough. IMO, as a production car, which it's not, (unless enough favourable reaction from well-heeled clients prompts them to build a couple), it's hideous. Adriani, I've seen what you're capable of with some of your design work; awesome stuff, even as a "concept". I say you deserve a crack at working for a styling house. Good luck to you, fella. Back on-track...
  7. Love those things; i see EVO recently managed to get one, (V8 version?), round their circuit faster than a Caparo T1. Did you ever see James May drive one in the booze-related TV series he did with Oz Clarke? They ran it on Whiskey/Whisky, (sorry, can't remember if it was Irish or Scotch)!
  8. Certainly the "dark side" of what Katana has so far achieved, (along with the fake carbon fibre parts shown above, not nice). Having said that, it would make an interesting alternative to having a crashed, genuine, Murcielago Roadster rebuilt as a standard car.
  9. Dunno how much they'd be; i wouldn't mind betting they're copies, i've seen some quite convincing ones on Diablo kit cars over here.
  10. Fortunately... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...B%3ASS%3AUK%3A1
  11. It's outrageous; i love it! There appears to be a real art-deco fan in their styling department.
  12. Check the link again Craig, you got a little flamed for bringing this up! Ridiculous if you ask me, especially as you don't actually say anything detrimental about the car; you even go on to say it looks great! Some people
  13. Then i would agree with you; looks like the movie car is an S2. An interior shot would clinch it, (for me), as i believe that the gauges are more "definitive" of the type than any other aspect of the car. In any event, you have a fantastic car, and i hope you continue to enjoy it for many years
  14. I've looked at the picture of the Cannonball car, and you're right, the wheels are the S2 type; I hadn't noticed this before. The body also appears to be fairly low on it's wheels. Do these wheels feature on the car during the movie, or are they the "Bravo" , (S1), type? I'm sure that's right, that's what I meant by the possible existence of an interim model; call it an S1 1/2 if you like. With such a low-volume car/market, it is not unreasonable to assume that some of the elements of an S1 would make their way onto an S2, and possibly vice-versa, during the change over. I'm really pleased for you, and insanely jealous at the same time; congratulations!
  15. The front wing that features on the front of the Cannonball Run car is not an original factory option/fitting. I believe i am right in saying that it would have been added to the car when it arrived in the US, to comply with local safety regulations laws, acting as some kind of bumper. I think that you're right about the wheels; it's the easiest way to spot the difference, (although it must be pretty easy to change the wheels), but i am sure that you will find the revisions go further than that. That's why i mentioned the interior gauges; they are far more destinctive and harder to change.
  16. Aren't the S1's identified by the gauges? I seem to remember reading that when the S2 was introduced, the Stewart Warner gauges, (with the vertical odometer and trip meter), were deleted and replaced with a different design. Also, your car appears to have the S2 style of rear view door mirror. Is it possible that some "interim" models may have been produced when the factory changed from S1 to S2?
  17. OMG, i spoke too soon... http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopi...der=asc&start=0
  18. Hahahahaha, we get those sorts of things over here all the time, especially in the magical county of Essex. As can be seen here... http://www.barryboys.co.uk/mx/ You can only feel sorry for the poor deluded fools; there should be some kind of national charity set up to look after them. That's putting it mildly! Some of the comments are a little scathing...
  19. Did your car appear in EVO a few months ago, in an article about second-hand supercars? I think it was a red Diablo with a red-piped snowcorn interior.
  20. Am i right in saying that the seats in the Countach are not true recliners? I seem to remember reading that they had a kind of tilt mechanism, but that the seat back was rigidly fixed to the seat. If this is the case, then the originals are what we refer to in the UK as "bucket" seats. So, if i were to "try" a Countach for size, based on the premise that i can (just) fit in with the standard seats, then i would have even less of a problem with after-market race seats, bolted straight to the floor. Of course, if/when i come to sell the car, (haven't even bought it yet ), it would have a pair of original seats without my contribution to the wear and tear. It is looking more and more likely that i could find a way around this. Wooo-hooo, that's me to a ""T"! I'll try to make the next scheduled UK meeting on 15 May, but i'm planning to be in Spain that week for a break. Nothing booked yet, so that could be on for me.
  21. Yes, good suggestions; even the odd 1/2" here and there would be good. I'm sure there must be ways around it. I'm quite into the idea that a bespoke seat could be made by a racing company, as i think underdog mentioned; there are quite a few racing circuits around my neck of the woods, with the accompanying businesses that provide parts etc. Not given up yet...
  22. Don't do it! ken qv, thank you for your comments. I remember reading about an early LP400 that an Aussie guy had removed the seat rails on so he could drive it properly; i'm guessing he had the same problem as me, (and a few of the other members here, by the sound of it)! I sit fairly low in my car, and have in my previous cars. For me, this is very comfortable; i don't even have to put the seat all the way back. My collegues at work generally have a good laugh when they see me getting in and out of my car; it's a kind of "limbo dance"! No, i missed what 2aftercannonball said about the previous owner of his car; i've gone back and read it again. I'm hoping that although i'm tall, the fact that i'm "gangly", (long arms & legs; body length "conventional"), may work for me. I shan't give up until i've tried one for size... John, you sound more or less like me physically; your words, (and those of the rest of you), are most encouraging. terryjoint, that's most kind of you; i shall be in Spain next month, but i daresay nowhere near you! Not to worry 'cos... Lambochick, i live near Canterbury, in Kent. That'd be great; when are you having your next get-together; i missed the one posted about earlier this month, maybe i could come along? Allan & ralfabco, do you mean roomier or seating or both?
  23. Then it would be a complete waste of time & money. Allan, i believe you've owned both a Countach and a Diablo; which do you think is the "roomier"?
  24. I really couldn't put up with that, even on an "occasional" basis, (and the emotional stress of being denied my dream); i'd end up resenting having bought the car. I'm less in proportion to you, (i have ridiculously long legs). Then perhaps that's the answer.
  25. True; i'd do it if i had the money.... And a few other Lambos to drive!
