  1. Top Gears' Facebook page recently visited the new Pagani museum which may not have been there last time you were. Also in the area is the Ducati Museum, assuming you're into bikes, & the Alfa Romeo museum is on the outskirts of Milan; a bitch to get to, but they do have the Carabo & a Tipo 33 Stradale on display amongst mostly race cars.
  2. O/T, but what DID happen to the 2000bhp NASA-developed SV?
  3. My parents bought their second house around that time; it was £14K, to put things in perspective. Mind you, it was a bit "posh" what with it having a glass thing called a "conservatory" out the back. What became of the GT40, may I ask?

    Top Gear

I've been a Top Gear fan since it was resurrected way back when & it morphed into the three amigos. It was a programme we used to look forward to watching; it often had us laughing out loud & it genuinely entertained us. It was licence money well-spent. Then, only an hour ago, my girlfriend said to me, "Is Top Gear still on?". We haven't watched it for three weeks. Completely forgot about it, & I don't miss it either. So sad that something so good can be so quickly forgotten when it no longer appeals. TV rots your brain anyhow, so maybe I'm better off now. At least we still have Dave.

    Top Gear

Early days; you can bet the BBC will be scouring the social networking sites for comment & feedback. It could have been worse. I'm dreading Eddie Jordan's arrival...

Bloody Hell; is one of them a girl? Whatever next? A German, (Fawlty)? Certainly willing to give them the opportunity to make something of this; the Beeb have given us some great products over recent years, (discounting claptrap such as The Voice, or Strictly Cum Dancing). However, if it is shite, then it will be evident within the first four shows or so. Of course, there will be the inevitable backlash if it becomes a success; we English love to build 'em up & knock 'em down again, but at least it keeps the talent fresh that way. (A bit worried about the inclusion of Eddie J, tho; he was genuinely cringe-worthy when attempting to appear controversial reporting F1...).
  7. Good luck with whatever you choose; I've had a few Kwackers over the years & they've all been good bikes. Just bear in mind that having crashed both cars & bikes in 30-odd years of driving/riding, the one that hurts the most is also the most fun; hell of a paradox, assume everyone else on the road will likely do something stupid. Once the bug bites you, you'll find it hard to get rid of.
  8. Hi, I've just finished reading the thread you provided the link for. You are probably one of the most professional-sounding, reasonable people I have ever come across on the Internet. The entire story is a real roller-coaster ride, & the fact that you've had problems with other manufacturers, (the previous Lemon Law incidents), also seems to mark you as damn unlucky from time-to-time, yet you bounce back; good for you. You're also clearly a guy who knows when something isn't right, but are prepared to let others right their wrongs. I hope your experience with the new GT, (& any vehicle!), is a more favourable one, & that good karma comes your way this time. All the best, Richard. P.S. Did the GT ever get fixed to your satisfaction? P.P.S. Was the Hyundai really that good?
  9. Is that a new wheel manufacturer on the scene?
  10. With all the time & money they've invested in TG over the years, the BBC cannot afford to cock this up. I think we'll see a different format, otherwise the BBC will simply be accused of plugging a couple of celebs into the recently-vacated slots the three amigos resided in. One of the things us Brits hate is the Emperor's New clothes syndrome; don't tell us it's an all-new, all-singing, all dancing show if it's blatantly not. As for CE's peak, one could say Clarkson's peak was a way back now; I have been catching up on old episodes of TG from maybe ten years ago, (on Dave; another TV network master-stroke), & the dynamic was there between the three of them back then, even early on. Recent episodes looked like they were going through the motions to a degree; a staleness that indicated familiarity, (& we know what that breeds), had started to set in. Probably another reason why Clarkson turned down being reinstated; it's run it's course, as it is. Good luck to Chris; I for one will be looking forward to TG when it re-launches. (OT), as for side-kicks, I nominate Chris Harris & Guy Martin.
  11. It's back for it's final outing tonight on BBC2 at 20:00, with a "Best Of Series 22" next week.
  12. Sorry for resurrecting a very old thread, (which I may well get flamed for), but what actually happened to the Cheetah? Where is it now?
  13. If you search eBay, you'll see there are Transform kits available for the 88 1/2 QV; I think they're about £25 or so.
  14. & tomorrow's Euromillions Jackpot stands at £133M, (off to the shop across the road). I agree on the body-coloured roof panels &... You, sir, have taste. I was thinking about the loss of structural rigidity resulting from the removal of the original roof. & then i looked at it again, & thought "fcuk it; roof off, Alpine pass, loud pipes & a bit of Matt Monro, (or Slipknot)...". Congratulations to all those on the waiting list. (edit) The clear panels over the engine appear to be different in this shot; I can see two over-laying panels each side of the car's centre-line.
  15. Do you use a build-up TIG-welding technique?
  16. (Slightly off-topic), sure is...
  17. Stunning thing. Thank god they've ditched the red "baboon's arse" gearbox casing. Somebody's going to put one of these on the road, mark my words. Single Vehicle Approval, (a UK thing)?
  18. The new one's a looker, (ducks). Wish i had the same problem, (love your TTG, by the way); how about a Murcielago SV? Bad-ass, always will be, & limited run so maybe you wouldn't take such a bit hit when the Gallardo replacement comes out, (assuming it's not an ugly bag of shit). If it were me... Perfection. http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?...63978&st=40
  19. It's always dangerous letting anyone loose with a ruler & photocopier.
  20. I must like it; I keep going back to look at the pictures. There's a few styling queues from the F1, in particular the side windows, which, unfortunately, (for me), don't look quite right. I daresy "in the flesh" it's a stunner, (certainly the fax machine looks better in reality), but at the moment it looks like they've tried a little too hard to integrate some F1 DNA into the design. Maybe the design's a bit contrived/cynical? Does one sit in the middle, I wonder? Mind you, I prefer it to the Way-Hey-Hey, which is starting to look dated & no-one's bought one yet, (statement may include inaccuracies).
  21. The entire event was excellent; it's held over a weekend, Friday to Sunday. We're definitely going for at least two days next year, as it's impossible to do the whole thing in a day, what with all the racing going on too. Sorry, no VINs. Mr. Metcalfe's car had a wing on it when he got it. I've been dribbling over the Countach since Top Trumps came out in the 70's; back then it was wing all the way. Nowadays, if I were lucky enough to own one, I'd leave it off; I prefer the lines of the car without it.
  22. Emperor's new clothes; British journos falling over each other to be the first to say they like it. Nasty. Really nasty. & not nasty as in good.
  23. Oh dear; Gallardo depreciation is about to hit an all-time high in the UK.
  24. I thought it was better then The Dark Knight Rises.
