My Uncle Tom has a 1967 VW T2. It's in great (restored) condition and he can drop the engine out in about three minutes since he's been working on them since he was in high school. They're an experience for sure! Just don't get into a head-on collision. There's nothing between you and the other car except a little thin metal and some brittle glass!

I like to think he died making exhaustive love to an entire town in France. Woof!

Personally, I'd have a tune done on your e-gear system and maybe upgrade a couple things on the G. I don't see those other cars beating a modded G for overall experience in that price range. I drove a 2004 G before and after some e-gear work and it was a dramatic difference in driving experience. Well worth it in my opinion!

Is your G an e-gear car or 6-speed manual?

First things first! Do you always include the ® symbol when you talk about a make/model? I haven't driven a coupe, but I had an extended drive in the convertible (a white V8 S) and I really liked it. I thought it looked fantastic and I agree about the V8 soundtrack. The car sounds really nice, especially in the sport mode. I saw a coupe at our Season Opener Party and thought it was really good looking but I would personally take the convertible if I were buying an F-Type.

In Ohio, we're required to notify the cop that we've got a firearm in the vehicle. In fact, it is supposed to be the very first thing we say to them when we're stopped. Mine has only been confiscated once during a stop (after I'd dared to go shooting on my own rural land...another story for another time!) but usually they just say something like "As long as you don't reach for it, we're good." and continue with their revenue generation.

Haha, that was a staged photo op at the dealership, not parking technique. I've gotten a few comments on that! I appreciate it though, I am definitely enjoying the experience and looking forward to some fun time with this car, and the ones that will follow it. This is really an easy first sports car to own!
