  1. Sounds cool... yeah I didnt even think of the HP gain with the K&N's.. as you know, I just installed mine... every little bit helps I guess-
  2. Has anyone dynoed/noticed a performance difference with the SP intake? Wondering if the same advantage is found as what is found by Viper owners that install smooth tubes...
  3. With the lowenharts on the car, the tops of the lug bolts looked terrible... a few minutes at the machine shop and a mirror finish: I was worried about removing material from the bolts and messing up the balance (me worrying way too much)... so I put the bolts on a nice scale before and after, not much change and they are all still very close to each other in weight. Very little material was removed at all, just had to take the grooves down a little where they were roughly cut on a lathe at the bolt factory.
  4. Taking the panel out wasnt too bad because I had the wheel well taken apart already to work on the battery area; otherwise it will be just a little more to do. Anyways, there are two studs that hold the heatshield up that I am pointing at with the screwdriver.. the outside one is spotwelded to the car while the one on the side closer to the engine is welded to the panel and is what holds the panel down. Take that locking nut off carefully (you might spray with some rustbreaker and clean with a wire brush if the threads arent clean). Passenger side looks just the opposite from a quick look at it, just remove the nut from the stud on the engine side. If the panel doesnt lift right up, you might tap below on the stud to help break it loose, there was a little rust around where the stud went through. Sorry about the security warning.. I dont have it fixed yet.. its only a jpeg though
  5. I have no idea why it is doing that..something to do with the site's security certificate.. just click yes to proceed for now until I get it figured out, its just a JPEG .. you arent entering a credit card number or anything...
  6. Without any luck on my own of pulling the corner of the leather back over the panel... I think its time to send it to someone to fix it right. Anyone know of a good shop to send this out to? Anyone else had this problem? Thanks guys.
  7. L Diablo, yeah I hear ya. I am going to get something on there though.. a good part of it is just to have keyless entry, I hate putting the key in the doors to unlock. Good point about taking the battery switch when getting out of the car...
  8. Gday, med 2000.k never heard of that? Is "med 2000" a brand? I talked to a guy at Car-Fi in Springfield, MO... he said the Viper 5000 system was the way to go. Not sure what I am going to do yet...
  9. AWESOME THREAD!! I will edit and add to this post as I come across more... 009460302 SHOCK ABSORBER FOR ENGINE HOOD Napa part#: BK.819-5519 ($19.99, which is about half of oem cost) The Napa part is a 1/4" longer than the oem, I have had them on for a few months, seems fine so far. If anyone has an exact length cross ref, let me know though! The front hood shock is a lambo different part#, which is 009469318, they appear to be exactly the same however... maybe its softer or something, I dont know.
  10. Just wondering what you guys have on your Diablos as far as alarm systems? I have a 1/2 uninstalled Clifford on mine... looking to have it removed the rest of the way and have a new system installed. Someone told me that the Clarion Ungo was the way to go on the Diablo. -what options do you guys have on your system? Just basics.. or remote window movement, etc... -what brand is the OEM alarm system on the lambos? or does lambo have thier own system? Thanks.
  11. All of the dealers I have talked to said no returns on special orders from Lamborghini... Wondering if all the dealers are like that? Allan- Yeah, I think I already found somewhere to get my parts from on this... but it wont hurt to see what your guy can do... if you talk to your guy today these are the part numbers L Diablo and I are talking about: 0066004330 Rear Grill 009430159 Net Under Rear Grill 0094004127 VT badge 0094004121 Lamborghini Script 8 Inch 0094004122 Item Lamborghini Bull Badge Also, if you dont mind... how much that GT grill would cost... you have me questioning which I like better...hahhahah Not sure what kind of pricing you can get.. I too have a guy that is pretty good to me on pricing, if I remember correctly, he told me a little over $900 for all of the above.
  12. I had thought about getting it from a replica guy, but the guy at please check with our franchised lamborghini dealer sponsors told me that I would have fit-up trouble with a replica part, he said he tried one on his own car. The replica guy told me it is an exact match however. Anybody had any experience with the guy at lambo stuff? My experience so far is that he has quoted me above retail on every part I have asked him about. His price compared to what the dealer told me was retail anyway.
  13. Just wanted to share what I ended up doing with the battery tender... quite a few guys have mounted them on the vehicle, but I just wasnt comfortable with having the charger itself on there.... so I mounted an amphenol connector and wired it to the battery where it was easy to access for hooking up the battery tender (just have to reach under the car...).
  14. Not sure what that grills looks like to be honest... anyone have a picture of the GT grill?
  15. Quite a few people told me this grill would work on my 94 vt, I have no reason to question them, but I got got a message from someone saying that it wont fit... but, it looks like its a perfect fit from the pictures: Two questions.. -Can someone with this style grill take some rough dimentions of it? (my 94 grill frame is roughly 42.25" wide along the top, 40.75" wide along the bottom and 5.25" tall) -Are the grills in these two pictures different? Looking at the body lines, the red one appears to be wider or something... This is the one that appears to be a perfect match: This appears to be different (look at the body piece that is where the wing would be mounted), is that OEM, or a custom mod?: Just want to triple check that this mod will work....I expect mounting modifications, but I want to make sure it fits the grill space... hate to spend almost a 1k on it and it turn out to be a mess.... THANKS GUYS!!
  16. Did anyone end up getting pricing on the grill update? I believe these are the part numbers for the grill on the above silver lambo: 0066004330 Rear Grill 009430159 Net Under Rear Grill 0094004127 VT badge 0094004121 Lamborghini Script 8 Inch 0094004122 Item Lamborghini Bull Badge Retail is about $1075 if I remember correctly...
  17. SI Lambo- Since you had your entire interior out... how does the bottom leather covered panel come out that is behind the quarter window? The leather on my has shrunk leaving the metal panel exposed, I want to take the piece out to strecth the leather back over it and glue it back down... I just dont see how the piece comes outs...
  18. Anyone have a battery tender in their Diablo? What is the best mounting location? Would it hurt to mount it remotely from the battery, like in the trunk next to the amplifier? Thanks guys-
  19. A friend of my put small wheels on the front of his and it works pretty well... I will try and get some pictures. He owns a machine shop, so his setup is pretty nice, doesnt look like a cheesey bolt on.
  20. Besides the looks and all that... I wonder if much more heat can pass through that grill, since the whole space is grill instead of the painted frame.... just wondering. I still cant believe how hot that air is coming from that rear grill even after the car has sat for a bit!
  21. Anybody know what year this one is? Thinking that is the look I would like on my car..
  22. I havent ordered mine yet... so I am interested...
  23. I just cant believe how much time and energy some guys put into those things...
