1. Unfortunately no - not quite that much. Advertised prices in the UK are well off what they are actually changing hands for - hence nothing advertised is actually shifting. I can't divulge the exact figure as it would be unfair for the new owner.
2. All I can say is that I managed to purchase a very nice SLS with the necessary optional extras and only 5,000 miles without really adding to the pot of Money I sold the Diablo for. I'm in the UK so obviously prices are slightly different.
3. I'm afraid I can't divulge the sales price, but I can say I was happy. As for being a poet? If I am, then I don't know it.
4. Well folks, its been an epic 12 months of Diablo ownership but it saddens me to anounce that the Diablo has gone to a new home. She was one car I thought I'd keep forever but prices here in the UK made it too tempting to sell - I'm sure I'll live to regret it. I've replaced her with a Mercedes SLS AMG which is also a great motor and should be more useable. Good luck & so long folks Drive safe L33
5. Thanks Sudesh. Just where I thought it was but 30 mins looking and still couldn't find it. I already have a switch - Mike gave me the part number for a generic part. Bargain at £5. I will have another look over the weekend. Do you have to bleed the brakes after fitting?
6. Does anyone have any idea where the brake light switch is on a 1995 VT please? My brake lights are only coming on at the full extent of pedal travel. There is no electronic switch around the pedal linkage. I've been told its an in-line pressure switch which senses the brake fluid pressure. I was told it was in the front bonnet/trunk, behind the carpet panel on the opposite side to the brake master cylinder. I've had a good look and can't see anything. Can anyone help or happen to have a picture of its location? Many thanks in advance
7. Many thanks for the offer but I fear shipping across the pond will be very expensive. I'll make some enquiries and see if I can get a set over here in the UK.
8. Many thanks - I may well give it a go.
9. For info, I'm a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. Is it just a case of removing front driveshafts? If so are parts required to cap any voids left in the diff or front axles? Is it worth also removing the front diff and propshaft to take advantage of the weight saving?
10. Mmmmm this has me thinking now. What's involved in converting to RWD? Is it a simple do at home job with a standard toolkit and are any additional parts required?
11. Your best off giving each wheel a very thorough clean - including the rears where you can't see and then sealing the wheels.. I used bilberry wheel cleaner as its one of safest out there. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/valet-pro-bi...r/prod_499.html A soft brush takes care of cleaning round the wheel bolts. After this you can seal the rims with a decent dedicated wheelcare product. I used planet polish wheel and shine: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0036BRRQU This process took me about 1.5 hours PER WHEEL! Good old fashioned soap and water works for me now the wheels are sealed. The dirt just falls away. Go easy with a jetwash if you use one. Its very easy to wreck the lacquer if the water gets behind it at pressure. If you check out the detailing world website, plenty of useful info over there. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/index.php
12. Top work! Your new gauges look sweet. Where did you get the workshop manual from? I see loads of different manuals for sale on ebay but don't know if any of them are any good???
13. As promised... Drivers side: Passenger side:
14. I should have mine in the air tomorrow with the wheels off. I'll take a couple of pics for you while I'm at it. Cheers, Lee
15. My '95 VT does. Don't know if that helps?
16. Hi, Does anyone have a link to a Diablo users manual and the VT supplement to download as a pdf etc please? Sadly they didn't come with my Diablo I have searched but to no avail. This is what the 2 manuals look like: http://www.bullstuff.com/diablo-vt-supplem...al-pn-901325710 http://www.ferraribooks.com/index.php?main...roducts_id=1261 Any pointers very much appreciated. Thanks, Lee
17. Interesting... The previous owner lived just outside Nottingham - not too far from Derby. Do you know the previous owner or if he on this forum? Cheers, Lee
18. I think I'd have to see both fitted, although my gut instinct tells me to go with the orange that's slightly cleared - this way, the old girl gets a minor facelift but still keeps her old school character.
19. I like the front indicator lenses a lot - I'd really like a set of them on mine. If you see any more, ideally on ebay etc, please can you pm me the ebay link? As for the rear lenses, personally I think the 6.0 look rules.
20. After my wanted post during the previous 6 months, I finally have a Diablo sat in my garage She's a pristine and original 1995 VT in midnight blue with just 20,000km on the clock. Many thanks to Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport for sourcing her for me. To say I'm smitten is an understatement! If anyone has any info about the cars history / old photos etc, I'd be really grateful. She's been on a few number plates: M487HNL - from 1995 - 1996 M3DRR - from 1996 to early 2002 5PRY - from early to mid 2002 M449VBR - mid to late 2002 12WA - late 2002 to 2004 B11LVT from late 2004 until recently. Heres to a summer full of sunny warm weather to enjoy driving her.
21. Well, it looks like I've found myself a Diablo! I don't want to say too much until its sat in my garage, but I've paid a substantial deposit... The only real issue with the car is that the tyres on it are yeas old. As part of the deal, new tyres have been agreed. The car is a 1995 VT (4WD). Front tyres are 235/40/17 and the rears are 335/35/17. Obviously tyre choice is limited but whats the best option for grip and handling? 1. Go for Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico 2. Go for Michelin PS2 / PS3 Whats your thoughts folks? Is one tyre far better than the other?
22. Many thanks - I saw that one appear last week. I've already spoken to Carlo about the car and its just outside my budget.
23. Cheers for all the replies folks. I'm still really torn what to do - or even to go ahead with the purchase of the car. I'm usually for all for originality but I think a a 6.0 look in pearl orange would be a pretty damm awesome. I don't think the standard front end and lights would suit orange though (just my opinion). I don't think the 6.0 parts are genuine, although they are from moulds of original parts and are identical to look at. I do have a couple of photos but as its not my car, I have to refrain from posting them until such a time I buy the car. The owner is a fellow member of this forum. Decisions.............
24. As some of you are aware, I've been on the hunt for a Diablo for a while. One has been offered to me which needs some work, but it should still come out on budget. The car in question is a '94 Diablo in red and has a 6.0 front end with the updated wings, bumper, lights and Murcielago wheels. All original panels, lights, wheels etc are included with the car. The paint is a bit rough round the edges and needs a complete respray. Here comes my dilemma - I see I have 2 options: 1) Stay with the 6.0 look and respray the car Lambo pearl orange. 2) Put the original panels / wheels back on and respray the original red. This car would be a keeper for a few years for me and I prefer the 1st idea and going to orange but I'm worried about resale when the time eventually comes. The obvious 3rd option of keeping the 6.0 look and respraying in red doesn't appeal to me as I don't think this suits red - I just don't think it works on the more modern looking car. What would you do?
