  1. A car I will have to see in person. The shifter is huge. Like a hurst T bar shifter. I do not like that. The plus looked ok... I really like my 11 and don't feel I'm going to miss anything by not getting a 16. Mike
  2. Well, there were bets out there that this would not take long. To my surprise, it sure didn't. For those who do not know, last summer, I took my 560-2 and ended up at UGR with a bolt on kit. I had only had the car for 500 miles, when I went with the upgrade. The transformation of the car is hard to put into words. It surpassed my every expectation, and I was blown away with not only the car... But with Kevin at Underground Racing. Fast forward to January of this year. The kit has been driven about 1000 miles, and I decide to take the car to Wanna Go Fast in Ocala Florida. The car did very well for the class of car that it was up against. I venture to say there was not a car in my power range, that was rear drive, and a manual transmission that was any faster than me. The car was great running 177.2 as my fastest time. I never even iced the intercooler box down. Just ran the car as it sits in my garage. I had VP109 unleaded in, and it was a blast. I know that the car would have went 180 with me shifting better, and a little cooler charge temps... Having the opportunity to hang out in the pits with UGR... The stupid fast Black SL, the also stupid fast Yellow SL... I knew it was not going to be long until I wanted a little bump in power too... So, here we are. Two weeks after the event, and I decided it was time to upgrade. I emailed Kevin... He knew it was coming. Time to go faster. How much faster you ask?? Well, currently. This is our game plan. We are building the car to a Stage 3 with race heads. Going to install a complete AWD system ( More on this in a minute ) and do the suppression system, harness bars/partial cage, and maybe a shift light to keep me off the rev limiter I was very torn about going AWD on this car. Running the stock tires, or the Toyo R888 I have had not one ounce of trouble with traction. The MoTec does all the work for me and keeps that boost lower in the lower gears. However, being that I want to race this car more often, it was a joint decision that with the lack of traction at runways, and the higher HP/TQ numbers this car will make. It was in the name of safety that we went AWD. I would not for a second think twice about going RWD with a stage 3, but I know there is more power around the corner, so just doing it now while the motor is out, made sense. So, there you have it. I am sure this thread will get updated soon. As the car is currently at UGR and has been for around 10 days. Knowing Kevin, the engine is already out and at the machine shop. That outfit knows how to turn cars. For those of you who have your cars currently there, I said hi to all of them for you. My wife and I are like kids at the toy store when we are there. It is simply amazing. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Unloading at the shop. For now this is all I have. Thanks to Dustin ( Duhawks ) and his advice I have relied upon. You're next buddy.. Mike
  3. Kisco, I'd love too. That's exactly what I need to do. Get waxed by a 2R. I'll just take out that second mortgage now and sign it over to Kevin... Lol Mike
  4. I think there was a supra or something that did a few mph more than me. It was great meeting you GTT. I won't be in texas in March... Let's just say, the car won't be ready yet. But I look forward to meeting up with you again soon ! Mike
  5. I totally just turned the volume down at work... Don't want anyone like really... He listens to Fergie. LMAO How the times have changed. Mike
  6. I will gladly share my experience with you any time. If you ever get close to getting your car there and are on the fence, or what ever... Just send me a PM. I am in the business, and not easily impressed. With UGR, I was blown away. Mike
  7. LMAO... I had a cooler of diet red bull and water. Managed to drink four of them before 10 am... I was jacked! Mike
  8. Watching KC pilot that SL at 233.xx was amazing. The spin was scary but all was fine and he was laughing about it. The car is an absolute beast. I think I was most impressed by Grant. To think about the power he was making and still rowing gears, well... That was just nuts. That car was an animal, but his driving is what made that car make that pass. John did great in his Spyder. He never really ran all out and was still hitting 180's. It was a stroll to the store for him. For my first time out, I was very happy with my car. I was in full stock mode with some race gas. Never added ice to the water box or anything. Managed a 177.2 in my best pass. The car would have went 180 with some more seat time, and maybe higher with some ice etc... This was some of the most fun I have ever had. I can't thank the UGR crew enough. I am a little bolt on car, and they were all about making sure I had the experience that all the big boys had. That is why I am sure I will have a post with "Coming Soon..." As the title. Mike
  9. This may be stupid, but you are not driving with the lift up are you? I think it will lower itself at a set speed... Mike
  10. I agree with this. Ed is a great guy. I saw the car when it sold via instagram. The owner or maybe ex-owner has a 650s also. Ed will explain, he's legit. I really like the verde SL too. Go for it!
  11. Erik Pm me the side skirt carbon price Mike
  12. There is an 09 spyder for sale on this site. He states his SL wing us coming off before the sale. Just. Heads up. Mike
  13. Damn it... I forgot about it this morning, and it sold out in 1.5 hours. On the waiting list for cancellations. Mike
  14. Met him last year. Showed him the UGR TT and he kept looking at my tires. Lol He was so nice to talk with. So humble, a real pleasure. Mike
  15. The more I think about this.... The more I want to run.... Mike
  16. If you are getting a catalyst efficiency code, then they should not be replacing the o2 sensor. If you are getting a circuit fault or heater code etc, then it's a failed sensor. My advice is that if it's an efficiency code, I would a) install an oxygen sensor bung extension. This will cause the PCM to see the converter as being more efficient. Or have a tune written for the car that eliminates the down stream sensors. They have no impact on drivability. Only there to confirm proper converter operation. Feel free to pm me if I can help as I do not often remember to check threads. Sorry for any bad grammar. The iPad auto corrects too much. Mike
  17. Very few pro teams ever go undefeated. There will always be days that just don't work out the way we want. Props to ASS on a bad a$$ GTR. Dustin, great job pushing that car. You rode the wheels off of it. Hopefully this thread will not turn into a pissing match. I think it is great that the top UGR car is a daily driver , with cold ac and road tires. Maybe the GTR was too... But that's not what I'm reading. Can't wait to see some videos Mike
  18. Well, the race gas went in last night. The happy knob got turned to the right. I may as well just order more race gas now. As I don't think I am going back to pump anytime soon. Although, I have talked to Kevin about sending it back for some... well... upgrades.... lol Mike
  19. Ok ok .... #1 I am rolling. Lmao #2 yes, I want to join said group ... And I'm sure once the race gas is in... It will be a half tank and I'll want more!! I love this forum. Mike
  20. Well... I ordered a drum of VP109 today. Time to run down the 93... Mike
  21. The above is correct. I run without the traction control. I am still running the stock Pirelli tires, and have had very little issue. The boost by gear really allows you to get into the car, without a smoke show from the tires. I also do not want the traction control jumping in as it will pull fuel to slow the car down. In some rare instance, too much pulling of fuel could be a bad thing for the motor. This is just my thoughts, as I am not a built engine. I am sure that once the motor is built, this would not be a worry. I have put the car through its paces. I have had it over 200 MPH, and no traction concern what so ever. Now granted, I did not roll into a sweeping turn, and mash the go pedal mid process ... But I would not have done that stock either. I can not express how happy I am with this car. Mike
