  1. I predict the yellow car will never step up to the plate.
  2. why don't you 2 just trade vbox files. seems like the only way it will happen.
  3. Mark your calendars and get your cars ready. Texasmile.com
  4. why don't you suggest a time and location?
  5. what was the reason for the traction issues? Surface is slick?
  6. Cool for a fellow GT owner to get a trophy. fastest was??????? I was expecting a little higher numbers.
  7. hope they get it running. Please update this thread if they do or don't show. Thanks what happened to the other 1000 hp cars?
  8. my 226.200 mph is the standing mile record for a Ford GT.
  9. I just watched the 220mph run and unless they have changed the gearing in this car since then I don't think it will go over 238 (provided they are running more power now). They have obviously changed the gearing from stock (for the 220mph run). He was shifting into 6th at 200mph. They probably did the 3.9 gear change on this car (not good for top speed runs) I was in 5th at 226 with stock gearing. I never shifted into 6th. there are a bunch of unknowns on being able to predict a speed for this car.
  10. forgot to add...... do we have a confirmation of what kind of timing system they are using? and what is this "go into the turn at 60mph" stuff? I thought this is a standing mile.
  11. With this much HP on a RWD car I would say the trap speed will depend on traction in 1-3rd gears and how good the driver is. With my car and 994 rwhp I was getting FULL traction in second gear and up with the R6's in the rear. I would hit it hard enough in first on the launch to get wheelspin at roughly 5000-5500rpm and then I would slam it into second and all there was to do was to watch the rpm gauge and shift about 100-200rpm before the redline. if the weather is 70 degrees and minimal wind I will predict 249. the above prediction is if it stays together and on the track. There is one little known fact about the GT that I am curious if it will come up (not a safety issue but more a mechanical "thing"). I'm not going to say what it is before the run. The driver of this car would be able to confirm or deny after his run(s).
  12. I did 226 at the Texas Mile and can say it doesn't REALLY feel all that crazy fast (don't get me wrong you can tell you are really movin') while you are doing it.........it's the stopping part that puts it into perspective.
  13. equally fun is seeing the different and very wrong theories of why things (wrecks usually) happened. Couple I have seen on this one alone...... insurance gig........not, he just bought it 4 weeks ago going way too fast for so and so street. not this time
  14. I am thinking they will give it just a little less than the Veyron. 900-950?
  15. I wonder what a Veyron would do in the standing mile? Would like to see it first hand and not some 4000 internet links that says a guy knows a guy.......you know what I mean.
  16. yep, I agree. was just posting it so it could be read.
  17. no worries, I didn't think posting the details in my post was necessary. We both know what happened. when you didn't see me it's because I was 1/2 a car link behind you....right in your blindspot.
  18. I did at the Texas Mile. It was the first 2 up race. I won.
