  1. Damn - that looks really good on the SV body.
  2. Lambo's New Giallo Orion is a wonderful color, and it goes perfectly with the SV's lines and details. In my unbiased opinion, of course.
  3. This just arrived yesterday, after a year's wait. Totally worth it
  4. It sounds like the conclusion is 'it is misleading to test cars on different days and conditions and compare the results'?
  5. First off, I'm still deciding between Verde Singh and New Giallo Orion for our SV Roadster order. I liked Verde Ithaca in person, but not quite as much as the Giallo. I'll see Kris's car in February and that should decide matters. Now, since there's ongoing interest, one more derailment picture since Ferrari's gone ahead and posted their article . What a car!
  6. Not to derail this thread, but... this showed up today.
  7. I think it would do well at the track until the tires melted. With suitable track rubber I think it'd be mighty fast. I'm 3rd in line at Los Gatos, so it may be a little while yet. Shed zero tears on my account however - there's plenty of entertaining hardware inbound.
  8. I drove the SV last weekend at Pebble. My goodness, that car is The Business. It's a large step function more performance car than the regular Aventador. Handling is neutral, it's willing to rotate a bit on corner entry, no push mid-corner, and it will execute a beautiful 4-wheel drift on exit if you get into the power. It feels hundreds of pounds lighter (even though it isn't) and much more playful. The new suspension is actually plush on the "Strada" setting and goes very very stiff on "Corsa". The revised active steering is excellent; I never noticed it intervening, but the car went where I wanted it to. The handling setup is just the way I'd want it. It's not even much louder inside the car with everything buttoned up. I was really shocked at how much more I liked the SV than the Aventador. And I already like the Aventador. Damn.
  9. I'm planning to get factory centerlocks for my SV Roadster, but the factory only offers a few colors for the centerlock nut. Any plans to offer the locking nut in other colors -- like, ah, yellow ?
  10. :-D Specialized McLaren Tarmac ... Of course.
  11. I have not yet specc'd it. Likely the choice will be between Giallo Orion, Verde Ithica, and Rosso Bia. Need to see the other two colors in person to Know...

  13. Would you believe bicycling is the most common wheels? Followed by P85D, Hellcat, and P1 in that order.
  14. They're unfortunately a mite scattered - challenge cars in LA, XX cars in Italy, father's gift in MA, etc. It'll be a sea of yellows if I ever get the group assembled, that's for sure!
  15. In each case it's a lighter, more powerful version of the standard car. That's not marketing, it's a material change to the vehicle's performance. A convertible makes sense in that context. If you want an actual race car - buy a race car? They're worlds different from the SV / Scuderia / LT / ... variants of the street cars.
  16. Let's not start with the Lambo vs Ferrari nonsense. It's as asinine as the Corvette vs Viper debates, and interests me about as much.
  17. Lamborghini has really upped their game in the past few years, and a few weeks ago I decided to test drive the current Aventador Roadster to see just how far they had come since my previous experience in a '09 Gallardo. You might say I was impressed. You might be right. I ordered an SV Roadster a few weeks ago, and to tide me over until it arrives, this arrived on Monday.
  18. Yeah, pretty much zero. Try marrying a woman who's also into cars. You'll run out of either money or garage space before you know it.
  19. Horatio said he plans the public unveil in March '16. We saw pictures and the prototype chassis; it's spectacular. Can't wait!
  20. Huayra Roadster. If you haven't seen it... a visit to BLQ is in order.
