  1. This review by Car is perhaps the worst so far. http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Drives/Search...014-CAR-review/ You really have to be trying hard to find out what’s behind the Huracan’s fun, but efficiency-over-exhuberence, grip-and-go veneer. In fact, get past the understeer (we’d upgrade the P Zeros to Corsas immediately) and what's there is a nicely balanced car, and easing back on the gas mid corner tightens your line perfectly, allowing you to get back on the throttle and exit in a lovely neutral stance. We can understand that your average Asian millionaire isn’t going to be an F1-star in waiting, but why is even an R8 (from understeer kings, Audi) more oversteery? Verdict We knew the Gallardo was lagging behind its rivals in key areas, including the transmission, but driving the new machine really rams it home. This is a far more sophisticated car that's faster, more refined and much easier to drive fast or slow. The mellower but equally punchy engine would be far less tiresome than a 458's on a long trip, and the ergonomics are easier to fathom. The more relaxed steering is more instinctive, too. We think they both look sensational, but there’s even a good chance that many people will prefer the Lambo’s styling. So why would we still put a 458 in the garage? Because it’s more playful, so much easier to really exploit and because it sounds like it should have a set of numbers on the doors. The Huracan is great, and Lambo will sell loads. It makes a better daily driver but we’re not convinced it’s more exciting than the Ferrari. And excitement is the point of a supercar, right? Horses for courses, but ours is prancing, at least until the Superleggera arrives.
  2. Waiting for other reviews to come out. All of them are from UK so far.
  3. Hey, we posted same article almost exactly the same time
  4. Top Gear review http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/lamborg...view-2014-05-01 This is perhaps the most glowing review on the Huracan comparing it favorably with McL 650 and F 458. "By spurning the trend towards turbochargers, Lamborghini ran the risk of being outclassed in the performance credentials. No chance of that. The V10 is a masterpiece, not only dishing more than enough power to keep the 458 and 650S honest, but also delivering the life and soul of the Lamborghini experience. Chuck in that sublime new transmission, four-wheel drive, stability systems that can not only keep fighter jets in the air but subtly convince you of your own Driving God status, and it’s clear the Huracan is a mighty thorn in the side of the opposition."
  5. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/car-ma...0-4-review.html nice review but critical of understeer
  6. I would like to see a 458 Speciale vs Gallardo SC comparison. Here is MSN Cars review. http://cars.uk.msn.com/reviews/lamborghini...ew-2013-onwards
  7. EVO review of the Squadra Corse http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarrevi...rse_review.html "Is it due to the rear wing? Possibly. But it is an extraordinary display that translates into an aura of invincibility I don’t think I’ve ever encountered in a road car before. I don’t think I’ve driven a faster car between two points than the Squadra Corse, certainly not one that distils and intensifies the supercar experience so potently."
  8. Thanks for posting a007! Please post more on what modifications were done and how the car performs compared to stock. What was the goal of the owner, is this to be raced or just track driven?
  9. Live pics http://www.autogespot.com/first-live-pictu...ri-458-speciale!
  10. A Ferrari Speciale for special emotions. It’s called the 458 Speciale: it’s Ferrari’s new sportscar, the fruits of the innovation and extreme technological research that have gone into a car as outstanding as the 458 Italia. The aerodynamic efficiency (an E index of 1.5), a more powerful aspirated V8 engine (605bhp) and the highest power density (135 bhp/l) in the history of Ferrari road cars, an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio (2.13bhp/kg), electronic control of the slip angle (SSC): these are some – but not all – of the characteristics that make this car truly Speciale and that are destined to become standard for the Ferraris of the future. The aptness of the car’s name is easily shown by its performance figures: accelerating from 0-100km/h in 3s (or 9.1s for 0-200km/h) and a best lap time round Fiorano of 1m 23.5s. The new 8-cylinder mid-engine berlinetta, which will be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10, was designed with the target of raising performance and driving emotion to the highest levels, while still guaranteeing ease of control in every situation.
  11. http://458speciale.ferrari.com/en# I don't like the styling.
  12. Though I immediately liked the new front and rear styling, it is perhaps less universally appealing and versatile compared to the original lp560-4 which looked good to all and in any color. But in the right colors, and with the more extreme ST rear wing, the new style looks great. I want that car in red and 6 speed manual.
  13. If they put the Audi r8 DCT in it, it will make this edition more worthwhile. The new front and rear bumpers should have been combined with the wilder looking new Super Trofeo rear spoiler, rather than the old style ST spoiler.
  14. The rematch in Spa on BAC Mono, guess who won
  15. hope this wasn't posted yet
  16. Since the R8 V10 Plus is now offered with both a 7 speed S-tronic (DCT) and a six speed manual, then technically at least, it should not be a problem to offer the Gallardo replacement with either gearbox.
  17. Thanks for posting. So nice to see Lamborghini racing cars in action and knowing they retained their awd.
  18. Ferrari F12 v Lamborghini Aventador v Aston Martin Vanquish video The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta tackles the Lamborghini Aventador and Aston Martin Vanquish in our supercar supertest video http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/supercarvideos...uish_video.html Ferrari F12 v Lamborghini Aventador v Aston Martin Vanquish video The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta tackles the Lamborghini Aventador and Aston Martin Vanquish in our supercar supertest video March 2013 It should make for a fascinating battle. The Ferrari F12 is one of the punchiest cars to wear the Prancing Horse badge, its 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 730bhp and 509lb ft, enough to hustle the 1630kg past 211mph via a 3.1sec 0-62 time. With a seven-speed DCT gearbox, rear-wheel drive and a host of electronic trickery - E-Diff, F1-Trac - it weighs in at £239,736. The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 trumps the F12 for drama, and they trade blows closely on paper. Its mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12 drives all four wheels with 690bhp and 509lb ft, allowing the F12 a small victory, but its sleeker shape and 1575kg kerbweight result in a swifter 2.8sec 0-62 time and 217mph top speed. It costs more, at £247,000... Nice video in the article
  19. Looks super fun. Cant wait for the stage 2 video. I always wonder how well the Gallardo would do compared to WRC cars on tarmac and smooth gravel road special stages. Reiter ran a specially prepped Gallardo as non competing lead car in 3-Städte-Rallye 2008. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opeShcVW7EA
  20. What I liked best in the Jalopnik article: "Lamborghini will stay normally aspirated for now. That's the most responsive engine, and that's what they want from their cars. If they reach the point when regulations make it impossible, forced induction is the next step, and only when that's not enough will they turn to hybrids in their supercars. The reason is simple: low weight is the most efficient tool in the pursuit of speed, while electric systems are heavy and large. Packaging is an issue when you want perfect balance. "
  21. Just looking at the car, the aero seems extreme in a way that I have not seen in previous Lamborghini road cars. The optimization for track ability looks as serious as the Gallardo converted to Super Trofeo race car but retaining the road legal status. If track times prove competitive, then I would consider this car a full success. Optimizing 700+HP, suspension, aero, tyres and AWD in a track car is an exciting direction which I have not seen before. The Veyron is too heavy for track work, while twin turbo Gallardos are under tired and perhaps lacking in down force. Within the right track. I hope the Veneno to perform better than the P1 and F150 chiefly because of AWD for the slowest sections and good or equal down force for the faster turns.
  22. Wow, Lambo is finally serious about competing as a factory team!
