  1. "depends" i drive a few miles down the road to the shop, the guy takes some measurements and orders the parts. i get a call, i show up with the car, and its done in a few hours. parts and labor for $500.00 not so sure the others are that cheap, and that they can be put on by just any shop easily.
  2. i dont get why you guys waste your money on these systems. 5 Ferrari's, 3 Lambos, and i have a local shop put Magneflow polished mufflers on all my cars that i keep for any length of time. the factory headers and brackets ARE NOT DAMAGED OR TOUCHED. as in the factory crappy mufflers can be bolted right back on. my latest Magnaflow on my euro 308 GTB Qv cost me just over $500.00 with parts AND labor. do you guys just like pissing money away on these polished turd $2000+ exhausts? just trying to help. these cars are ancient guys, no reason to spend the extra money, unless its your ego paying the bills. i buy these old slow cars to drive and enjoy them.
  3. web, your pics are outstanding as always, and it was a pleasure meeting someone as professional and polite as you. great work. Michael ( i had the ugly blue Ferrari QV)
  4. yes. i am the former owner of the urraco, and am freinds with Joe, the current owner. its a very nice early euro car vin is*15176*. Joe listed it for sale a few weeks ago for around $22500. Michael
  5. same owner of all three cars. he is a L Power member also.
  6. my ribs hurt..... my wrist is numb from scrolling through 22 1/2 pages ..... what a thread.... ps, sorry for your loss of the car, glad you were not injured. sounds to me like you can just buy another baller car when the dust settles. good luck to you.
  7. just wondering why they were not there, thats why. i had an early Uracco, and those open aircleaners are not orginal. Joe Frazar has the car now, perhaps he can post pics of the engine, i am on one of my other hard drives that does not have the old lambo pics on it. his car has the same wheels this one has.
  8. where are the factory airboxes? they will be very hard to find if missing!
  9. no, Joes car is located in Savannah Georgia. the car is a real blast. pm me as i can put you in touch with him. he is a member here, but i am not sure how often he comes on and checks his pm's. i will see if i can get him to post. i think $20-$25k will take the car, but you have to discuss with him. just tryin to help!
  10. i just read the whole thread, i have not been on in awhile. rest In peace Peter, i never knew you, or met you, but you were always the life of every thread you posted to, your pictures never failed to make me laugh or smile, no matter how dark my day had been. we are all truly going to miss you, but i am honored to have been able to be here and enjoy your sense of humor during your time here. you will not be forgotten Peter2. Michael
  11. so sorry to read about your car Russell, this is terrible news.
  12. i think mid 30's would take it. i can ask Brian, as i may see him or Joe Frazar today. Andy Green Racing here in Savannah would be a good shop for a PPi. Andy's number is 912 748 5737. i have no stake in the sale of the Jarama or the uracco, i am just trying to help my friends out, its good karma! Joe is a member here and has a Urraco, a Jalpa and a Countach. now i am going to take my lowly euro 308 GTB QV for a spin.
  13. member Jfrazar has my old p250 73 Urraco for sale. i think he wants around $22-25k for it. its also euro spec, vin 15176.
  14. i know this car and have driven it. i am very good friends with the owner if anyone has any questions. Michael (Savannah)
  15. my understanding from talking with the nice lady at the counter at the dmv in november is whatever is here and registered is ok, but nothing else can be brought in. i looked into getting an Ariel Atom, or one of the really nice Porsche 917 replicas that are being made by a business in Florida. Hagerty said they would not insure the 917 , and Georgia will not allow it to be registered, so i bought a euro 308 GTB QV instead. i thought a nice 917 clone with a 3.2 liter Carrera engine would be fun. i agree the Prova is a neat design, i just question if you have cash, why you would buy one , and not get something easier to drive, register, insure, for the same price range. i thought some cars, like the Ariel Atom that had vin's would be exempted and easy to register. bear in mind i have no emissions testing or inspections where i am at, and they still said no to several cars i asked about.
  16. great thread, thanks for sharing with us!
  17. hmm Georgia will not let you register these anymore, Hagerty does not insure kit cars like this anymore, banks dont finance stuff like this, so why in the hell would you buy one with cash? seems there are other real cars you could get for that kind of money. i have read the Prova cars are a well built chassis, not sure on Lamborghini to Prova comparison, i have only driven a 85 injected Countach, and its a unique experience. i just cant see the 930 trans axle and a v8 chebby replacing the v12 and quirky Italian running gear. the interior in the kit car is a real let down, the outside shots do look neat. i will stick with my v8 lambos , unloved Ferrari's and 911's.
  18. me too. i had 2 jalpas, an 83 euro and an 85 USA, you will not save a dime buying a beater over a sorted car. the 308 ferraris for example share lots of parts with other cars and can be sorted cheaply. however, many of the jalpa parts are proprietary lamborghini, and there are only a few places that have the parts. you know the wheel bearings by themselves are $400.00 right? oil pressure sending unit is almost $300.00? you might want to see what "normal" wear and tear parts prices cost before you buy a beater. the engine and transaxle parts are extremely expensive. my 83 euro needed another gearbox rebuild, so i sold it for parts / restoration to a friend who wanted it. i would buy an urraco that runs and drives, over a beat up cheap jalpa. L Power member Jfrazar owns my old euro 1973 Urraco, and recently mentioned he may sell it since he has a Countach and the Jalpa. pm him if you want a good v8 Lambo driver and see what he wants for it. good luck.
  19. looks like a 1974 "L" car as we call them in the hobby, as they had to have the larger bumpers fitted in 74. earlier cars had smaller split chrome bumpers. the earliest cars (96 or so) had push button door handles, and were made on a separate assy line in Italy by Detomaso. this is a great looking car, i should have tried to get more $$$ for my 71 Pushbutton, but i did well enough when i sold it off. i bet the street slicks will make for some fun rides!
  20. beautiful, i had a 71 pushbutton also, vin # *1355*. you will have lots of fun with that one!
  21. PRC Desoto makes an amazing number of sealants that we use on aircraft. we seal almost every external panel for corrosion protection and aerodynamic smoothness. i don't see why one of these sealants would not work on a Countach. they also have the correct appearance, as i have spent a great deal of time around a local members black 85 Countach. i would think a CT would be sealant for rain / water intrusion, and for airflow, much like an aircraft. perhaps a non silicone sealant can be used, as silicone and paint do not mix well together. Ralph, i would love to see some pics! ** Michael - I posted some pics of the car, in Mike's red86dd (Countach Owner's thread). Thanks for your interest ! Ciao Ralph
  22. i was asked for pics of my 308. i posted pics of my 308. i had a black euro 83 jalpa, and it was delivered with a broken gearbox. i sold it to a local friend and multiple lambo owner, who is also a member here (JFRAZAR). several jalpa owners pm'd me asking me to post pics of the Compomotive wheels when they were delivered, as the pics on the web are not good quality. i agreed to sell the wheels to Joe, the new owner of my former Jalpa when they came in. i have had 2 jalpas, an uracco and 5 ferraris so far. i change cars about once a year, and own 2-3 at a time. sorry for confusing you. i am just a gearhead that can only have the old slow stuff.
