  1. Yup. The switch from distributor to coil pack was some time in 1996.
  2. A distributor cap is used in an automobile's engine to cover the distributor and its internal rotor. The rotor switches a high sparking voltage to the spark plugs so that these fire in correct sequence. The 97 VT uses coil packs instread of distributor. There shouldn't be a cap for something that is not there. Direct ignition Modern engine designs have done away with the distributor and coil, instead performing the distribution function in the primary circuit electronically and applying the primary (low-voltage) pulse to individual coils for each spark plug. In some cars, the coils are mounted together in a 'coil pack'; others utilize a coil located very near to or directly on top of each spark plug (Direct Ignition or coil-on-plug). This avoids the need to switch very high voltages, which is very often a source of trouble, especially in damp conditions. These systems also allow finer levels of ignition control by the engine computer, which assists in increasing power output, decreasing fuel consumption and emissions, and implementing features such as Active Fuel Management. What am I missing here?
  3. I drove Jason's car for the better part of a day when I was in Scottsdale and it is in great shape. If you're in the market for a Jalpa, I would seriously consider this one. Good thing is you know it's history and the previous owner.
  4. The 97 VT uses coil packs instead of distributor cap
  5. I will have to ask in the morning. I'm assuming what it took to load it on the transport and drop it off.
  6. I wish you'd just post the name of the dealer. But we know that's never going to happen........
  7. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck........ C'mon guy- your pics are from a Domani ad and Domani is in the background. What in the hell did you expect???? But wait....the car is being offered by a dealer called RPM Exotics. What gives?? Truth is this- no dealer in their right mind would ever give you $140K for you car. We've been asking you for 5 days now to provide any proof of this and you can't do anything but dance around the issue.
  8. Well let's go back to square one then................who is the dealer that offered you the rock-solid 100% guaranteed offer of $140K for your car that you are now trying to sell for $139,500????????????
  9. When does the error light come on? This was happening to me recently on my 97 and I thought I might have to replace or delete the primary cats. The light came on after a hard run that would surge the engine temp. Then the engine would lose significant power and the catalyst light would flash. This would go on for 90 seconds then the engine would return to normal. It would repeat every 90 seconds. Take your car into the nearest Lambo dealer and have their service department run some diagnostics. Turned out my cats were fine but the readings between the left and right banks were off. This was causing one of the banks to overcompensate for the other which overheated one of the cats. Settings for the banks were matched to each other and I haven't had the problem since.
  10. I figured he had it on consignment there and they were telling him they'd give him $140K for his car if he'd buy their 05 they have listed for $180K. If it's Domani in disguise then they should be outed in the general section.
  11. Helping a friend out. Black on black with delivery miles. Brand new off transport- not titled. Will sell for sticker- $146,185
  12. I call bullshit. This car is at Domani here for $139,500. Soooooooo..................the poster: 1. Never owned this car to begin with, 2. Traded it in to Domani on another car which he got ass raped on, or 3. Sold it to Domani for $140K who then immediately relisted it at a $500 loss. My money is on 1 or 2
  13. Are you getting a catalyst error light?
  14. I ran into pro golfer Paul Azinger this weekend in Sarasota at Jason Heffner's place. He was picking up his Noble. Nice car. I was very suprised to see 6'3" Azinger fit comfortably into the the small Noble which looks strikingly similar to a Lotus Elise.
  15. 99 black/tan roadster here on Ebay. Listing does not show mileage but it has 30K. Asking price is $159K and seller is telling me that it was recently inspected at Lamborghini San Diego with good outcome. If it checks out and is in good shape, I bet someone can steal this for $145 to $150.
  16. "I am offering the car below retail " What price guide is he using?
  17. I got the wheels in April of 2006. I still have the guy's number. I'll give him a call tomorrow.
  18. Nope- never received the damaged ones. The deal was done by a wheel broker who I don't see on these forums anymore- Chris Knoppe with Exoticar Auto in South Florida. When he got them in he called to tell me that two of them were damaged (i think cracked) and that they were not repairable. I went ahead and bought the two good ones.
  19. Mine was a complete set of four but two of them were damaged when they came to the person who sold them to me. I kept the two good ones. Haven't come across another set since.
  20. Last year I was able to acquire two 18" chromed roadster wheels and I have been unable to find another two to complete the set. Anyone have a lead?
