  1. Yep, Al's getting older and he's retired. -J
  2. That's right, I have SV Door Panels (conversion was done at the factory in 1996) which were fitted to work with the window lift motors. -J
  3. Does that mean you kept all the cats or did you remove some? What year is your car?
  4. super blue makes a super amber http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/ate/ate_type200_amber.jsp
  5. This is likely a scam. The seller registered their ebay account May 12 ! (2 days ago) No VIN is listed (how can you run a carfax?). As far as we know the car has already been parted out, no engine shot (as previously mentioned) and no interior shots either. whatever, sad to see such destruction
  6. Hey Keith, I just checked L of H website, no 6.0...do you mean the one at L of Dallas? -J
  7. don't know it, but you can tell the front end has likely been repainted because the turn signals are put in backwards (orange part is always to the outside) it's listed on ebay Canada! you might run a car fax on it: ZA9DU07P5SLA12342 and see where it has been -J
  8. Michelin makes a 245/35 ZR 18, this a Lamborghini-approved size and is what I have on the front rims of my SV. I would stay clear of goodrich/bridgestone tires, they are a company known to cut corners. The BFG tires are quite a bit less $ than the Michelin PS2s...fair warning, you get what you pay for. -J
  9. For the last 11 years I have always relied on Michelin, very satisfied! -J
  10. I'm sure there is more, above is just a quick update. -J
  11. Nope... got a USA VIN http://www.premiercars.com/Inventory/518/lamborghini-p3296
  12. Starting in 1998 the Diablo motor includes variable valve timing...making it much different than the 97 and prior year motors. The car in the pics on the link you posted does not have a passenger side airbag nor does it have turn signals on the quarter panels (front/rear). There is no way this car has been made legal for the USA. It is probably here on a show and display permit (limited driving and customs can yank the car from you if you break any rule, you get nothing in return, it would be confiscated). I heard about the fellow who got the 97s on the eligibility list, he and the importer he used said 'never again', the petitioning processing was too aggrevating. If you or a friend have a home in Europe you might get the car and send it over there and have a nice ride when you are visiting! -J
  13. Your welcome. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 98 Diablos are NOT on the eligible list. The process to get a car on the eligible list is very expensive and time consuming. The years are NOT exchangeable. So, for a 98, it will cost you a minimum of 18 months and probably well over $200,000. Not recommended. -J
  14. The 97 Diablos are eligible for importation. I would guess it would cost in the n'hood of $45,000 to convert (not including shipping cost to get the car to USA port). Big tickets items include USA header plates/exhaust (cats and what not). Lighting changes such as rear back up lights, side markers (front and rear). Here's a company that can help bring the car in: http://wallacelab.com/ NHTSA link: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ -J
  15. Sure, it's this car: http://www.motorcars-intl.com/vehicle_details.aspx?ID=504 which sat at MCI for 17+ months, first priced at 174, then 169 and then 157, never moved. Car has a lot of repaint, don't think any frame damage. It's an ok car. But 179 is way high for it given it sat at 157 for several months, so might be more of a story behind it. Current wholesale on that car should be around 135, so, it ought to sell for 155. And give there is a 98 Monterey Edition SV (candy red) been for sale for a while at 146 and lower, seems 179 is a bit high...but, what are you going to do, if you want a 99 SV in yellow there are only so many out there to be had. -J
  16. the Germans had all those posters removed right away...uptight indeed! -J
  17. Little refinement of the above: ABS intro'd on 98s, ditto with airbags. Lift system first out in 96 (roadsters only) and not until 98 on coupes (SV). That leaves power steering, that's not that complicated to be a concern on 94/95 models. I owned a 94VT for 7 years (from new), I thought it was an excellent car (had a few gremlins from time to time but easily sorted out). I agree Shamile and rain driving, the VT makes it very easy to go fast in the rain. -J
  18. Did you check the fuel pump pressure, maybe one of the pumps is stuck open/malfunctioning, flooding the cylinders and as a result the plugs are not able to spark and ignite the fuel?
  19. They are all the same through '95MY. They are out of production, Evans said they might make a run of them. You might call them. http://www.evansauto.com/ -J
  20. I know of more than one SE30 in Asia (Japan mostly) that had normal windows. There really were not options but the factory would do pretty much anything you wanted back then. -J
  21. FYI: 98 is the first year SVs were imported to the USA. You might find a Canadian 97 SV but zero were made for the USA. 94 and 95 VTs are hardtop coupes. 96 and 97 VTs are Roadsters. -J
  22. Thanks, but I would not classify 1500 and 7500 as you indicate as being "big services". I change my engine oil every 2 years or 3000 miles, whichever comes first. So, "mileage" is not the only "clock" to go by... -J
  23. What do you do at these services? thx, -J
