  1. Mark Webber giving an interview on BBC1 now saying that he and Charlie Whiting had a very heated discussion last week regarding the start of the race. He was also saying that due to the lack of downforce the cars are struggling with aquaplaning more so than any other years. Some drivers had so much spray in front of them they were using parts of the grandstands as braking points because their usual markings were obscured by the spray. I seem to sucking arse in the forum fantasy league http://fantasyf1game.net/league/table/2926
  2. So Australia was finished in relatively good weather but under a safety car Malaysia was stopped due to rain. China was a washout So in Bahrain you would expect decent weather (even though the place is partially called (ironically) Rain. Sundays forecast... Sand storm. No joke.

  4. The 09's have a 4.9 engine as opposed to the previous 4.7s. IMO more alarming deprecation drips are to come with the advent of the V12 Vantage.
  5. I doubt it, look at the Ferrari document scandal along with this "liar" situation, Dennis's credentials are not gleaming and his knowledge is with running a team, not a full blown circus. Flavio's ownership at QPR has shown what a useless interfering incoherent old fool he really is; 7 managers since 2007, they have won fcuk all. Funny ol' Flabio should be mentioned, he quite clearly is a bigger embittered whinging cock hole than people give him credit for. Click - Grumble moan grumble - FIA are letting two rubbish drivers lead the championship, one retired person and the other a slow driver Button responds with "Why did you try to recruit me this year then?" Doh.
  6. Cue lots of copycat diffusers this weekend folks because they are deemed legal. http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2009/04/15/...l-confirms-fia/ Now begs the real question. The "other" teams are moaning about how complicated and expensive it'll be to incorporate this new design into their current cars. So, if they have these new devices in a couple of weeks then either: - they were lying about the cost/time to develop their own versions or - they were already working on them (and hence were pretty sure they were legal and were wasting the courts time) Lets face it, there is zero R&D costs when you copy someone.
  7. Who to put in that seat though? No one really knows if McLaren have another Lewis in the wings, lots of good drivers with current F1 seats but look at when Alonso was in the team, not every driver is a team driver like Heikki is.
  8. Yeah his spin viewed from an onboard camera in the car behind looked comical yet unnerving, shows how difficult these cars really are when they are run outside of their optimum conditions. Classy driving from Button with some ice cool tactics from the team. Good little race that.
  9. Not the best sound quality but probably one of the best tracks off a mediocre album
  10. The gearbox is designed by Ricardos. It will go wrong!
  11. What Rob said. This time exactly last year my Grandfather passed away whilst my mum was in hospital having an operation. She was under the knife when I my dad and I had a row about going to the funeral in France. It has changed the relationship between my dad and I but by me going to France I met up with a whole load of family that I have not met in years. So during the wake we are sitting around the table and my cousins and I start talking about inane stuff and Facebook comes up. Ever since then I have been in really close contact with my cousins and their lives whereas as before we knew each other but not well enough. Now mum has made good progress and I got her laptop she too can follow what goes on with her family. It was a great stepping stone for her and now she talks to her sisters and her Aunties (who are very elderly) using Skype. In fact during the wake Facebook launched some fantastic anecdotes that always brings a smile to my face when I think about them at work. Without these stepping stones that facebook put in place the family would not be so strong and now we have this amazing unity that has grown against a certain member of the family that is hell bent on taking the family to court over every single piece of inheritance. Ok it could be said it boils down to your relationship with your family but through the lows of the last 12 months Facebook has been great for subliminal moral support. Plus I get to see pics of my cousins hot Parisian friends. I am friends with some people from school and as Rob rightly says you can prevent some other people from viewing you - you can set so many privacy levels. There has been some people that I would not give the steam off my shit to try to contact me and they go straight into the block list. Some people I would like contact but not for them to know too much about me and I have set what they can and cannot see on my profile.
  12. Stolen from another forum. Background
  13. fcuking right that is offensive. The Queen's mother has been dead for years. Now giving the Queen an ipod is actually a good symbolic gesture, an American product but designed by an Englishman.
  14. Hamilton promoted to 3rd because of Trulli passing Lewis under yellow flags. Now some could say he was gifted positions because of the crash etc but to get where he did from the back is very impressive let alone with a force-light car. Toyota are appealing.
  15. Interesting race, great drive from Hamilton and the Toyotas to get where they are. But wow, team Brawn, Button was immaculate.
  16. BBC have a few interactive options, the best being a onboard camera. They rotate between the cars but with Lewis's overtakes it makes for great footage. I have the main footage on my tv and the onboard on my PC.
  17. A lot of credit has to be given to the BBC for their commentary team, Eddie Jordan gives a very honest and sometimes alternative view, Crazy Dave Coulthard with Martin Brundle. Martin's pit lane walks are really good, he just talks to anyone even if they are giving an interview to someone else!
  18. Well I decided to do some research into this... I got side tracked... Really sidetracked... But I have found This & this nice little article
  19. Ferrari supported Brawn and co behind the scenes with advice on what to do with the team etc in the early stages of the buyout. Ol' Bernie runs a tight ship on the F1 scene, it is his baby and he normally introduces sponsors to teams because he is always concerned about the image of the sport. So the impact of a no-sponsored team in a media-led sport could be damaging. Ferrari apparently smoothed over concerns that Bernie and co had. Ron Dennis introduced Mercedes to the Brawn table. So look at the three teams that lodged the appeal. Renault, they are just pissed that they did not interpret the rules like the other three teams have. The FIA cannot really intervene until the race starts and so far they have acted properly. Red Bull, running a Ferrari engine but have an odd push rod suspension setup which means they cannot use this diffuser type. The diffuser is supposed to help by .5 seconds a lap yet they cannot really afford to change their suspension set up to accommodate the aero changes in time. Ferrari, engine suppliers to Red Bull do not want their engine products to be made to look slow so they jump on the appeal ban ship. So my money is on the diffuser being classed legal and all the teams follow suit with Virgin Brawn et al dropping back into the pack. McLaren have done an amazing job of building a dog of a car, it does not look out of shape other than it cannot grip its way through the corners and already a nod to reliability issues. I don't think tomorrow will be a fantastic race (Australia never is) but it will throw up the odd interesting result. Still time for people to join up for the forum fantasy F1... Here
  20. Apparently Ferrari along with McLaren Mercedes were quite instrumental in getting that team together and Bernie for supplying them a new sponsor. Now he has two cars on the first two positions. Impressive. Ferrari and McLaren in qualifying = not so impressive.
  21. Thats the cool thing this year in the UK the coverage is back on the BBC with interactive features. For the past couple of years we had sucky ITV which went to adverts everytime something interesting was about to happen. I think it will be filmed in HD next year. Monaco will look amazing.
  22. Interesting second practise. The cars with suspect diffusers are fastest. McLaren look like dogs.
