  1. Hello. I have a 1998 Diablo SV, can someone tell me where the Power steering Reservoir is located? I think it is behind the passenger side carbon fiber panel in the engine bay. I don't want to remove it until I get a confirmation from someone who knows. Thanks
  2. When the car was wrecked at the time, if my memory serves me right Lamborghini of Chicago did the work as the kit was readily available and was a nice upgrade at the time. I actually was going to pull the trigger on this back 9 years again, until I saw the pics Roy provided me of the car hit awaiting to get the work done at the dealer. Full disclosure A 1 for Roy Cats. The whole front end up to the front fire wall was blasted, a major impact hit. Thus I moved on to my Monterey Edition SV . Based on that pic plus the carfax was enough for me to pass. Now for a second Diablo I would buy it but not at that unrealistic price “My Opinion”. It does look sick!!!
  3. Not all Monterey Editions can with Chrome Kinesis. Mine is # 5 and I have a photo of all 20 that shows some with chrome rims and others with the factory black faced rims. Mine came with the Black faced rims not chrome. You can also search on YouTube to see the collection back in 98 at the Running of the Bulls to Monterey.
  4. Hey you never know throw out a number that is realistic and you may get a bit
  5. Hello, I have a set of black plush Keith Collins Floor Matt's that say Diablo in red. They have the leather stitched heal pad. They are an inch thick and very, very plush. I had them in my 92 Diablo and my Diablo Monterey Edition SV. I replaced them with a beige set and now have the black pair up for sale. These mats went for 800 new and are no longer made by Keith. Each has a certificate and his signature stitched on the back. I can provide pics if interested via text 516 313 8386. The condition from 1 to 10 being perfect I would say they are a 9. the Passenger side is brand new (10) and the driver side is an (8) I am asking 450 plus shipping. About Keith: Keith Collins is a self-taught, Los Angeles-based artist and designer who has been creating handmade tapestries for over five decades. His works include interior rugs for residences and businesses, custom car mats, and original wall hangings and paintings. Keith’s studio practice as a fine artist has existed alongside his commercial career. The work includes a selection of wall tapestries consisting of more than 100 colors of mixed media, created through a labor intensive-process, and sewn with vintage sewing machines. These works have been included in local and international private collections. Keith’s automobile mats have been commissioned for luxury sports cars, and range in style from traditional to custom designs. Keith’s tapestries for interiors can be found in both residential and commercial locations. Prized for their uncompromising craftsmanship, Keith’s tapestries bring acoustic control and warmth to interior design. Cheers
  6. Congratulations, I own #5 it is Russo Vik with 13k miles. To answer the wheel question. They were decided by the factory as none of the cars were sold prior to the release at the Cali Monterey Concourse in 98 other than for the exception of the first was sold to a lottery winner a few days prior to the display. Cheers
  7. I own # 5 and the plaque with the number is either on the center upper dash or behind the driver seat rear window dash area. Mine is on the rear driver side window dash. I have seen others on the center dash area. They all came with the plaque though.
  8. I noticed that I have no AC. I tested the compressor directly bypassing the center controls and it works and blows ICE cold air. So I know the Compressor works and I have Freon. Has anyone got a clue as to why I cannot trigger the compressor to come on from the center control module. When I push the buttons air blows hot even when I reduce the temperature on the screen indicator. I can still control the intensity of the air coming out of the vents but it just blows hot air. I do notice on initial start up of the car the air that comes out is a bit cool but after 5 minutes it turns to hot air.
  9. I think 236K was good money for a non original Monterey Edition SV. I would think that a non molested car with close to equal mileage would be in the 250 - 275 range. What are you guys thoughts? That price sure makes me happy.
  10. You are correct a local Long Island stereo shop owner had it for awhile then sold it and shipped it to Peru. At the time he had the original chrome oz rims for sale which I was considering for my 92 but they were in bad shape so I passed. Beautiful SV in person.
  11. #05 -WLA12011 That's Mine #15 - WLA12021 is the one I saw in Jersey getting the engine done.
  12. Just saw that #15 dark blue with a light cream interior with a silver SV lettering being restored in New Jersey. The engine was completely dismantled. So far I have accounted for 5 thus far.
  13. I have # 5. Does anyone know how many are still on the road vs totaled of the 20?
  14. Was this at one of the auctions i.e. Mecum
  15. I did drop one in the door sill but I was able to retrieve it with a magnet!!
  16. Fantastic just as presented it the pic an easy fix. Took me all of a minute to figure it out and pop the cylinder out Lastly, I never use the key and I know exactly when it happened. I was at a show and the Diablo was in the sun. I parked it and during the course of the day it cracked. It definitely was the heat. Thanks
  17. Thank you I will try this. I should have the new housing delivered shortly. I will pull the cylinder out as described when the new part arrives.
  18. Hello, I need some support. I am replacing my door push button on the drivers side as the key surround is cracked (Common occurrence with Diablos). I have the button removed but I cannot seem to figure out how to remove the Key cylinder so I may insert it into the new button surround. Can someone who has done this before tell me how to remove the Key Lock Cylinder? Thanks
  19. This never has happened before and I wanted to share my experience. My inspection expired and I recently took my 98 SV to the local mechanic shop to get inspected. The mechanic did his normal tour of the SV and confirmed that all was perfect as it should and plugged his own Diagnostic tool to determine if there were any codes, all was fine. He proceeded to plug in the NYS Inspection machine to begin it's own diagnostic and to our surprise the machine could not communicate through the OBD. Thus it Failed due to "Unable to Communicate" He attempted 3 times with no success. FYI, NYS has a new system and software called SYSTECH. He thought maybe it was his machine due to some plug damage issue. I took it to another shop on my way home and the same issue occurred. I called him and we concluded that possibly the new software from SYSTECH does not have a 98 Diablo on record. Well this morning I called DMV provided them the overview of my dilemma and the shops name and facility #. They advised me to call SYSTECH. After calling them and conferencing in DMV it was indeed determined that my car was not captured and did not exist even though it has been registered in NY for the past 8 years. In the end DMV authorized the shop to enter my vehicle manually into the SYSTECH inspection machine and generate an inspection ticket without plugging into the OBD. I now have an inspection sticker. I asked if I would have to do the manual process again next year or if the software would be upgraded with my vehicle's information by then. SYSTECH stated it should be resolved by then. I highly doubt that I am the only vehicle that has or will have this problem with the implementation of this new Inspection NYS Software "SYSTECH".

  21. That particular 97 Canadian SV I know well. The owner at the time could not get it inspected as it did not have the OBD plug to get it inspected. If I recall correctly it was sold through Champion Motors on L.I. at the time. The previous owner from LI if he sees this will add further detail, also from what I understand when it went to the Canadian Dealer the mileage came into question as it had changed to much lower digits once they tried to sell it.
  22. I would like to add to the OP's question - May I ask what has caused the price of these cars 98 - 2001 to go up so dramatically in the last few months? Last year if I remember correctly a 98 Diablo well kept would fetch 140 - 150, now the prices have doubled if not more. I see the 94-96 VTs are hovering around 140 now not as much of an increase. There is a 98 SV on ebay that the gent is asking 360K. I know you can ask what you want, but is this reality of what the market is pushing for these end of design years? I have a 98 Monterey Edition #5 with just about 13K miles and I sure hope this is true. I sure hope the market experts will chime in i.e. Roy Cats
