  1. hey so we got a new forum, these coming back too?
  2. makes me wanna just liquidate most of the shares i've got, hold out, and enjoy the savings when it hits.
  3. Housing here in central oregon is insane. property is insane. cost of living is insane. it feels like 2007 here in central oregon again.
  4. I have not. My machinist expects around 300hp. Then again, Derek E's Jalpa dyno'd in at like 180-190 to the wheels. Stock is 255. I'm uncertain if that's an engine dyno or at the wheels. Either way, regardless, it'll be better than stock and that's all I care about, with efi that starts up happily, runs happily and has zero issues that don't require me constantly fcuking with the bastard DCNFs. Sorry for the late response everyone. Work has been insanely busy, and even tonight I've gotta get back to it, but I wanted to share the progress of the airboxes, which are ready to print. At high quality, 100 microns, it's going to take roughly 14 to 18 hours for each piece. Should have it on the car by the end of the week if I time it right. Can't wait to see the first one on the car. Finally can have some airboxes to fight the heat of the engine bay!
  5. Alright, finally working on the airboxes. My brain hurts enough for one night. Used Rhino to do a quick sketchup of what i want them to look like and am slowly working in google sketchup to get it where it needs to be. My brain hurts enough for one night so that's enough progress for tonight.
  6. glad y'all are still loving it. next up is a new street tuning session and then a dyno run.
  7. got all of them printed out and in. the flow /seems/ much better, i need to flow test with a meter. but since there's no lip it's unmistakably better. response seems good. i need to get some pretty hardware to make them not just a test fit. after multiple revisions i've got some perfect 100 micron printed 40mm DCNF style velocity stacks. I already had one guy ask to buy a set on another forum so I was like "alright" and printed off another pair and sold him some. perfect 40mm DCNF velocity stack fit because why settle for retrofitting right? Haven't slept much. Quit my miserable corporate job to go to work for a local company with a paybump and amazing work. But it's a lot of work. Slept maybe 12 hours this week? Doesn't matter, love my team, love what I do now. This weekend is sleepy time and lambo stuff.
  8. Got a finished product at last. Multiple revisions and made some that fit them PERFECTLY with my own flare. Tried one out on my way to breakfast and the fit is perfect. Printing the last few and i'll have a full custom set. Plenums to be printed next. Got another 8 hours of printing to get these out since last 2 are at the same time. I need a larger printer already lol.
  9. So the velocity stacks from the original 42mm DCNF webers are a flow killer since they don't match. Been working this week on making some that I can print out. After that i'll print out some air boxes. These are 40mm, with a 7 degree peak at the top, then used some bends and flares to make a nice round bit at the top and merged them. Should be a nice improvement.
  10. Well guys I got tired of trying to find stuff that would "kinda fit" due to the holes in my center console and what not. I bought a 3d printer... figured i'd share my adventures so far. Night 1: Nothing works. I can get it to load filament, things are groovy there. But literally nothing sticks. After using a bunch of online calibration methods I came to the conclusion that my nozzle needs to be much closer than "a piece of paper" due to the ridiculously thin layers mine puts down. (100 microns) Night 2: It's printing, but stuff looks like trash. I keep messing with it, and it slowly gets better. Night 3: A friend who does this stuff for a living calls me and walks me through the various steps over the phone. I video call him, we figure out it needs to be even CLOSER. I print some super shitty models and they look like garbage. Night 4: Finally stuff is printing halfway decent. Needs more calibration. But it's CLOSER. Night 5: I've now spent 8 hours printing objects. I look up the specific material I'm using online, set new temperatures for the heat bed and filament. I finally after loading my console piece in from my software get it started and WHOA. It looks good! Layer 1 at last is good. 9 hours remaining. Not perfect, but it'll be good enough to look good and use. Today: Wake up part is nearly finished and looking much better, only tiny calibrations to go from here. Came home, and holy crap it was finished! Threw some hide on it, cleaned off the excess material, trimmed it to fit the switches. I ended up hunting some down from a random dude in Austria of all places, I could literally not find ANY more of them, said screw it, bought them because factory, and threw them in here. Need to test switches and run wires first, but man, finally! Figured I'd share some pics of the progress from the failed prints, terrible prints, horrific prints, and finally the decent one. The worst part about calibrating it is that the only way to really properly find out is making tiny adjustments and doing an entire first layer, throwing it away and repeating. Here's my failed prints next to the decently finished one (still not perfect) Here's the good one before the final print, but the power went off during a power surge, entire print failed. Another layer of a failed print. Finally, the decent one. Not cleaned up, but fits where I want it. The switches fit! Time for hide After trimming, glue, hide, and fitting. Not putting it in till i run wires, but sweet! Keep in mind this isn't the stock location for the switches. They're further up, but... the previous owner moved the window switches there and put a gauge pod where the original switches were for head temps. I'll be replacing those with O2 banks.
  11. Thank you for the kind words everyone. I'm not even sure what to say. You've all been so supportive to me and LP feels like a second family to me, it really does.
  12. I feel like i need to post this. It feels like I waited all day to do it, but it's more like 32 years because I wanted to do this since I was a kid.
  13. I picked up about 10 copies of the Wall Street Journal today at starbucks for frirends and family. Page A10. Turned out so good!
  14. I don't know yet. Come summer time I want to take it to a trackday, and also would love to take it to consorso italiano. I'd love nothing more than to meet valentino balboni. He's my childhood hero.
  15. https://www.wsj.com/articles/love-for-lambo...4903228?tesla=y if that doesn't work maybe try it from his post which seems to work https://www.facebook.com/ajbaime/posts/7788...234?pnref=story
  16. Just got done with the interview portion. The article will be online for the Wallstreet Journal on january 2nd, and in the paper Wednesday, the 3rd.
  17. Wallstreet Journal photoshoot was fun. Unfortunately, the nut on the rearmost engine mount backed out due to a nut not being nylon and staying in place. Ended up limping it home. But I got it fixed last night and we had an epic amount of fun. Super nice people. Emissary brought his murci and came along for moral support, and it meant the world that he showed up. He's such a good dude and an awesome friend. It was nice to have a fellow lambo nut there to be supportive. I celebrated with a behike 56 i've been sitting on for 4 years, and a bottle of lamborghini campoleone that a friend gifted me for the occasion.
  18. I don't even know how to feel. Kind of how i feel. "I don't know what to do with my hands"
  19. The Wallstreet Journal caught wind of my build and is coming for a photoshoot and interview on sunday. I don't even. I can't even. Cloud 9!
  20. Just kidding, almost 17k again. ROLLERCOASTER
  21. I just want a pullback so i can get in on the game.
  22. He was cool. Basically told me nicely to slow it down and fix my headlights. He was smitten by the car and spent most the time telling me how cool it was.
  23. Got a warning from the neighborhood cop tonight, here's test drive #5. You can watch from the beginning if you wanna see the first test drive shenanigans.
