  1. I realize this topic has been discussed a few different times, but as prices change, more options become available. Basically I want to be in at the 250k mark or less, so maybe a few of these cars are out of scope, but I don't think so.. who knows. Here are my thoughts as possible options, and lets keep the fan boy shit on the side, as many of us, have other moniquers in our garages besides just Lamborghini. So I am really partial to convertibles, after my Murci Roadster, I feel like I just have to have another, if I am going to replace my murci with another 'me' car. My considerations are: (these are not in order of preference) 1. 458 (coupe, as converts I think are above 250k mark) 2. LP640 Roadster (I still love my murci, but I just want the extra power, and drive line upgrades). 3. MP4-12c (Convertible) 4. LP570 or LP560 (Convertible only) 5. F430 Scuderia (This I can live with coupe or convert, but would prefer convert). My problem is, I actually want a fast car, and as sad as it is, I feel my murci is more show then go. Yup, it will beat 99% of whats on the road, but I am not 100% confident I will always win, as much as I am in the GTR. The gtr is ugly, so just driving it, doesn't feed my soul, I will use it as my daily beater, and my grocery getter, but I then want something 'special' but also has to be fast, (beating the GTR with it would be fantastic, but I wont hold my breath). I want to drive this car often, and so reliability and usability is important (yes I know, oxy moron with exotics), but my murci has been great, and anytime I drive it, I can help but think I am crazy for wanting to 'upgrade' to something else. But I just want something 'more' after the 2+ years with the Murci, and the 8000+ miles I have put on it. You guys have likely had all these cars, and I'd like just honest feedback on whats a good 'upgrade' over the performance, and possible 'style' of the Murci. I actually really love the look of my murci, I am not into the big loud colors, so maybe something that's over the top, isn't a huge deal to me? (I know the mp4 gets slammed for its lack of exotic style). Here is my car, for a sense of what I like:
  2. I know but I swear my 06 roadster, seems to have tpms in the tires, but yes, not supporting equipment in the dash is my guess. Also are you sure it didnt start with the 07's? Thats the start of the lp640 in the US. Matter of fact, lp640 started in 06 for rest of world, so maybe thats why some 06 murci's MAY have tire pressure sensors in the wheels, but no supporting dash equipment to monitor them. Just a thought. Jon
  3. Not having issues, but this would be good to know as a Roadster owner. Any luck finding the procedure?
  4. Sorry, so the search continues. Good luck. Sorry if you bought the plane ticket and all that and it was a waste. Cant remember what day it was, but your welcome to fly in still and I'd show you my murci Its always nice to meet real owners and find out about the cars by someone who really knows them. Who knows, maybe you could convince me to sell mine ;-)
  5. PM means 'private message' Check your 'new messages' section on this site and you'll see I gave you my phone number. If you cant find it, I'll just txt it to you.
  6. uhhh.. tons? i think that must be a relative term.. lol.. as a murci owner, I hardly consider it a ton. Especially as a roaster owner and the roof eats up 50% of it.
  7. sorry, I never saw this, I was expecting it to go to PM. anyone can read this site i'll send you a pm. with my phone number, I should be able to help/be there.
  8. Yup that's totally stock color. I have the 235 fronts and 345 rears setup. i'd prefer as much as a 265 up front, and I am going to do it when the 235s run out.
  9. http://www.carid.com/tires.html http://www.carid.com/tires/19-inch/ this should help. I dont recommend the place for pricing, BUT they seem to list EVERY size possible for a given wheel size. This should help you find options/alternatives. they are one of my online go to tools when I need to tire shop. I like to plus size tires, so this helps me know what are really out there for sizes, and then I run the calculations for rolling radius to decide what setup will work. Jon
  10. not at all, but this setup I have DOES work with AWD. They are the very expensive Pirelli setup. I'll be switching to PS2 or PSS once these are spent. Anyone wanting to buy my Hercules wheels, let me know
  11. This is the very reason, I do my own work on the Murci. sure my GTR has a warranty and I let the dealership work on it (but I have a very strong/good relationship with them, and I trust them). The lambo on the other hand, I trust no one, I do my own work, and I am happy for being able to do it. It means I know EVERYTHING thats done with the car, and I never cut corners to make a job quicker/easier. I do the right thing everytime, becuase me and the car are worth it. Jon
  12. I know this isnt what your asking, but I did the 19/20 setup and love it. I also still have the stock Hercules wheels (best wheels ever made other then the SV ones, but I like my new ones better). (My wheels and interior match.. no bullshit) Maybe buy 20 inch rims for just the rear?
  13. This! I only like the SV wing on real SV's adding them to Murci or Lp640s looks wrong. This wing he picked is the best I have seen hands down. I want someone to buy one, and let me know about the quality, as the Premier wing this is based off of, is like $1000 MORE.
  14. dont give up on these cars. I've enjoyed mine for 2 years now, and I love it. Sure its nerve racking, but its also the most fun I have ever had owning a car! I've driven mine from 2400 miles when I bought it to 9500 now, and honestly, any issues I have had with the car were self imposed, otherwise its been fantastic, and I actually would feel totally comfortable driving it cross country and not worry about mechanical failures or issues. work out the bugs and move on. I am guessing the plugs install did somethign with the throttle bodies, you certainly have to take off one of the throttle body tubes to get to the plugs. I had to do both on passenger and driver throttle bodies closest to the driver/passenger seats. Wonder if the mechanic unsettled some dirt or something when he did that. Jon
  15. Oh no shit? The DTC will give me the very specific cyclinder it was complaining about? Thats good to know. Mine have cleared and never returned, but I'll gladly go to a lambo shop and have it read, if I ever get them back, so I know exactly which is the problem.
  16. Sorry Fcris! You've always been so helpful, I hate to hear this happen to such a good guy.
  17. Deal. PM me with details, and I'll give you my number.
  18. Yep its definitely that car: 02/21/2014 Fluid Motor/Union Station Plainfield, IL 815-230-2900 is in the carfax. Pay for my gas, and I'll go check the car out. The clutch is the big issues, and its already been replaced very recently. The rest I can easily tell if there are issues with the car. I'll take my Murci and compare. I've had mine for a couple of years, and have put about 7k miles one it. I do my own maintenance, so I know these cars very well. Jon
  19. I could go check it out for you. I also think thats the car that they did the clutch on at Fluid Motor Union: http://www.fluidmotorunion.com/sections/pr...tch-replacement
  20. Go to the other site, there is a 5 page thread going on about coil packs for 05/06 murci's. I have heavily discussed in the thread. I just did a full plugs and packs replacement on my 06. Jon
  21. Where to get that front end?
  22. That looks like a premier knock off? And I absolutely love the premier wing this is based off of. If it wasnt so damn expensive (premier's version), I'd have already bought it. Its all show, no go.. but it looks so damn good. I totally think you should do it. If its a duplicate of the premier wing, I'd be down with getting it. Jon
  23. suprised you are having issues, my bmc dropped right in, with no drama.
  24. Sorry, and I am not attacking, so please dont take it like that. But this is completely wrong, you CANNOT clear the code right before you go to the Emissions inspection. Trust me, been there, tried that. It will tell them that it was recently cleared (effectively) by saying that its 'not ready' becuase it requires X amount of run cycles for the system to 'sign off' on the various emissions checks. If enough drive cycles hasnt occured, it will mark the element NOT READY, and will require you to drive around more and get enough 'cycles' in for it to determine if its working correctly or not. Again, I did this game with my Dodge Viper in NC and I was shun away told to come back once the drive cycles had completed. Course, as soon as enough completed, is when the ECU would complain about the CATS being inefficient. Best thing to do, is come up with a system that wont throw CEL or MIL and you'll pass the inspection.
  25. As everyone has explained, its the TIRES that matter, not the wheels. I just went from 18s to that exact 19/20 setup you reference above, but the real issue is the size tires you put on them. Please note, its not about making the tire sizes identical to each other in rolling radius, its about matching the FACTORY RATIO for the two. Anyone who has ever seen a set of these tires side by side, will EASILY be able to see the rears have a much larger rolling radius then the fronts, the reason being, the front differential has a DIFFERENT axel ratio from the rear, so to adjust/make up for that, they run a different size tire radius in the front (or vice versa). Thats why peole often screw these up, either they try to get the same rolling radius (bad idea) on all 4 tires, OR they get the ratio wrong in which one set is moving faster then the other (horrible on the AWD system, but completely a non issue with RWD cars). I remember doing some math a while back, and you can actually do 285/30/18 (has the same rolling radius as the 245/35/18) or something on the front, but you need to send the wheels off to be widen by 1 inch, to use that size tire on the front, but the rolling radius stays the same, and would not affect the AWD adversely. Anyways, I am RWD now, but still have a setup that wont affected AWD if I decide to go back (likely only to sell the car).
