  1. Oh Mr Martin.... I got you Been there done that. the BITCH of it, is that you HAVE to have the helm joints (their correct name, not your rose shit name ) presetup to the right length before you put it back together as there is NO adjustments once you put the two together. ALSO, I actually got a hold of the manufacturer and I had the parts come directly from Italy, and there is a MUCH stronger version, so that will never happen again. I have spares The version you have, if you got form lambo is the lesser grade ones, but will last as long as your current ones did, but get ready to do it again, in that same amount of time/mileage as those joints take a huge amount of the impact that normally would be transmitted through a roofline. I can help, again, been there, done that. Sorry if you paid the $100 I think for those oem ones, but they are great spares , I'd probably get the stronger ones if I were you.
  2. No contest, anyone who has driven both can attest that CCBs are hands down better. Sorry its not about tracking the car, its about having an amazing set of brakes that are HUGELY reassuring. Hit the brakes on a CCB car at high speeds or in panic situations and it seems like a boat anchor was just throw out the back. Stiching over CCBs? GTFO here...
  3. I'll see what the guys say. Again, I am not going to jump into this blind. I'll do some work. No I am not sending my car off, and I like the idea of keeping it local, and If they want 8k for headers too, I am going to pass. I just cant justify that for this car. We'll see where this goes, fortunately that can be covered later, heads and clutch are the immediate need right now. AND converting to STICK, if Dwiggs will give some guidance. Does he not come around here anymore? (Yes, I PM'd him) Thanks, Jon
  4. I know nothing about these guys, are they good? I'll contact them if you have experience with them being a trustworthy shop! Let me know! Jon
  5. It works, I fabricated my own setup, Basically you just need longer bolts and spaces for what ever height you want. Its actually a more comfortable ride now, as your ass wont be on the hard ground, there is more 'give' in this setup. No the rails donw bend, but the seat cushion no longer bottoms out on the hard flooring. I've had this setup for at least 2 years. The hardest part was finding the longer threads, the spacers are easily done with thick washers, you can even 'adjust' the pitch forward or back, based on how many washers you use up front vs the back. Jon
  6. While the engine is out, DWIGGGGGGGS please pm me the steps needed to convert the car to manual!! I have to try it!
  7. skipping primary cats, still allows you to run secondary cats (only used in the US), which is EXACTLY how my car is today, so losing primary cats for longer runners would be a non issue. Again, I'd love to have a set, but I cant just pay $8k for them and ship my car to them... just too much. I'll see what ASS (Please note its auto converting a WELL known GTR tuner to ASS when I put there name here, but they have a really cool computer program that can map out a whole engine bay and tell them where they have room to work, I wonder if they would take on a exhaust project for me. I will ask.
  8. Yup, and fortunately ASS is right around the corner. They did the original Tune that I think netted like another 30 rwhp and 30 rwtq or so. Yup, I already have the original 'before' so, I plan to do this very scientifically. I'll know exactly what it gets me (if anything). But I'm pretty hopeful.
  9. Honestly, everyone said that headers would net nothing, becuase supposedly the factory ones were so 'good' stock. It was finally disproved when someone got a set of headers. Sorry but go look at the nay-sayers, headers were going to net 'nothing' and real world proved other wise. Unless someone has proven that porting heads on a Murci will be of little gain, I'd rather go with real world validation (one way or the other), vs what people speculate is going to be the case. Everyone is an expert until someone proves with data what reality is. I'd prefer to prove it one way or another. If its a 4k loss, so be it, but the engine is already coming out for a clutch, so might as well tackle heads and see what happens. I'll keep you guys posted, the blocking point right now is the lambo tech making room for my car.
  10. They do not have a code. I disconnected mine, and reinstalled it. Many of us have killed out batteries too, which effectively is the same thing as cutting power to the units. They never ask for a code. This isnt the 80/90s. Most manufacturers figured out it was more nusance then theft prevention.
  11. FYI, they want 8,000 for the headers, so I'm sorry that's not an option. They also require your car on site as its an in-house job. Each set is custom made to your car. No jigs, so no mass production. There has to be other options. I'll keep you guys posted on how things go.
  12. Wish you wouldn't, as you said exactly what I thought when I read that crap
  13. In order of operation, isn't the situation or concern. Its that the clutch is already on my todo list, and so to SAVE overhead, the HEADS on a Murci aren't really removable without the motor out, so I would NEVER take on this activity if it wasn't already 'sunk cost' on an engine pull happening. Honestly if its $4k total cost for all work and labor to get a set of free flowing heads, then why not? I'll lose more then that in 'sales tax' just by switching to an lp640. Whiteout, pm me your number, I dont have it exactly on me, I'd like to do a quick chat on clutches. Side note, so you sold your murci and got an lp640? Where is that post? Thanks, Jon
  14. I got a quote on the heads pull and replace (I already mentioned the cost of the actual port job). Pulling and replacing heads for labor only is $900, but apparently I will need 2 head gaskets that aren't cheap. Not dead yet
  15. Side note, I think I am going to skip the lp640, even though its better, a modded murci for a few k more on a job I already have to do is going to be plenty good enough. Then when I'm ready, I'll jump to the Aventador. Just not seeing the point in getting the lp640 anymore, its better, but its not worlds better like the Aventador is.
  16. So a couple of things. 1. my car is getting a new clutch, its being done by a certified lambo tech who does side business at his home. He has worked on my car before under a previous lambo dealership. a. He is quoting me $6750 out the door for the complete clutch (parts and labor) b. I am going to see what he can do about pulling the heads off (Not sure on cost, but he informed me years ago, early murci's had a RECALL for their head gaskets and he has LOTS of experience while at Lamborghini pulling the heads on murci's under warranty. He was very unconcerned about yanking the heads so I could send them off (just didnt quote me price). 2. I am getting the heads ported by an industry expert, who on a previous car of mine netted me over 100+rwhp gains. He is only charging me $1800 for the complete job on the murci 3. Yeah, these fantastic headers we saw the post on, what I never saw was a follow up on when they would ever be for sale, so while they are a great option, if they arent for sale, whats the point? Has that changed?? Thanks! Jon
  17. Something wasn't right with them is my guess (those two 05's). From all others, its coming back that CCBs make no noise, including myself, so I think anyone interested in CCBs should always jump on them. They are much better then their steel counterparts.
  18. I've got over 10,000 miles on my CCBs and one thing they are not is NOISY. No clue where thats coming from but, they are hands down the quietest set of brakes I have had on any car. The noisiest is by far my GTR. Curious when you say earlier CCBs, as those only started to come out on the 05's (never an option on 04s), and I have an 06, but the 05's are no different. What 'earlier' CCBs are you talking about? Also parts did not change for the brake setup going into the lp640s either, its all the same from 05 into the lp640s. Jon
  19. Anyone have the factory cam specs for a 2006 Murcielago ?
  20. Ok, So I have owned my murcielago for about 3 years now, and I love it, but as much as I do, I still feel its not fast enough. I have gone back and forth between modding it, and just trading it in on a Mp4-12c. I kept it over the winter and wanted to get one more summer with it, but as I had expected, the clutch is up for replacement. SO... my plan... 1. Get a new clutch install (possibly a Kevlar, or if no real advantage, go stock again). 2. Send my Heads to Greg Good (who did my heads on my Viper and made some excellent gains). 3. (See if there is the possibility of getting some more aggressive CAMs for the car, or have mine reground if possible) 4. Extrude hone the intake manifolds. 5. Install my lp640 differential that I have had on the shelf for a while (stronger, able to handle the power increase). Anyone have ANY insight into any of this? Any one have the steps for pulling the heads on the murci? Please advise. Thanks, Jon
  21. Buyer beware. Seriously you have heard how much of a shithead Parin is, and yet you risk buying a car from him or one of his close friends? You'll be on here soon telling us whats wrong with the car if you buy it. Why risk it? There are a number of legitimate owners, so are selling their cars, straight forward honest people with credibility on this forum, why not stick with those guys. They loved their cars and know their history. and that much of an increase in mileage in 1 month sounds super fishy. Why risk it? Anyways, good luck, but I'd stay away from a Parin car.
  22. OK, this might be accurate for the lp640, and what I had was instructions for the 02-04 (which is closer to mine), but the 05-06 is the hybrid between those two systems. It has the automatic belt tensioner and not the earlier versions manual one (which requires a special tool to determine if its set correctly). But you do not need to break the coolent system at all, and the lp640 is missing the hydraulic front lift system pump apparently (maybe its electric in the later years?), as the AC is lower down and the lifting system pump is above it. So belt system is a bit different (wrapping around 2 pulleys on the left side of the picture, not just 1). Also you have to partially undue the housing bracket for the AC and hydraulic lifting system pump, which allows the belt to pass by the bracket, which it cannot do if you don't remove a special 3/4 inch spacer 'washer'. Anyways, its time to put it all back together, the hard part of figuring out how to get the belt back on is solved. I'll probably finish it up when I get some time over the next few days. Thanks again! Jon
  23. Sir, While I had used you before and had good service, I had temporarily switched to 'bullstuff', you just converted me back to you. I genuinely appreciate this, next order for lambo stuff is coming through you. Unfortunately, I did take this on right after posting it, and went it alone. I am done getting the new one back on, but I'll review this to see if I didn't cause myself any unnecessary extra work, as the job was a real bitch. lol. Thanks again, very good of you, its better then the 1 pager I had. Jon
  24. Looking to replace my original accessories belt on my murcielago but it seems like maybe a few things need to be removed to get the belt in the right spot? (aka around various accessories pumps) anyone know the installation procedure? Thanks! Jon
  25. also please note, there is a guy who repairs them. Out in New Jersey. I sent mine from Chicago to him, and in about 1 week he had it all fixed up and running like a champ. Reasonable price, I think it was like 175 or something for a complete tear down and rebuild of the system (including the wires). Google Murcielago Window regulators, and you'll see there is one guy who actually has an actual photo of one, and he's the guy who fixes them (and my other car models).
