  1. That looks awesome! Congrats! Now you're seriously tempting me to do the same for mine... What're your thoughts/impressions on the SP Engineering SV kit? BTW, can you let me know the parts you used to convert the single DIN radio to the double din GPS system that you have currently? I know about the front 'cage' but there should be some 'support' at the back of the GPS radio that I need to order as well?
  2. I finally managed to track down a pair of Yokohama Advan Sport 245/30/19 for my front to go w/ my 335/25/19 rear so that: 245/30/19: 24.79" in diameters vs stock Pirelli P-Zero 245/35-18 in diameter - 24.7520" 355/25/19: 25.99" in diameters vs stock Pirelli P-Zero 335/30-18 in diameter - 25.9134" Height difference would be 1.20" vs 1.16" stock (under figure) Ratio rear/front would be 104.84% vs 104.69" stock I used to run 255/30/19 (due to ill advice) and had to turn off the traction control. Now that I got the new set of of tires I actually can leave the traction control on. However, I noticed under hard acceleration the 'traction control' light will still blink a little bit then come off. Does it have anything to do w/ the fact that my Murci is RWD? Would the restoration to 4WD rectify this problem completely?
  3. Thanks for the great info. I was always under the impression that it's the ratio between the diamters of the front tires vs. the rear tires that we need to pay attention to as opposed to the absolute difference in height. For me I've gone 19" front & rear such that I can go to the extent of matching the original stock diameters: 245/30/19: 24.79" in diameters vs 24.75" stock 355/25/19: 25.99" in diameters vs 25.91" stock Height difference would be 1.20" vs 1.16" stock (under figure) Ratio rear/front would be 104.84% vs 104.69" stock Trouble is finding that 245/30/19 front is nearly impossible!
  4. captain351, how are you getting along on the stereo upgrade? I'm itching to do the same and was hoping to learn from you to ease the process...
  5. I'm actually contemplating primary cats from Fabspeed as well as Larini. In my neck of the wood, the Murcielago (RHD car in Hong Kong) are not fitted w/ secondary cats. I actually checked out the website for SP, but can't seem to find any cats. Perhaps I shall drop them a mail. Tx for the pointer.
  6. Sorry for sounding naive but what brand is LOC?
  7. With the stricter annual emmission check, along w/ the fact that it's REALLY too loud, I've decided to replace the straight pipe (cat delete) & re-install the Catalytic Converters (Primary Catalytic convertors for US models) in MY02 Murcielago. The unfortunate fact is that the original cats are no good, probably resulting from years of sitting around. So I'm looking for recommendation of (primary) cats, that: #1: would NOT trigger the Check Engine Lights (CEL) #2: will pass the smog test While I'll deal w/ the shop/manufacturer regarding concern #2, I was hoping that find a few selections that would at least satisfy #1. Thanks advance for your kind pointers.
  8. Can you tell us more about the carbon fibre housing? Looks great!
  9. Do you still have the oxygen sensors + thermal sensors hooked up/plugged in? Any issue w/ the CEL (Check Engine Light)?
  10. Some of you might remember my first post a while back abt. my not-so-perfect acquisition of my first bull. Well, as luck would have it, the car seems to have lack a bit of proper maintenance that one of the cylinder head just overheated and locked. As such, I'm in need of a new head. Given the age of the car, I'm hoping to source a working one from a salvaged car. Any reputable parts dealer that you guys would recommend? Having been a Tifosi for years, I'm having all kinds of bad luck but I'm determined to see realize my dream this time. Your kind pointers would be highly appreciated.
  11. Now that is interesting as this is actually the stock configuration according to my owner's manual....
  12. Actually I'll be curious as well as to how the TCS is supposed to work given the lack of front differential. Does it simply 'reduce/increase' torque/power transmitted thru the rear differential when needed independent of whether the front differential are adjutsed or not?
  13. I forgot to mention that my murcie is 6 speed manual. In case that makes any difference.
  14. Tx again for the quick response. As to your question on the 255 front tires, I wouldn't know as I'm a bit nervous to take it out for a spin. I'll get the tires sorted soon and hopefully solve the TCS problem.
  15. D. Wiggs, thanks for chiming in. Interesting that you mentioned about the tire sizes as that's what I've been scrutinizing myself. Currently the setup is 355/25/19 for the rear and 255/30/19. I believe the stock configuration is 335/30/18 & 245/35/18. As such, the front/rear ratio for the current setup is not quite similar to the stock ratio. By my calculation, if I simply switch the front tires from 255/30/19 to 245/30/19 then I'll have a combo that's reasonably close to the stock ratio. What do you think? Now on to the traction control, I was under the impression that it would monitor the front wheel rotational speed vs. the rear wheel rotation speed and then increase/decrease power/torque distributed to front/rear where it sees fit? As such with the front differential completely off, I would imagine the traction control system will simply go wild? May I also know of the exact modification that you did to yours? Did you simply take away the front differential? Did you also de-activate some sensors? I would appreciate if you can perhaps PM me your list of modification just so that I can check and see if mine was done in similar fashion? Hopefully I can use your modification as a reference for a tried-and-proven mod. Last but not least, would you be kind enough to elaborate why you mentioned that: "The Murci was never designed to be RWD and, frankly, never should have been." Then later on you said: "RWD modding a Murci is the absolute best change you can make." I'm a bit confused here. Thanks again in advance for sharing your wisdom. Much appreciated.
  16. Thanks. I would normally do that religiously, but the seller was very skillfull, to say the least. Given that I'm already in legal consultation, I wouldn't comment any further. I guess at some points I'll be able to give the full story for those who're interested.
  17. Happy Holidays everyone, recently bit the bullet and bought my 1st bull. A MY2002 Murcielago. While this is a very significant event for me as it's been a car that I've been lusting after for a while now. Unfortunately I fell victim to a plot between the previous owners & the inspection garage. To make the long story short, the car was 'modified' into rear wheel drive only and so only drivable with the tracking control off and this was NOT made known to me by the previous owner NOR the bloody garage. Needless to say I'm furious and checking w/ the lawyers as to ways to persue this. In the meantime, I still like the car and would like to check as to what I'm really in for if I want to fix it up to the original factory spec and here're a few questions which I hope you can bear with me: 1. Does any of you actually do this modification and what does it really involve and how does it handle? Upon detailed inspection by 'official' dealer here, the front differential was simply removed and some sensors were removed as well as a result. As such, I'm led to believe this modification was not done professionally. As such, I'm interested to find out how is it done, if properly? 2. Moreover, given that Lambo never released a rear wheel drive Murcie, I wonder if it's really a good idea to mod it into a rear wheel drive? Do you think I ran any risk driving the car in the current form or I'm committing suicide? 3. Any recommendation on how to go about fixing it back to original spec OTHER than ordering the factory replacement part? As one can imagine, the original parts, especially the front differential are very dear and certainly NOT an amount I've factored in when I bought the car. This is all very frustrating to me as I was so so looking forward to this acquisition yet it turns out to be such a major let down. Thanks for bearing with me and any pointer appreciated!
