  1. How did it work for you? Trouble free so far?
  2. Ok this morning I went to drive the car for 1st time in two weeks. Started up fine except battery logo light on dashboard came on. But computer measured the voltage being 11.5v so I drove on to nearby gas station to refuel. At the station I turned off the car and on again after the refuel. Same situation abt battery indicator light. Then abt 5 min later when I was traveling abt 30kmh the engine light came on. I was concerned so pulled over. Turned off the car but this time it wudn’t start. Computer tells me now the battery only has 10.7v. When I turned the key it wud crank once then nothing. So it does sound like the battery being flat. Speaking to my mechanic he thinks the alternator is also at fault. Hence the battery indicator came on and it’s not charging the battery properly. Anyone with similar experience here? Getting a new battery is not such a big deal but the alternator is so I waned to make sure. Thx in advance.
  3. Sorry just realized typo above, I'm using stock 18" wheel/tires setup.
  4. The car is a 2003 Murcielago w/ 6 speed. Sorry 4 leaving that out. Factory stock mechanically. Actually can anyone confirm w/ my measurement above whether my car is indeed in lifted mode or not?

  6. Hi all, looks like the problem for lifting system is back. I first had problem w/ the lifting system about 5yrs ago. When I pressed the button, the lifting system 'light' would just blink continuously whereas NORMALLY it would flash for a while then stays on once the lifting is completed. We fixed it by getting a new set of min max sensors back then. Last weekend, the lifting system light flashed continuously upon pressing the button when i was entering the carpark. After I parked, switched off and on again, I noticed the lifting system light is OFF. Pressing the button seems to make no difference at all. BUT I believe the car is in lifted mode. I drove the car slowly back home. Returned to the car the next day, same situation. light is off, pressing the button seem to do nothing AND I believe the car is still lifted. I took the measurement this time, the distance between the highest point of the wheel and highest point of the front wheel arch is abt 10cm, between the bottom most point of the wheel and the highest point of the front wheel arch is abt. 60.5cm. The car is fitted w/ factory 17" wheel/tire setup. Any one of you experienced stuck lifting system like this? More importantly, if I drive it to the dealer, would it cause any further damage or am I better off flat bedding the car to dealer?
  7. Excellent suggestion. I totally forgot about it. Sure enough it fixed the problem. Italian craftmanship!
  8. Hello all, It's been two weeks since I last drove my car so was really looking forward to the drive this morning. Got to the car, usual sequence of dis-arming the car, opened the door, turn the key, wait for christmas light to go off, then turn it further to crank and nothing. No cranking at all. New battery was installed two months ago. So I tried turning the key again but this time no x'mas light at all. Then I tried to arm-and-dis-arm cycle but nothing. No familiar arm or dis-arm chirp. I got out of the car, closed the door, tried to arm it, nothing. All I can now hear is a very brief chirp when I pressed the alarm button on the keyfob. The door does NOT lock or unlock. The alarm light between the two head rests are lit up. So I manually locked the car and walked away. Any idea/thought would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. No. It was last serviced in Nov 2016. Will try to get the car out again this weekend to see if the problem persist.
  10. Anybody w/ problem on their fuel gauge? Upon filling up this morning, I noticed that the fuel gauge still only showing abt. 25% left but the receipt clearly showed 78 litre of fuels pumped... As I cruised on, I noticed the digital fuel gauge would go anywhere between 75mi left to 200mi left and the analog ful gauge would go from amber light on (near empty warning) to about 2/3 full! I checked the fuel cap is being tightly screwed on... Any idea/clue? Thanks in advance for any help/pointer.
  11. Indeed based on the 'conventional' wisdom 235/35/19 + 345/25/20 seems to be the right combo but of course, you'll have to pay attention to the actual tire dimension. Having said that, I've heard various people on this forum, running tires combo OUTSIDE these tolerance boundary and they seem ok. Coupled w/ the fact that tire aging will lead to overall diameter shrinking, I do think the tolerance level is probably wider than we think. It's a real shame that we never got any official word on this. But then again, since you're thinking of getting new tires anyway, why not go for the popular combo of 235/35/19 + 345/25/20? Afterall the original width of the rear tires was 335 (335/30/18)...
  12. Thanks. What model year car is that page for? I checked around and was under the impression that the 2002-2004 Murcielago were fitted with 355mm rotor at front?
  13. Tx. May I know which tires u r using, if u r running 18" stock setup?
  14. I'm ALMOST there in terms of retrofitting stock rotors & calipers on my 03 hence almost ready to order the 18" tires. I was all set on the Pirelli P zero corsa combo of 245/35/18 (24.5" diameters) + 335/30/18 (25.9" diameters) then JUST learned that Tirerack has ran out of the rear ones and won't restock until end of April! :-( My local dealer suggested exact P zero rosso at same combo but looking up tire rack, I noticed that 335/30/18 is slightly larger at 26.1" diameters. Has any one run the P zero rosso combo and no problem for the front differential? (i.e. 4WD intact)?
  15. Hello Nick, I swear I was thinking about you. In fact, I was going to PM you and see how you're doing w/ your new tire setup. Your tires setup do provide a new data point that's shows the 'wisdom' gathered so far might NOT be the most accurate ones... I myself are tempted to try your combo w/ my 19" wheel setup but I've already gone far too deep as far as reverting to 18" setup. Moreover, my dealer is seriously scaring me sh*tless about trying on any further non-factory tires setup... In any case, I'm glad this is working well for you.
  16. I believe the front should be 235/35/19?
  17. Indeed you should do the whole community a favour by buying it and restoring to the properly. Provided that the car is mechanically sound, the cost of restoring the car should be reasonable, especially given the relatively low buy it now price?
  18. First off, congrats! But I'm curious about your comment on 6-speed LP640 blowing away your 6-speed 599. I would be very curious to hear more about your unbiased comment on that, given that you own both F & L! :-)
  19. This is interesting. By locking and unlocking the door via the switch at the door, I never get any chime. I only get chime when I activate & de-activate the alarm via the key fob...
  20. Yes I was 'trying' to fit the ceramic brakes onto my Murcielago stock wheel hub. Needless to say it totally failed. I shall give Sean a call and see... So in order to retrofit ceramic brakes onto your 06 roadster, may I know exact what you got? The front wheel hubs, the ceramic brakes & rotors, anything else? Would you happen to have the parts number for the wheel hubs? Tx.
  21. Tx. Do you mean opposed to me arming and disarming the alarm system, you would cycle thru the lock and unlock button for the door?
  22. Does anyone have the dimensions of the LP640 front brake disc, especially the overall radius? For LP640 stock brake set, I *believe* it's 380mm disc and I'm curious of the overall radius measured from the outmost edge of the caliper to the dead center of the wheel. I have a set of upgraded brakes w/ 380mm disc & 8 pots calipers and it measures 8.55" in radius or 17.1" in total diameters BUT it doesn't fit 18" wheels. Knowing that the LP640 brake set got the same disc size but 6 pot caliper I'm curious as to how much smaller it is compared to mine... If possible pls also tell whether it's ceramic brakes or normal steel brakes... Tx in advance.
  23. Any alternative OTHER than the stock 355mm disc + 4 pot caliper that FITS WITHIN 18" wheels, would also be greatly appreciated.
  24. Actually replaced the battery BUT I still have a small problem of non starting... First off, following advices from others, I now religiously insert the key, turn to 1st position, wait for all the lights to go off, then turn further to start the car. Problem is that I don't always start the car on the 1st go. Sometimes I would simply take the key out and re-insert it, then manage to start. Sometimes I actually have to disarm then arm the security system in order to start the car. What could be the problem then?
  25. Dear experts, I need help again: Does anyone have experience fitting the LP640 ceramic front brake set (disc + 6 pot caliper) onto 02 Murcielago? I'm trying to achieve this by fabricating an adaptor but the engineering company that does the fabrication says the head of my hub (?) is simply too big to fit the ceramic disc + new caliper??? I will visit him tomorrow to try to understand why but I'm turning to the expert here for help in the meantime! Is it truly impossible???? As some of you may recall, I'm the poor chap w/ 19" wheels & tires package: Pirelli P zero 245/30/19 vs 355/25/19. I've been looking for the rear tires for the past 2yrs anticipating that my current tires are aging but no luck. I'm giving up on hoping that Pirelli will remake these and more importantly, I don't want to deal w/ these hassles of tires locating in the future, hence I'm leaning heavily toward reverting back to 18" wheels. The problem is that the current front brake set, upgraded with 380mm steel disc & 8 pot brembo caliper, runs a total of 17.1" in diameter so literally impossible to fit into the interior of 18" wheels. (I've checked w/ two wheels manufacturer!) Knowing that the LP640 ceramic brake set works w/ 18" Hercueles/Hermera wheels, I thought it was a good idea to improve the brake performance further while enabling me to use 18" wheels hence solving my tire problem. Obviously speaking to the seller, he was positive that the brake set would fit my car w/ no or little modification... As such, any help in achieving this would be GREATLY appreciated. My last option is to go back to stock Murcielago front brake set which is definitely not something I want to do... (FYI, I've also looked at the brembo GT brake set, contrary to popular belief, w/ the disc at 405mm and 463mm total diameter including the caliper, it's already standing at 18.22" which obviously is IMPOSSIBLE to fit into 18" wheels.)
