nocab72 Report post Posted April 26, 2006 There was one unit, however, that scrambled the laser 100% of the time... Want to know what it was? Of course we do!!!
EmilGH Report post Posted April 26, 2006 Ok, no shit. I swear. This is the real deal: http://1-radar-laser-jammers-detectors.com...jammers/m40.php TOTALLY unreadable by the laser guns we tested that were currently in service by the highway patrol in a MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR metropolitan area. rdb001 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 What detection is used by the CHP and others in California? I have a Valentine, and it is great at detection, but the false alarms really annoy me so I end p turning it offmost of the time. City police us K, Ka and laser (California). I've used detectors a long time and V1 is the best.
SelfMadeTeen Report post Posted May 12, 2006 I have two basic questions: First, I'm assuming These are illegal here in Cali right? Second, Wouldn't cops use common sense when seeing a Lambo driving by fast, and their laser isnt working on it. and stop you anyways? Stupid questions perhaps
Ag02M5 Report post Posted March 2, 2010 Hmmm so no good places to hide away the V1 body and do a remote or mirror indicator?
GBGallardo Report post Posted March 2, 2010 Hmmm so no good places to hide away the V1 body and do a remote or mirror indicator? Thread bump of the year I personally use a V1 and a Passport 9500 combo and that is a pretty strong setup with the two of them together. Though here in Florida it's all laser so eventually I will do the Laser Interceptors too. Here's a mirror indicator installed:

I have the Blinder M45 in my Cayenne. I get a lot of false alarms from cars with some form of laser cruise control. Lexus, Infinity and BMW cause most problems. It really can be a pain in the ass when the alarm goes off and you have to react quickly, only to find it is an Infinity in front of you that is setting it off. ContinentalGT Report post Posted March 4, 2010 I have V1 stealthly installed in my rear view mirror on both my Bentley & Superleggera. Both were custom installations and ran upwards of $4,000+ per car, in case anyone wanted to know the going rate. I feel its a great investment when its time to resell the vehicles, who is going to look at it and say they dont want it? Feel free to PM with any questions.... mikestyle Report post Posted March 4, 2010 K guys yes the V1 is very good as a stand alone unit, good for switching from car to car. However if anyone has done some heavy research lately, the V1 is kinda outdated. Plus if you are gona get it installed/hidden in your car i would say that is a bad decision, and honestly a waist of money. Now i have done my research and the honest best unit out there hands down is the Escort Passport 9500ci / radar shifter. Do some research and you will see. Now i know a lot of you have the V1 and im guessing most of you will not agree with me however anyone who is looking at buying radar to permanently install DO NOT get a V1. Do some research and then you will see what im talking about.
jkrutch Report post Posted March 4, 2010 What radar detectors are you guys using in your ride. My dealer is really guiding me away from any hard wired system. Claims only problems can result. That just leaves me with the Escort Solo S2 :?: Get a V1 and hardwire it into the fuse box at the passenger side footwell. You won't have any issues and nothing comes close to the V1. Do some research and then you will see what im talking about. Outdated? It still wins every comparo and after having arrows showing me where the threat is coming from everything else would seem archaic...couldn't disagree more. My V1 is hardwired, but certainly not permanent. When I sell my car I simply leave the wiring in place and take my V1. 99% chance the next guy will be using a V1 as evidenced by the replies on here so they'll be happy to see the wiring. Mine is mounted above my rear view mirror and is virtually unnoticeable from outside the car. The only wire I see a around 2 inches of the power cable coming out of the front of the headliner. The new wiring kit costs like $10 for the next install. Installation should run around $50 as it takes 20 minutes to do. My install was done by my dealer's master Lambo tech....I'm sure it was done properly.
txturbo Report post Posted March 4, 2010 I have installed the 9500Ci on my ZR1 and it was a pain in the ass to run all the wires. On the plus side it has a huge radar antenna and is really sensitive. Now escort has a new model that just came out called the QI45 that's designed to be self installed in 45 min. I'll be putting this in my car.. Oh.. It's like $500 bucks as opposed to $1200 for the 9500 putting it on par with a V1 or other great windshield mounted unit. We shall see if it works good. mikestyle Report post Posted March 5, 2010 I just ordered this http://www.escortradar.com/redline-details.php to run alongside my V1. when you say alongside do you mean both in the same car? if you do they will cancel each other out
sprite Report post Posted March 6, 2010 when you say alongside do you mean both in the same car? if you do they will cancel each other out You can run as many radar detectors as you want. They are receivers.

sprite Report post Posted March 6, 2010 OO ya? http://www.guysoflidar.com/twodetectors.html or just Google it Well I've personally never had any problems running two detectors in the same car before. But I guess you are right I was not aware that they would interfere and will be the first to admit I was wrong.
GBGallardo Report post Posted March 6, 2010 I've ran a Passport and V1 side by side as well and never had any issue, in fact, I think they're more accurate together.
