I recommend to stay with 18 no matter what you put on. I would go with the Pzero corsa tire they stick like you cant believe.

They do toss more rocks up. The rocks stick to soft rubber and sling but night and day in the way they hold and feel. It depends on what you want. Looks or performance.

After tslking with Charlie I dont think he is going more for looks. If someone is looking for 18's the one piece versions of the wheels i pictured will be available in 18"

Thanks for your feedback guys. How much faster do the Corsa's wear than the Rosso?

they will wear much quicker...the corsa is a competition tire

treadwear:

rosso= @160

corsa= @60

also dont be caught in the rain with the corsa's or it wont be a nice ending

4xchamp, I appreciate the offer but the all chrom does not look good on my color lambo. I had stock chromes and just overkill with the color.

Decided to go with the Rosso instead of the Corsa tires...Wheel Source in Tempe said that I would be lucky to get 2k miles out of the Corsa's. They are more of a race compound which is great but I really do not feel like buying tires every year.

Jorge, I have decided to go with the Savani 23 in the image I posted on the first page. Did chrome lip, brushed center with black center. They said it will take about 4-5 weeks since we are doing them custom. I will post images once I get them on the car. Thanks for all your help!

I agree , they were on the car when I bought it and people go gaga over them , fortunately the previous owner had the originals in storage . I'm just going to wear 'em out and install the originals which have a few hundred miles .

I've driven many cars before and after wheel swaps , the 19 , 20 and up just don't ride as well as 18s . I feel like they beat the car up , also I don't see race cars running the short sidewall tires .

My buddy wants 5k for the Mayas and tires . I think tires alone are close to 2k if any one has interest I'll put you in contact , he may take an offer .

Those silver 5 spokes are really nice wheels . Good luck !

No problem anytime...post pics when you get them!

Quick heads up Jorge, the D2's on Dave's car did not require a spacer, they are mount and go with a 5" rear lip on a 20x13. 19" is also available for the front if the customer chooses, just wanted to make sure the correct information was available to anyone wondering.

This is the latest LP640 on the D2 CV2 wheel with carbon ceramic brakes and no spacer:

Charlie good luck with the decision, I know it can be tough with so mamy choices available to you.

I guess I wasn't clear.

I wasn't referring to 3 Piece wheels.

As far as I know ADV.1 has the only 20x13 ONE piece wheel that doesn't require spacers on a Murci/LP.

I figured that must have been what you were referring to but I had to make sure that point of clarification was noted, thanks for clearing it up.

Okay guys, I went to get my wheels yesterday at Wheel Specialists in Tempe. I have been working with Darren who has been great to work with....BUT...the front PZero tires were dated on the rubber from 2002. From racing superbikes I know first hand that we do not even consider riding on rubber that has a date older than the current year. Also the rear tires are dated 2007 and 2008.

My question - I told them on the spot to order new rubber for the front bc their is no way I want old, hard rubber tires that have been around longer than my car.

Also, should I tell them that I want all the tires to be 2008 or newer, meaning - replace the 2007 tire in the back as well?

What bugs me even more is that they would even try to push these old tires on me?

Am I wrong in requesting this on the 2007 rear tire?

One of the accounts I work with is Tire Kingdom. If I remember one/two year old tires are not uncommon, even more so on tires that people do not buy a lot of. The dealer orders them, but they are not sure what they will receive. Rears would be fine if stored properly.

Fronts should not have even been mounted on your car.

If you paid for NEW tires you should get NEW tires. That is shady putting that old of a tire on a car let alone the danger that it brings. Replace the fronts are you are and if your not comfortable with the year of the rears you can request it as you did.

Its your money, might as well get what you paid for.....

Also, the rear wheels had TWO stems - one as it should with the steel/metal stem and one on the inside of the rim which you would never be able to reach once mounted that is the typical rubber stem.

WHY would the rims have TWO stems and I thought you were not supposed to have rubber stems on a car that can go 200+ mph? Is this something else that I should be questioning them about?

Well if I am not running TMPS I really do not want the rim to have a rubber valve sticking out correct?

Your going to have 2 holes. Its designed that way so people do not set off codes. There maybe some type of plug or metal stem you can use if your not running the sensors. SOme people tune out the air pressure sensor but not worth the warranty loss for that IMO.

A 2003 murcie does not have tire sensors so I will see if they can put in a steel valve.

There are a few "theories" as to why some wheels have two valve stems. Most cars have an intergrated sensor/valve assembly so only one would be necessary.

Theories I have seen/heard:

-there are two valve in order to bleed the regular air and moisture out of the wheel while simultaneously filling them with nitrogen. You want as little "air" as possible. Target is pure nitrogen. By having two valve stems you can fill and bleed at the same time.

-in racing applications one valve is used to measure air pressure while filling in the stem essentially knocking both tasks out quickly

Regardless I attached a nicer looking suggestion below...flush mount valve stem

Okay, Have you heard of the metal valve stems leaking? How much for the metal flush valve stems?

You can find them on ebay for like $20 shipped. From my experience they haven't leaked. I have read others have had problems. My guess is if they are installed correctly you wont have a problem.

Type in "flush valve stems"

In regards to your tires...if the rears were stored properly you will not have a problem...the front on the other hand is a gamble I wouldnt take.

Does changing the OEM wheels to aftermarket ones ruin the AWD system?

I was told not to put on any aftermarket wheels on my car since the warranty will not cover any damages done to the car by putting them on. I heard that people have had problems after about 5,000 miles on non OEM wheels.
