So I've heard "COUNTACH" pronounced several different ways over the years....

First sylable-

Some say COON (as in RaCOON)

Some say CON (as In CONfidence)

Some say COUN (as in COUNt Dracula)

second sylable

Some say TOSH (as in Raegae artist Peter TOSH)

Some say TAC (as in TACometer)

some say TASH (as in... I cant think of a word that has TASH is it... rhymes with SPLASH)

Or TOC (as in tic-TOC)

Which is the "Correct" pronunciation?

Are you confused with how to pronounce the name ?

What about how they came up with the name ? I have heard at least five different explanations on that one.

  • 2 weeks later...

i was lucky enough to visit the lambo factory in march this year.

the word countash is an old italian expresion for wow or stuning. it was also used to call out to a beutifull woman in the street. A compliment of sorts.

it is said that when the car was first unvailed to the press, and then the general public, people were dum struck / lost for words. Hence the expresion

( COUNTACH ) wow, stuning beutifull..

it is Pronounced as it is writen ( Count ) as in counting money and ( tach ) as English slang for mustach. depending on how taken back the viewer is will determin the length of the word ( COOUUNT- TASH ) this is how it was explained to me by the oldest man i could find in the Lambo factory...

so please no more ( COONS ) OR ( CONS ) OR ( TACS ) OR ( TOSH )

all you have to do is read it as it is writen and then add a little love and some heart felt passion.! :P

sorry you will have to excuse my gramer as i havent slept for nearly two days. dont you just love long haul flights........
