Broken Rear Wishbone

Hi Guys,

I haven't been on here for a while, the Diablo has been tucked away in my garage for ages & i've been using an old 911 to do my running around in.

Anyway .. Took the Diablo out today to blow the dust off & noticed a rather loud creaking noise from the rear right. Jacked it up and the top rear wishbone has completely broken on it's front most leg. All very scary to think I was doing 'perhaps a little' over the speed limit with it like that too, i think i've lost one of my nine lives today !

Has this ever happened to anyone else ? - i've search for wishbone on the forum but can't find anything.

Cheers,

Dave

Scary :icon_eek: , glad you noted it before anything more catastrophic happened. Do you have any pics of the wishbone? Other than the "creaking" any other signs that something was wrong? handling, rear-end behavior?

It actually sounded more like a shock absorber had seized at the time - with a kind of stiff / jammed creaking every time the rear wheel moved upwards / downwards within the arch.

Haven't even taken the wheel off as yet, the broken wishbone was visible by just jacking it up a bit at the rear & looking underneath.

I'll order a new one & post a pic of the failed one when i'm changing it.

ps) 'Did anything feel wrong in the handling etc.' : No, nothing scarily - it felt normal !
