capt_chaos Report post Posted October 24, 2013 A big release by McLaren London tomorrow... Could be Ring times Well, because they knew the huge press release. McLaren just confirmed the acceleration and braking times and the P1 is on the Ring right now as we type. I have multiple people contacting me saying a time somewhere around 6:47 on the 'Ring with more to go. One has even said they just did a 6:39 Maybe the PR email is in my spam folder... capt_chaos Report post Posted October 27, 2013 Well, because they knew the huge press release. McLaren just confirmed the acceleration and braking times and the P1 is on the Ring right now as we type. 0-100 kph, 2.8 seconds. 0-200 kph 6.8 seconds. 0-300 kph 16.5 seconds. Quarter mile in 9.8 seconds at 152 mph Braking is even more crazy 100 kph to 0 in 99 feet 300 kph to 0 in 6.2 seconds and 245 meters. This is a new record as far as I know. The Porsche 911 GT3RS 4.0 and Agera R are in the 6.6 second range I have multiple people contacting me saying a time somewhere around 6:47 on the 'Ring with more to go. One has even said they just did a 6:39 McLaren was doing final damper tuning and calibration http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-new-ca...ap-record-2013/ Porsche has had over a year on the Ring already doing this for the 918. McLaren has been there twice and they're making use of the Ring's unique track properties. This will be an easily retrofitted setting on the cars due to the hydraulic suspension. Essentially just needs to update the software. From the videos it's pretty clear that the car rides a lot less stiffly. A big improvement on the suspension setting in race mode in general. McLaren will not be releasing a Ring time so we will have to put up with the word of someone's internet friends that it did those times.
