alpha6164 Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Besides making the shifts a little quicker does the SPORT button do anything else such as increasing timing, adjusting suspension etc on an LP car?
Modo Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Its just a egear remap as far as I've noticed.
szabo_martin Report post Posted October 29, 2013 I asked a year ago, never got a reply. It feels like the suspension gets stiffer, but theres no documentation anywhere of what it does???

szabo_martin Report post Posted October 29, 2013 When I lookl at the top of the shocks they have a motor on the top with wires going to it.
Modo Report post Posted October 29, 2013 When I lookl at the top of the shocks they have a motor on the top with wires going to it. That's your front lift
szabo_martin Report post Posted October 29, 2013 No front lift is the banjo bolt pressure fitting. The older Murci's had the koni with the buttons on the console, then I think they went to preset settings in sport mode. I would almost bet my life the car rides firmer in sport mode. I have never heard of this, Jefflambo would know for sure.
szabo_martin Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Might just be in my head. It would be cool to finally know what the sport button does, or if its just shift speed
murcivu Report post Posted October 29, 2013 I thought it was just for the shifting points. For the suspension, I would just leave the button in the middle console on auto.

jefflambo Report post Posted October 30, 2013 Sport mode only changes egear ramp. Dose not do any thing with shocks. Koni control pad is used only on early cars.
Modo Report post Posted October 30, 2013 Ok cool, I thought I was going crazy. Thanks as always Jeff.
szabo_martin Report post Posted October 30, 2013 So there we have it, I guess the 05 and up Murci suspension was non adjustable. Never driven an older one, did the controls make a noticeable difference on ride?
szabo_martin Report post Posted October 30, 2013 For Murcivu...we don't have the control pad
murcivu Report post Posted October 31, 2013 Didn't realize only the earlier models have that switch. Mine's an '04.

Basstones Report post Posted October 31, 2013 Any reason why they ditched the adjustable suspension?
szabo_martin Report post Posted October 31, 2013 I'm thinking it was because the shocks were a weak point so they went to a new design. 05-07 they used black Konis then for the LP's they went to a completely new Bilstein setup
Shunolago Report post Posted November 2, 2013 So there we have it, I guess the 05 and up Murci suspension was non adjustable. Never driven an older one, did the controls make a noticeable difference on ride? Its a huge different, you can get it to be really hard but its not driveable on the roads where i live so i just leave it on auto.
