PCJR Report post Posted November 3, 2013 Anyone know what the weight difference is between the Scorpio v1, as used on the 08 Superleggera, and the v2, as used on the 11 Superleggera, is? I Can let you know what the weight of the 570 wheels and tires are and maybe someone can do the same for the 08's.

Ag02M5 Report post Posted November 4, 2013 Not helpful but they are both forged. I am guessing no noticeable difference.
webster132 Report post Posted November 4, 2013 Looks like the many spoke design of the v1 would be heavier than the v2, but I'm curious about just exactly how much. Anyone remember how much lighter these are than the calistos?

Anyone remember how much lighter these are than the calistos? I'm not sure on the exact weight but the calisto wheels are quite heavy. I have the second gen Superleggera wheels and love them. PCJR Report post Posted November 5, 2013 LP 570 factory wheels with brand new Corsa tires - 55 delivery miles only. Did not think to check tire pressure before weighing. Presumably set to factory specs. Fronts - 42LBS Rears - 52 LBS I used a regular home scale, nothing fancy so it might be off but I tenth or two. Hope this helps!! djantlive Report post Posted November 5, 2013 original scorpio is made from magnesium. front is 20lb, rear is 23lbs. source: http://www.another board/vbforum/f1...els-sale-22519/ corsa is 21 and 29 lbs per tire rack. source: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...e&tab=Specs so LP570 wheels are 21 and 23lb per PCJR and tirerack. This means there is probably a pound or less difference. btw, callisto is forged, apollo is casted, 570 wheel is alum, forged. original scorpio is magnesium. go figure... Fortis Report post Posted November 5, 2013 I always thought the 570 SL wheels were the lightest.
djantlive Report post Posted November 5, 2013 Original Scorpius wheel is forged alum, not magnesium. that would explain the weight similarity to the 570 wheel. i happen to look at some OZ wheels on tirerack. they are 2-3 lbs lighter than the scorpius wheels! only $2k for a set of wheels
