kinnsella Report post Posted February 12, 2016 I changed my battery recently with my son and it apparently reset the computer. This year I need to smog my car. The car passes 7 out of 8 tests, the cat sensor is the only one that has not cleared. The O2 sensor is fine. The smog place says, I need to drive it a couple of hundred miles before the CAT sensor clears. Is this correct? Is there a short cut? TIA

djantlive Report post Posted February 12, 2016 There is a smog ready status on obd2. I would get a little scanner to check that before smogging again. Changing battery shouldn't erase the status unless you left the battery disconnected for a long long time
