Destructo Report post Posted December 27, 2017 Anyone know if the tanks are sensors or manual? Could be a wide array of issues from complex to simple. Any other things going on with the dash?
Quadtrac600 Report post Posted December 27, 2017 Anyone know if the tanks are sensors or manual? Could be a wide array of issues from complex to simple. Any other things going on with the dash? No nothing else on the dash, just read full from the first time I had started it. It sat for six months before and can’t recall it reading full had only a quarter tank when stored. Chipster Report post Posted December 27, 2017 Is it full or pegged past full? If it's staying there, then there is likely a grounding issue somewhere. If it's reading full when half but still dropping as fuel is used then you likely have a signal issue.
ExoticCarDriver Report post Posted December 27, 2017 No nothing else on the dash, just read full from the first time I had started it. It sat for six months before and can’t recall it reading full had only a quarter tank when stored. Because it sat for 6 months, I wonder has the fuel gummed up and prevented the fuel gauge from working properly?
rushdriven Report post Posted December 28, 2017 I had the same issue in my previous LP640 after the fuel tank was replaced on the recall. After driving at least 100+ miles it would still read full, then drop a bit. I never really trusted it at 1/4 tank. My current LP640 has had the recall and also seems to read full longer than one would expect.
MrEd Report post Posted December 28, 2017 One of mine would do that - read full for about half a tank. Check to make sure the recall has been done.
LA_Brit Report post Posted December 28, 2017 I had something replaced in my fuel tank when that happened to my LP640 - was a fairly sizable job as they had to remove it to install.

I think I read somewhere that this happened and a fix was to turn the battery power off for a while and then on again, cant hurt to try as many strange things happen through a depleted battery.
