  1. One thing I don't quite understand... Why is a shooting like this national news? Is it just because it happened at a university campus? They don't report that an assault rifle was used, so this isn't really supporting the "ban assault rifles" crowd...
  2. Quick question from a Canadian... One month in jail, one year house arrest, and then "packed your bags for Vegas"? Weren't there any problems with admissibility to the US after an ordeal like this? You don't have to answer if you don't want, but I thought I would ask anyways...I'm genuinely curious.
  3. I don't know what the procedure is here (acceptable or not) for posting about BitTorrent and leaked albums, but Marshal Mathers LP2 is now available for download on Piratebay. Sorry if this violates forum rules, but just posted it for people who want to hear it a few days early... http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/9126894/Emi...rs_LP_2_(2013)_ Stream Online http://www.howflyhiphop.com/2013/10/30/emi...tream-download/
  4. Practically impossible as almost all forms of protein have at least some fat and trace amounts of carbs. But, in the end it probably wouldn't be pretty...
  5. But in general, probably a bad idea. Caveats: Machine estimations are notoriously inaccurate...
  6. That's the thing though - it's not really a black and white issue. There are so many other things to consider (current weight, bf percentage, etc) that you can't really just say, "yes" or "no" And I don't want to get into another long thing here and cause more arguments, so I will just leave it at that...
  7. Probably not a good question to ask, because then sh*t really starts to get real and there really is no answer to that question, what "starvation mode" actually entails, or whether it actually exists. You can have a look at... http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/...lowdown-qa.html Starting about halfway down at "But that’s not the only cause of metabolic slowdown here...." Alternatively, there is a 6 part series that starts here... http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/...tin-part-1.html That has some pretty good information about the big picture. But in the end, it's just opening up another can of worms...
  8. I totally agree with this. If I was just saying stuff and not posting supplemental information to back up what I was saying, it would totally apply to this situation. But, i'm not... If I'm not mistaken, I am the only one who has actually posted any links to any information containing medical studies, etc. I never expected anyone to believe what I say in the first place - that why I started posting links that contain medical citations and what not to back up my statements...
  9. Ok. What did I post that was wrong? I'm all ears...
  10. I know he looks better than me - I am 6'. 180lbs and about 14% bodyfat. If you think that makes me any less qualified to pass on information about nutrition written by people who know more than everyone in this thread combined, then that's your problem. I am not saying things as my own opinion - I am just delivering work done by people who know their stuff.
  11. Yes, he knows a lot, but there are some areas where there is a little misinformation based on the studies I have read. I am not arguing all my information is gospel and absolute, but some of it is. Eg. Your body doesn't need carbohydrates to function. You just don't. Whether it is optimal or not is a totally different issue, but science proves that they are not necessary.
  12. I have no doubts that nobody cares about my presence here. I don't want him to go away either - there is lots of valuable information here. But, there is also a lot of incorrect/maybe not 100% correct information. All I am trying to do is provide some other information (with studies and supplemental to back it up) to give people a full picture. I have no doubt that he probably looks better than 99% of the worlds population. But, just because you walk the walk, that doesn't mean you are the authority on the subject at hand. Just because you drive a Lambo, that doesn't mean you are Balboni. I will calm down, but whatever.
  13. So maybe the "you're a joke" was going a little far, and for that I do apologize. I do get passionate about this kind of stuff as i'm sure you do sometimes as well. These threads always come down to things like this. This one is incredibly tame because it is on a car forum, but on most fitness related forums it just turns into hate, name calling, and overall BS. That's just the nature of the beast - there are so many different ways to reach the same goal, so many people are loyal to their ways, so many people have their own personal experiences, so many different things that work, etc... You are right - if it works for you, that's all thats important. In the grand scheme of things, all these little details have almost no effect on the end result and for 99% of the population, it just confuses them and discourages them from moving ahead to reach their fitness goals. At least people can have a look at a few different points of view, read the information provided, make their own decisions and get in better shape because of it. That is the main goal - stimulate peoples minds, get them eating better, and hitting the gym...
  14. Well then, I guess I'm glad we're having this conversation over the Internet...
  15. You are the one who started the mudslinging with the Can of Soup comments - I was trying to be as civil as possible. If you are going to make comments, at least have some science to back them up. Yes, I saw the pictures of your fitness model wife in your profile. Yes, you must be very proud. I would be too. Unfortunately, having a fitness model wife and visiting a nutritionist once a week doesn't really mean you know your stuff. The fact that you need to go see a nutritionist backs that up - have you actually seen what it takes to get accredited as a nutritionist. If you are going to sling it, you gotta take it too, "Bro" You talk, someone says something different, they provide info to back it up, you continue to talk with no real evidence, and then you have nothing else to say so you stop playing and take your ball home. Im not saying I am 100% right or that you are 100% wrong, but if you want to have a civil argument, lets get some evidence up in here...
