  1. Thanks for this. Great article. The car sounds nuts.
  2. Pulls like a train. Easily launched and hard launches are easily replicated. No worries about all that HP coming down on a delicate clutch. Demonstrates that the car enjoys using all 575 lb.ft of twist. Seems to be much quicker from a stop than the Murcie. Less so from a roll. Haven't tested top end yet so can't comment. Will give more thoughts once it's in my own garage. As my gf said, "Okay, that car looks fuckin' angry."
  3. Thanks guys. I've always owned black vehicles so I figured why break tradition and I went with a 2006, black on black SLR. It has the upgraded leather interior and the painted calipers. In Canuckle dollars, the Brabus wheels and rubber came to 11k. With all the goodies, tax in, it came to around $470,000.00. Hmm, I thought these things were supposed to be a good deal.
  4. I got tired of pissing around so I bought one this weekend. Didn't get silver. I'll post up pictures once the Brabus wheels I ordered come in. Should be a week or two.
  5. PS = Photoshop... as in I Photoshopped the wheels in place of the stock turbines. Location? Probably anywhere in Canada between the months of October and May haha
  6. Thanks, man. I think I am close to the one that I want - silver with porno red interior, Brabus wheels. Here's a PS of the car:
  7. PM sent. Check your Inbox, sir.
  8. Do you (or anyone else) know what MSRP is for the 722? I've never heard a firm number, in USD or CND. EDIT: Looks like the 722 coupe is $480,000 USD (MSRP), plus $2750 destination and delivery charge.
  9. VERY good information. Thank you muchly!
  10. No sir. The one I test drove wasn't silver, and wasn't dark grey.
  11. It's changing hands right now and going to end up in Van, I believe.
  12. I'm in Calgary, home to weird weather, goofy housing prices, and a struggling hockey team. I can't even imagine what your 722 is like. I found the torque curve on the stock SLR very linear, with great power available from all speeds. I'm doing my best to grab one, but the only one available in town isn't even actually available - it's already spoken for. Nonetheless, I shall find the perfect one, I'm certain. This forum has made me nuts thinking about them. What do you know about CND delivery on the convertible SLR? Do you have an idea as to price point? I'm guessing it's a tall number!
  13. Yes, I believe the owner got some aftermarket CF. I was told today it's available for stock SLRs if the buyer so chooses.
  14. I just got back from test driving one. I forgot how crazy the acceleration was. Scary quick. Pulls like a jet. Really tight cockpit. Hood curves downward and travels further out of view, so it's challenging to gauge its true length. Brakes are a bit abrupt until they warm up and you get a feel for them. Full brake feels like the car just slammed into a wall of mud.
  15. From Wikipedia: Car and Driver got a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds at 125 mph. These are during a test session that took place in the late afternoon, when October temperatures were on the decline. C&D suggests the times may be even lower if temperatures were higher. Car and Driver got top gear acceleration 30-50 mph and 50-70 mph times of 1.7 and 2.4 seconds, which are the fastest ever recorded by the magazine in a production car. The SLR also pulled 0.97 g on the skidpad.
  16. Never seen one in that color before. I think it's Obsidian Black... which is actually more dark blue than anything. The rear wheel lip looks out of place, to me. Here's some baller with a white one, and a silver one getting its nuts driven off.
  17. In the past, you've never liked black much for your vehicles, while I've usually always gone black (except my 360 I caved and did red). This time around, you seem to be gravitating to black, while I'm trying to grab a grey one. So I think we will be okay. I just noticed Aram is a Canuckle too. I've been hearing about "some guy" getting his Canadian 722 and lo and behold, it's his. So sweet for him. The car below is the one I'm chasing. I think someone has gotten their meathooks into it already though, since I was riding the fence a week ago, being the indecisive dumbass I am. I think the interior is a bit porn star though, no? Never had a car with a red interior...
  18. Hey Allan, Just wanted to thank you for this forum. A few comments: I frequent this board a ton, several times a day, and mostly lurk. Lately, I've been very interested in your search for an SLR. In Canada here, new fully optioned SLRs, with tax, are close to $600,000. Although steep discounts on lightly used SLRs exist, I've found that they are still coming in around the mid-$400s. I sold my 2003 Murcielago a week ago and have actively been searching for a replacement. My thought was that I was going to pocket some net and move into an unmolested 2002 Murcielago and call it a day. However, after reading your threads amongst other factors, I've decided to make the jump to a new SLR. I'm currently looking for one and will post pictures once it happens. I suspect that it won't be long since I've been whipped up into a frenzy by your posts, and the Photoshops of the car in its various incarnations. Good luck in your search. The vehicle really seems to be tits.
  19. Thanks for pointing me over here Romandad. I've got an 03 Murcie and would like to get my Lambo Owner title back. Cheers.
  20. Ahh yes. What do they call that color? I believe it's in the sample guide as P-SHOP PINK (or in italian Dont-o Have-o The Car-o) isn't it?? Exactly. Pshop Pink.
  21. Haha thanks to all. I debated using my real copilot's picture as my avatar (which I think is just as good!) but figured it might not go over too well with her. So I used a "stock" photo instead. The internet is full of crazy bastards you know lck lck Yeah I post over a F Chat too as I had a 360 amongst other stuff, but figured I now needed something with a bit more punch. I'm almost there... now I just have to lower it a bit and smoke out the rear lights.
