  1. Precisely, I'm more interested in doing HPDEs vs. simple highway acceleration. The response coming out of the corner is much more crisp now.
  2. I did: "Firstly, here are some numbers from the track rental that I pulled. I used a 50-100 pull in third gear only so that there were no outside variables (shifting, etc). I did it on the exact same straight away every time. Before (95-98F) Best 50-100 = 5.44 seconds After (95-98 F) Best 50-100 = 5.38 seconds" I have cat deletes and an loc exhaust + some weight reduction.
  3. According to various Dyno's .. the LP560 actually gained about 60-70awhp over the 06-08 Gs. They are dyno'ing in at 480-500AWHP.
  4. Gustav's videos are like watching Inception .. where, if you dream hard enough, an M5 can beat a Gallardo!
  5. Me and Mike never went at it officially. I was able to match his 8.73 sec 60-130 time once, but for the most part, I always seemed to be about 0.1-0.2 seconds slower. However, the 997TT Tip that I ran in my previous video ran a 9.1 consistently on the same day and event. But in the 997TT race, I also had the ECU tune.
  6. I agree with you completely. Let me have my fun for the rest of the year. I'll start my saving and hopefully something will change over the winter. I agree with Mr. Vroom. Plus it was 90 F which certainly affected the performance. My car is a strong G as well, I'm sure you've watched some of my videos.
  7. Just reposting this from my other thread just in case people don't want to read through the essay I wrote
  8. Introduction The Gallardo is very different from many other tuning platforms on in this industry. The cars range from being extraordinarily slow to being the fastest things on the street. It’s understood that to get the most power, it’s not hard to put down between $30,000 and $120,000 for a tremendous amount of horsepower. Not only are these cars then stupidly fast, but they are also aesthetically pleasing and sound amazing doing it. But in between the slow and the ridiculously quick cars are those who either, cannot justify the cost of adding twin turbos to their car, feel that the power is not necessary, or do a lot of track time where the effect of forced induction would hinder their lap times rather than improve. I somehow fall into all three categories. I love the turbo’d Gallardos, but I’ll be honest, I cannot bring myself to drop $30K+ at a single moment, especially since I’m a very young guy who is already lucky to be able to be in this position at my age. On top of that, I live in an area where, to really be able to drive the car, I have to drive about an hour. My town and surrounding towns do not have the road capacity to even satisfy my current power. Furthermore, I am a big track junkie, I love going to local road courses when there is a private track day or open track day. So throughout the last couple months, I’ve been progressively doing bolt on modifications to my car to satisfy my thirst, but in the process, I justify each modification with in-depth VBox analysis. Recently, my latest modification was my most skeptical. On this board, people have talked about ECU tunes very often, but the conversations always end up null because there is no solid evidence that the tune does anything. Well, I finally bit the bullet. In conjunction with VMax Engineering (http://vmaxengineering.com/ ) (I know not a forum sponsor but allow me this once, they helped me a great deal with this) and Fabspeed Motorsports, I was able to have a lot of testing time with the tune as well as a lot of dyno time. I basically got the EVOMSit ECU tune. Below, you will find my VBox comparisons and dyno graph results. Quick Review I first got the tune put on my car about 3 weeks ago at the EVOMS/Fabspeed NJMP track rental. These guys were extremely generous, allowing me to get complimentary track time to grab before and after VBox numbers as well as a couple sessions just for fun. But needless to say, it was 100 F that day and I was not impressed at all by the tune, at least when I looked at my VBox times. But that’s a whole other section that you’ll find below. I understand to some extent that temperature plays a huge role on performance and it was a terrible feeling knowing that I wouldn’t be able to properly test the tune out until weather cools. Regardless, the two most prominent things I noticed in this 100 F weather, is the immediate throttle response and the raised rev limiter, allowing me to rev that extra 150-200 revs without having to upshift and then downshift immediately after for the next corner. As for the throttle response, it became far crisper. When I come out of a corner and hit the throttle, it sort of rolls into the throttle, not really being instantaneous. But after the tune, I hit the throttle and I feel the car wanting to break loose, it’s a lot more responsive. Which is very good for both roll racing (as you can see I get a lot of jumps because of (a) my awesomeness and ( the throttle response in this tune) and road racing on a track because of this feeling of confidence when you come out of a corner. On the street, the car feels more responsive. I notice from every gear around 4K up, it will jolt hard upon smashing the throttle whereas before, there would be a slight delay and kind of rolls into it. I do a lot of powershifting when it comes to VBOX times and roll racing, so it really helps with the extra couple revs to keep the power in the band after a shift. I’ve also been running a couple cars and it has not disappointed me in these cases, and I hope that it continues to impress me in these roll races. Dyno Footage and Dyno Graph Basically, with a total about 12 runs, we picked up about 30awhp in 90 F weather and humidity. I know that my car can do better than that in optimal conditions than what the dyno told me, so it’s really not a big deal. But the point is, the tune immediately showed about 20-30awhp on the dyno. VBOX Analysis This, to me, is the most important testing ground for any performance mod. I religiously set before and after times for any mod I do and this one has been no different. Dyno #s can be manipulated, but the VBox will not lie to you (unless you are fall out of satellite reception). The biggest problem with these numbers is the weather, it has just been unrealistically hot here in New Jersey lately. Firstly, here are some numbers from the track rental that I pulled. I used a 50-100 pull in third gear only so that there were no outside variables (shifting, etc). I did it on the exact same straight away every time. Before (95-98F) Best 50-100 = 5.44 seconds After (95-98 F) Best 50-100 = 5.38 seconds I know, you’re probably thinking the same thing I thought that day, damn, this tune doesn’t do squat. But then it occurred to me that the computer will pull timing in this weather regardless of tune or not, so seeing that marginal improvement doesn’t constitute that much. Now out on the street, I’ve done tremendous testing as well. Here are the numbers as follows. Previous best pre-tune times (65 F) w/ slight decline (1.5%), half tank of gas, and AC off. 40-70 = 2.33 seconds 40-100 = 5.59 seconds 60-115 = 6.46 seconds (because I didn’t have room to do many 60-130 in post tune) 60-130 = 8.73 seconds Post tune times (93-95 F) w/ slight decline (1.5%), full tank of gas, and AC blowing hard (no homo). 40-70 = 2.34 seconds 40-100 = 5.62 seconds 60-115 = 6.42 seconds Random pre-tune times (65-70 F) w/ flat road, half tank of gas, and AC off 40-70 = 2.42 seconds 40-100 = 5.89 seconds 40-110 = 7.65 seconds Random post tune times (93-95 F) w/ flat road, full tank of gas and AC off 40-70 = 2.45 seconds 40-100 = 5.91 seconds 40-110 = 7.57 seconds The conclusion for this is that, the power is there, because, even in 30 F hotter weather with more weight and AC on, I am pulling roughly the same (and even somewhat faster in the case of 60-115) numbers. Conclusion Would I recommend the EVOMSit Tune for the Gallardo? Yes and No. Yes, if you are obsessive, need that extra bump in power and don't mind paying a little bit, and refuse to spend $30K like me. No if you don't really care much for stuff like this and that it is a little bit pricey. I did get a good price on the tune, but normally, they go for $2950-$3250 depending on your generation Gallardo. But what I do recommend is that if you are in the Northeast and are looking for a good shop to do performance mods on, I highly recommend Fabspeed, they have an AWD dynojet, a lot of very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as a HUGE amount of performance parts for the Gallardo. I sound like a salesman right now, but it's the truth. There are not that many good shops for Lamborghinis in the Northeast and Fabspeed happens to be one of the better shops in the area. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with EVOMS, Fabspeed, and definitely with VMax Engineering.
  9. LOL very true, I am a bully. It's funny though, back in the day I used to read about people saying MB C63 AMGs would rip up G and even watching a video of it on YouTube. So I figured M3 is a little slower than a C63, so by the transitive property, it should be a good race (sources cited from MBWorld)
  10. Hmmm cool. Must've been a serious experience in that car. SERIOUSLY SLOW.
  11. Let me know next time you're in town brotha
  12. I would love to! But you're all the way on the other coast, I wouldn't mind stopping by the shop when I go there though.
  13. Mine had two small screws that have nuts on the other side of the bumper. No sticky stuff on mine ..
  14. I just sanded mine down and shot it with a couple coats of satin black coat. It's been fine for a couple months now.
  15. Thanks. Was shot with a slider (Indislider)
  16. Yes thank you very much. I am shooting with two (2) T2i's. One was on a shoulder rig and the second was on a tripod with a slider. The opening shots were shot with a slider.
  17. 15 bucks + paypal fees to the guy who guesses the driver of that car!
  18. I'm trying to start a small film production company on the side because I like the hobby very much. This is my first official entry to my portfolio. Please watch and let me know what you think. Make sure you watch either 720P or 1080P HD.
  19. I would duct tape her mouth and "hit it, hit it like I can't miss"
