  1. I agree and enjoy reading your threads there. Maybe email GT3 Chuck (he's one of the mods that has always helped me with concerns) and see if anything can be done. Just b/c one person did something, I don't think it's a fair representation of the entire forum. I'd say 6sp and LP are the two most frequently viewed forums from my end.
  2. Vegas - I agree with DJ...I'm on there consistently since I have owned 2 porsches and now looking to make the move into a G, but I have never had a problem. It's probably a misunderstanding...however, it looked to me that some of your threads also suggested you owned a performance shop...so maybe that was why?
  3. Congrats! I also have a Panda and love it!
  4. Roy, I had emailed you in the March timeframe to talk about Gallardos (back when you had 2 yellow 04 Gs for sale, 1 EGEAR, 1 6SP) and I could tell from there you were passionate and just loved Lambos. Now that summer is coming to an end, I am hoping my search for the right car will end with me driving a G I love. I will be reaching out to you again shortly so see what we can do. I hope between you and privately searching, it will net in something sooner than later. Best, Jack
  5. Welcome! I also had a modded 996TT (EVOMS GT700) and am looking for a G now. I think most people would agree they are very solid cars so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, your service advisor sounds like he agrees ;-)
  6. Woops I had mixed up this one and the black 04 6sp on ebay right now which is a 0141 VIN. As for pricing, IMO it's priced much too high if he is looking for $99K...maybe after summer passes things will cool down a bit but back in March I had passed on a 04 6sp (yellow) that was clean w/15k miles and it was $80K...those prices seem to have gone up a bit in the last couple months but I don't really see how it's sustainable. Also, 6sp or not, it's a silver car which typically has had the lowest resale. I'd pay maybe $85K max if it was truly mint...
  7. The car is also an early VIN car, although honestly I have never looked into what potiential issues those had vs. the later VIN cars...so maybe someone else can chime in
  8. I guess the question is, if it's a traffic accident (i.e., the car doesn't get totaled) and now the car has had paintwork/reported accident, etc, how does that work? If a car is worth $100K, and after the accident and has been repaired, is only worth say $85K due to accident history, who would cover the difference?
  9. Guys, as I am searching for a G, I was wondering what would happen if a car like this gets into an accident. Obviously if it gets into a wreck, when it comes time to resell, the value will take a hit. On the other hand, it's not like you can just keep it in the garage to look at! Is there a policy that protects the policy holder in these cases? Thanks
  10. Peter - will you be showing us which G you picked up?
  11. Great to hear everything worked out so smoothly... Andy - enjoy the car once it's back on the road...hope to see it around. I've only been in Dan's 6SP and would be neat to also see how the EGEAR feels. Roy - excellent and quick action...you are def. on my radar as someone to purchase from NY/NJ crowd - it's awesome to see how helpful everyone is (and I can see that on DFC also) and I can't wait to finally find one and join the group. Hoping the "right" car comes along sometime in the Fall. Jack
  12. Hopefully it's a non-issue and kudos to Roy for coming foward and saying he will take care of the customer.
  13. Maybe this one fits the bill...sounds like he's about to trade it in shortly...997TT slightly modded/HREs, TIP... http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/automob...ip-evo-hre.html
  14. I think the F430 would be a sick daily, but one that the G could also do ... so for something that you can daily, not have to worry too much, etc, it's hard to go wrong with a Porsche...
  15. Good that you have it in writing/check. I'd take him to court...at this point, if he is avoiding you, the friendship is over. I had a very similar situtation ($5K also) which I loaned to a very close friend to help him out (voluntary). Once I did it though, I regretted it. Not because I didn't want to help him out, but it was awkward asking for the money when it was late, etc...even though it was MY money. I think I learned my lesson on this as well (and got lucky that I got paid back and all)
  16. The mods look awesome...well done
  17. In theory if a good percentage of people switch the load to Verizon's network, the ATT one should rid itself of issues... Verizon is probably spending the time and money to build their networks to prep for the iPhone at some point (and have had an additional 3-4 years to do this)...I think AT&T was just overwhelmed with the demand and has been playing catch-up the entire time...
  18. QFT... I have an uncle that works on the AT&T networks and it's not that their service isn't good, but it can't handle the volume of data that iPhone users are stressing the network with. I love Verzion, came over to AT&T for the phone, and while the service isn't as good, it's more of an annoyance for the handful of dropped calls I get than anything else. I complain about it when it happens, but it's not often enough for me to hate it. I just re-signed another 2 years for the iPhone 4 until Verizon for sure gets the iPhone...the HTC/BB phones just aren't the same...I tried to like them (and I'm no Appl fanboy...just own the iPhone) Also: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Verizon-iPho...set=&ccode= We wouldn't be surprised if this was Verizon's doing, in an attempt to get people to wait before upgrading to the iPhone 4 and extending their AT&T contracts another two years. The carrier has a history of leaked information during sensitive times for its competitors.
