  1. Can the '08 Super G exhaust be retrofitted to an '04 (non SuperLeggera) with little or no modification? If so, I would love to do that with the valve switch mod. Also - have you seen the Top Gear episode where they were judging best exhaust sound and the Gallardo finished with "meanest" sound?
  2. I have 26k on my '04. The Ferrari of Washington flatbed driver (who returned it from a recall) said mine had the highest miles he had seen on a Lambo. But it's good to know there are many out there with high miles.
  3. you can get OEM Brembo front rotors from an Audi RS6- it is the same disc but has Audi circles logo- it will save you about $300 vs. Lambo part # part # is probably on this site somewhere. I have done this swap and it works fine. and the rear discs have the same part # as an older Viper's front discs, I believe. Better pads will greatly help prevent fade, but do NOT get full race pads as they do not work well at all until you get them up to temperature. EBC bluestuffs are a good hi-performance pad that will not fade with regular heavy street use. I use mine on the street and track. for the absolute best stopping call Carbotech in N. Carolina. but their track pads tend to squeal after a while. Not sure upgrading the rotors to a big brake kit is really going to make a very big difference in braking.
  4. Looking for the black plastic "honeycomb" front left radiator grill. Part # 400807681 to fit an '04 / early Gallardo. I have the mounting hardware, just need the plastic piece. New or used is okay, if in very good condition. I do not check this forum often so pls CALL me at 703.593.4273
  5. I am told the REAR rotors/pads for the early Gallardos also match the FRONT rotors/pads from a Viper. I'm not sure what year Viper or the part #s, but if you do a search they should turn up. They are Brembo parts / fitment specs. I've been able to find pads much more cheaply when searching for Viper and/or RS6 parts.
  6. I had the same idea- change from white to orange to red. And have some of the (diffused) light also show thru the rear plastic grill-work. Can you imagine being behind a Gallardo watching the engine compartment and muffler area "glow" from the inside as the throttle is applied? Could be really awesome- or very cheesey. And you'd need to make sure the lights did not look like /interfere with the brake lights.
  7. Being good or great in drag racing does not necessarily make you any good with car control, and to me I equate good drivers as having good car control. If the driver knows how to launch well and shift fast that's a small part of the equation. I agree with the above. I've seen tons of "modded" high-HP cars where the driver can't do crap on a road course. The driver makes a HUGE difference there. You'd be amazed at what a well-driven Miata can do. Even to a Lambo or Z 06, on a tight course.
  8. in the photo above, the Lambos make the Carrera GT look kinda... awkward.
  9. I'm usually not a fan of "boy-racer" wing add-ons, as they often mess up the lines of a car. But this one looks bad-ass. Great job.
  10. Just remember, one benefit of a long cycle is that your older G will still look "current" - at least to those who don't know every tiny model/styling change. Still lovin' my '04 G!
  11. I guess maybe 2,000 miles? Treadwear seems good for now. Will do one more track day at VIR Grand course on Nov. 15. I did buy them from TireRack. got a whopping $70 rebate from Michelin.
  12. I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports and like them so far. Much better than the Rossas which were on my Gallardo when i bought it. (I chunked the Rossas at Barber and do not recommend them as a track tire). The Super Sports did well at Charlotte Motor Speedway (road/oval configuation). The Super Sports are being marketed as "longer -lasting" super performance tires. We'll see, but so far I am very happy with them.
  13. If the black outlets near the windshield are not functional, I would say NO. I wouldn't pay the extra $$ for that look. It's not bad, just not "necessary". But then, a Gallardo is not "necessary"
  14. Here's a badge, similar to what I would have made. The other alternative is a "Gallardo" badge, possibly underlined with a thin Italian tri-color stripe.
  15. Underground's badges are what gave me the idea. I emailed to ask them who their vendor is. If I can put something together, would anyone be interested in a "group buy"?
