911 has a cult following and a different price point new, having said that I’ve never understood why some of them are as collectible. Speaking of Porsche, I just remembered, I actually forgot to add that the most amount of money I’ve ever lost on a car was on a “collectible” GT4, I think it was about $75k LOL They are hyped at release, they go over RRP in 12 to 16 months when the new egg comes out say good bye to $100k plus, at least that’s how the market is here. They are all money or opportunity losers but we will always buy them because we are diseased LOL

I guess it’s business depended but most businesses have their bread and butter loyal customers who buy without fuss, building a loyal customer base isn’t easy, when you have them the key is to hold on to them for dear life because it doesn’t cost you as much to offer perks as it does to convert new ones. So yes, loyalty gets rewarded and so it should because ultimately the business is dependent on core customers, suppliers, etc. In the car business works the same, I used to buy Audis, one time few years back the model I wanted to buy was at the end of the cycle and I went Benz because their model was at the beginning of the cycle, in the last few years I’ve bought nothing but Benz, nothing against Audi they’ve done nothing to upset me but if I were in their position I would’ve worked harder at customer retention because most, including myself, are a creature of habit, once you jump brands it’s hard to reacquire. I am very happy with Lamborghini, my dealer is truly fantastic so I buy from him without any concerns, our market here is minuscule and we aren’t really impacted as some are in the larger markets but still I believe in rewarding your top customers, I really want a Senna, I’d buy one today but I can not get one because I’ve never bought any of their product, I understand that and it doesn’t upset me, they should go to their loyal customer base, why should they give me one when I’ve haven’t bought as much as a key ring from them ?

You buy what you can get, I am sure you understand the philosophy behind it. Many car companies do it, Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Aston etc. Lamborghini does it also but at a different level and numbers but unfortunately those are just reskinned flagship cars.

As selfish as it might sound these cars should be made in very small numbers and sold to long term repeat customers of the brand in order to show your gratitude towards them and keep them loyal and reward them for their long term patronage, if you want to flood the market with Aventadors do a mini face lift on the S and sell it to everyone. SVJ isn’t a LE, it pretty much cover the whole yearly production run. Locally a SVJ Roadster will be around $1.3m to $1.5m for $1.5m if you had an allocation you could get a Senna, 500 units made, I know which one I’d rather have.

I feel exactly the same considering that 6 months after I take delivery they will have a new car, hybrid, DCT perhaps looking like Terzo Millennio and I will have an old clunker single clutch tranny I really need to drive this thing before I am all in. If they would make 900 in total you’d take a punt but 2000 they will be everywhere like the Performante, locally I believe the number of Performante exceed the number of standard Huracans, or at least it seems that way, the showroom at the moment is full of HP cars, I think I’ve counted 4 or 5 versus 1 standard car, not looking forward to the bath when I am ready to sell my HP LOL

I don’t know who MJ is but statistically due to our numbers here there are lot less potential suckers so my chances are greater I bet you that they will have some very special LE Roadster available just sit tight 😉

I don’t know about other owners but personally I am extremely annoyed by these guys mostly because I’ve lost another layer of privacy, you lose a lot of your privacy once you buy a bright colored exotic but when you get followed and photograph every step of the way you pretty much lose whatever else you’ve got left, so yes they are extremely annoying but at the same time most seem to be true car lovers and now when interest in cars from the younger generation is at an all time low, some even refuse to apply for a driver license, I am not going to lie it’s good to see that interest is still out there even if it is expressed in a form we aren’t really used to. I must admit a lot of these guys are extremely polite, but still annoying LOL Without ethusiasts this industry will die, think of all the soulless dishwashers on wheels which will populate our streets in the very near future, the art of turning gas into goosebumps inducing fun will be long gone and our hobby will die along with it, when I see kids like my 5 year old boy obsessed with cars, being able to tell between a McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo and Porsche just at a glance I am not going to lie it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

If you think about it logically, the A-pillars were an option for the SV, if you get a Roadster you can get carbon roofs, that leaves the rear deck lid in carbon and the wing support, I personally don’t see the value, if it’s only $100k more just to say that yours is the rarest out of 1800 units it might be worth it I guess but otherwise it wouldn’t make much sense to me.

I can get one but I want a Roadster.

Much cheaper than a different kind of beauty which under similar circumstances would’ve taken your house and half of your crap with her few years later
