  1. help - I can't edit the repeat photos out - sorry!
  2. Nice ride and room for a gaggle of hotties! Perfect for you!
  3. please post pics - it sounds awesome...I would love to see it 'under construction'. What color, style, polish?, etc and size/s are you going to do the fuchs wheels? What a fun project!
  4. come on - you must need the space!! I can imagine you have a lot of money in it, and I'll bet it is one phenomenal car!! That is why I want it Is the black one yours? I am a little confused from this thread and the photos? Is it right hand drive? Anyway - you have great taste in fine cars!!
  5. we all agree 930's are such great cars - especially for the dough.... but I would have to say that I LOVE the '73 and earlier cars for their clean styling. I also LOVE the idea of taking all the best of Porsche 911's over the years and combining them into one modern street car. There are a lot of aftermarket companies doing exactly that - especially over in Britain. At least that is what the British borne Porsche magazines are featuring. this car sounds real nice...any interest in trading for my 930 and letting me finish it? I guess I would owe you some money with my 930? lol! Just break it to me gently! 1989! I started one of these conversions but never finished it, the car is sitting in my warehouse, all metal work done, suspension done, engine and trans installation done. Here's what I got: 1989 911 Carrera tub (no sunroof) 1995 993 engine 1989 G-50/50 5 speed 1989 suspension and brakes 1993 993 oil coolers and a/c condensors 1973 front fenders, front and rear bumpers 1973 glass and all chrome moldings. Essentially the best shell, best powertrain and suspension with what most air cooled porsche freaks consider the cleanest body style. The difference between me and this guy is that he finished!
  6. does anyone own one? What is the current value? Are any good buys available? I like them!
  7. nice - CT's KICK ASS!!!! - especially two black side by side
  8. I'm with you there, I took my CT out today and wanted to just plow that gas pedal down - it is such a rush, car is freaking fast!!! It takes all the will power I have to put it away and calm down! Go see the Countach thread - I just posted pictures from today's windy drive around the east shore of Lake Tahoe. I drove fast and avoided cops
  9. photos from today's drive. Perfect day, car performed amazingly - enjoy......
  10. exactly...for just over 20K right now it is a great and stylish car. I did find a beautiful '78 ruf turbo for you? It is at Sloan's cars - he has some very nice cars and very high prices, but this car looks really tasty, and the ruf mods are all pretty fresh. It looks like a great fkin car!! http://www.sloancars.com/vs1/inventory.asp wish I had more throw around dough and room for that particular car - I LOVE BLACK 930's and a ruf coupe in black is as good as it gets. I also am not a fan of cabriolets, the porsche shape that is so 'right' gets ruined on the convertible imho.
  11. I only have experience with factory horsepower and the power has always been very impressive to me. I can only imagine a ruf modified turbo capable of 200 mph SAFELY!! My understanding is that a low mileage ruf is a great way to go. The high mileage ruf cars are beat to hell when driven at power for years. I once test drove a beautiful slant nose full ruf 930 originally owned by Jack Clark from ML baseball. It was a spectacular charcoal gray/black and a very fast car. No 930 compares to any CT!!!
  12. nsxer - I am with you on the 930's - the first generation cars...1975/76 - 1989 are the best value collectible 'super' car out there when you factor in EVERYTHING!! I toiled with early Alfa's, but no offense, they are like fragile (albeit pretty) little toys next to a 930. I love the race car styling...flares...tail...in your face !!! I love the drive, car accelerates like no other and feels so effortless doing so!
  13. Hey nsxer - take this over to the 'other cars' thread - I conversed a lot over there BEFORE I acquired the 930 - the title is one I started about 'investing' in a driver - see you over there.
  14. nice nsxer - I remember seeing your 930 stacked up in your 'line-up' a while back. Mine actually does not have the sport seats, first 930 I've owned without. Are you pleased with your '86? I don't really know how the P-afficionado view the '86 model? I found the car in Sacramento (nice and easy to go see and pick up). I was pleasantly surprised at how overall nice it is, and equally excited about how nice it will be with minimal investment after I sort it all out. nsxer - right away I have fairly scuffed up Fuchs (both rears have some curb scraping that I would like to address). I have already looked at wheel enhancement, Weidman's in Oroville, CA....etc. Everyone can re-finish to new, but I would then have front's with original patina on the silver and black and too new a look on the same of the rears. It really needs only touching up of the outer lip - any ideas? What is the mileage on your car? The ONLY negative to mine is the 91K+ miles - kinda high on a 930, BUT - this car just completed a $5,000. service to address ALL mechanical issues - it drives beautifully and EVERYTHING works. The cosmetic issues are very minor and I will enjoy working on its 'look'. We are not alone in our passion for CT's and 930's - I think there are other CT owners with 930's?
  15. ferrari and michelotti stylng exercise come to mind - am I warm?
  16. A lot of Tahoe friends are buying up AZ near you. Everyone likes the year round 80 degree life. AZ in the winter and Tahoe in the summer. Not a bad way to go!
  17. Tahoe is amazing in the summer. I moved here 15 years ago as an avid skiier and stayed for the summers. With all this global warming and catastropic weather, I am thinking there are going to be some real heat waves this summer. Places like Tahoe are really nice escapes from California valleys and even high desert valleys of Nevada. Maximum summer temperature is high 80's and usually consistently 80 degrees or so all summer.
  18. exactly....lag up to 3,000 - 3,500 rpms and then woosh. A fair amount of people get in trouble on freeways looking back over thier shoulders as they accelertate to pass and overshoot their entry back in and almost run into cars in front of them as the turbo winds up and shoots them back in their seats. I just think they are a race car in luxurious drag to drive, handling, comfort visibility, balance, all feels so right to me. I have a lot of detailing to do on the Porsche, but it will clean up real nice. I'll post pictures after I have obsessed over it for a while, but not till after summer, I plan to drive it and enjoy the great weather in it. The house is a friends in Tahoe. My home underwent a (broken pipe related) flood and will be back together in another month or so. I only have a two car garage and will be finishing it pretty nice to house the two red babes! I'll send photos. The Range Rover will have to stay outside for now
  19. :iamwithstupid:I love the yellow car!
  20. Finally some photo of my new baby, parked next to my favorite baby!!! The 930 is exceptional and original, but I can't wait to detail and sort everything out - will be a fall project. Range Rover is my driver - a '98 that I just powder coated the original wheels, added oversized all-terrain ta's, heavy duty springs for max. factory ride height and Bilstein shocks to replace the problematic air suspensiion system. Love my rides...enjoy the photos...
  21. okay finally here are photos of my CT under it's new cover. I tried to take close ups so you could see the fabric and stitching. I know it's only a car cover and it's a bit more expensive than most of the others, but if you want something special - this is it. My CT is total show quality, and now has a 'show' cover. You can also see the newly acquired '86 red/black 930. It needs a fair amount of detailing and sorting, but is exceptionally clean and original just as it sits. The '98 Range Rover is my driver, just powder coated the original wheels, added oversized all-terrain ta's, heavy duty springs raised the car to maximum factory ride height, and it now rides on Bilstein shocks (this all replaced the problematic air suspension system) I love my rides - completely sicko over cars.....enjoy the photos I may send a few messages to get them all in - sorry.
  22. back in March I ordered a custom cover for my CT originally from an ad I read in Hemmings. The fellow I contacted is based in Toronto and has the exclusive rights to distribute custom cut covers from the company in Italy currently contracted to make the new covers for the new model Lambo's - mine comes complete with a beatifully embossed bull logo in gold stitching on a sheen black cover. It is spectacular - needed to be - it is covering my CT!! Anyway I waited a lot longer than I wanted (seller claims to have switched customs agents and the changeover cost time) - so to be fair he scores poorly on time, but the cover is worth the wait. I need to shoot some photos of the car covered for everyone to see what they think. Apparently he has 4 more currently in stock - act fast or perhaps you will have to wait a while like I did. Here is the link to an e-bay ad he ran for one a while back http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lamborghini...sspagenameZWDVW Here is the link to his e-mail [email protected] wanted to report I just put the cover on my car and believe me when I tell you this cover is REALLY nice. It fits very snug, kind of stretchy material, mirror pockets are like gloves, kind of sheen black color - spectacular I know it's only a freakin car cover! I get kinda kooky when I find something just right.....photos coming - I need freakin help with photos and the internet still. I recently acquired a guardsman red/black '86 930 that is really sweet. It is parked next to the CT - also red/black and '86. I can't resist early generation 930's to drive regularly, just always feels like a 'race car'
