  1. My guess is Jonah has the fastest 670 out there. When someone who has yet to do anything in this area goes around saying he is going to reset every record, it pisses you off. You have one guy that has done something and one that has done nothing but claim he is going to do the impossible. I don't think the stakes of 25-75k are unreasonable. Ive done a lot of grudge racing, owned a dragstrip where 5-10k races were common. In that world what he is asking for isn't out of line. Should he have called a guy out a guy who doesn't even have a running car yet? Probably not. Then again, if you don't have a finished car you shouldn't be running your mouth about what records you will be breaking.
  2. I hope the guy that bought my gts runs some of these guys. Once I pick up the white viper I will see if Kevin will bring out one of his ugr cars to play
  3. Racing isn't about power as much as it applying it. These builds are making more than enough power. Rather than focus on power development, I would focus on hooking this thing up. Countless cars make stupid power and few will ever hook that power to the ground. In 99% of applications, a lower Hp car will eat a higher hp car due to this. There is a reason these super powered cars all want to do roll racing from 60-70mph+. They have cars that are well beyond the driver and they have no clue how to hook the car up from a dig. They just want to get to the upper gears and eventually let the power take over. Once over 1200hp traction, driveline strength and aero are your bigger issues. Not more power.
  4. A 350z with a big mouth grill? No. As mentioned, in this price range much better options.
  5. It is a waste of money. Let the sports regulate themselves, we don't need our tax dollars wasted on sports investigation. Every time an athlete pops a test, he instantly blames some 'supplement'. Ever notice none of those guys ever file lawsuits against those various supplement companies after the media dies down? My favorite case was a baseball player that blamed an anti-estrogen for his failed test. Something you could purchase OTC. The product was originally sold and taken by people who were coming OFF drugs in order to get their natural test production back up. Guy fails and test and is taking this product, geeeee wonder what he was doing. I've had extensive involvement with our government on the topic of sports supplements and steroids. It is mind blowing how ignorant they are.
  6. How many video's of 9 second super cars are out there? Take that number and compare to number of builds and it is obviously harder than one thinks. Throw out vipers as they are the most drag racing friendly platform.
  7. Actually, I can do it on 20" street tires . Hell, I drove to the track, went 5.80's (1/8th) and that was just on 17lbs of boost. Was 3850lb's that day. The white car is getting Motec right now, so I plan on running 8.90's on an invo, with the top down . For proof: I had a 1.43 60' time on the invo.
  8. I'm new to this board, so I apologize for my ignorance. Have you ever been low 9's in anything? I'm assuming since you are doing the mile you will be adding a cage of some sort? If low 9's were easy and just a by product of power, everyone would run them. Plenty of cars with power too, but never that easy.
  9. Having raced my entire life, I wish you luck. I'm with the others on this however. That is one heavy bastard to make go. Ignoring the 1-2 gear issues and expecting to be at the top of those boards is a huge mistake. Unless you are going to be the first car to cut 1.90 60' times and run low 9's. I don't see how you are going to get past the tires issues. I owned a drag strip for a few years. Countless guys with monster power coming up and blowing tires off constantly, especially with turbo cars. As soon as these cars start hooking hard, I.e. 1.30 60's, there are going to be parts everywhere.
  10. I have joked about letting all the vca members buy up the first year model. Let them wax it 20 times, change oil 5x, drive it to cruise ins and put 1k miles on it. Then buy it for 40k less lol. So many of tho dudes treat the car like it is fragile. I it does come out at 130ish, wonder what it will do to old prices.
  11. Is your goal to drag race? Texas mile? 60-130 record? Three very different goals. You are saying you are going to set the world on fire, but where? A lambo isn't going to fare well at the drag strip, especially against a viper. Hitting 250 in the milie is incredibly difficult and has a lot to do with non power based issues. Good luck, but my money would be on ugr.
  12. I have had two tt vipers. When this new one comes out, if ugr is willing to tt it, I will get it. Some people, especially with American brands, are brand loyal. I'm one of those. While I would love to own a lambo, I've never owned a non mopar car, not sure I could do it lol.
  13. I've refused going for a ride in one as I don't want the urge to buy one. I've had 2 UGR TT vipers, sold one. One of these days I'm going to break down and get a TTG. Cars look great. When I pick my car up from getting Motec in the coming weeks, I'm going to have to resist getting in one of these G's
