Mako Report post Posted December 18, 2005 Will be a more and more frequent occurance as Chevy delivers them into some very inexperienced hands in the coming months. Lot to handle when the TCS is off, that car is essentially as fast as a Ford GT.

HIGHROLLER85 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I don't think it is a responsible thing for Chevy to make a car that goes that fast for a low price. unexperianced hotheads will drive them like lunatics on crowded roads and innocent lives will be lost unfortunatly. I think most people who own Ferraris and Lambos are so careful about not geting a dent on their cars that they probably don't go driving them like lunatics most of the time. Here in yonkers I saw a yellow SRT 10 going up central avenue one day on the other side of the road. When I came back down central avenue in the other direction I saw that the SRT 10 plowed into a Merceds in a pretty bad accident. Keep in mind that that was the only SRT 10 I ever saw on the street. I see a lot more Zo6s and I predict I will see a lot more accidents like this when the new one is released.

It really began that whole "too much HP with too little experience" crash trend, in fact it's not that easy to find one more than a few years old without damage. Ten years ago when I worked in the golf industry as a rep for a carbon-fiber shaft mfg, I took a ride in a then-new Viper RT/10, owned by one of PING golf's founders, John Solheim. So we go cruising through his high-end neighborhood, residential, when he decides to get on it. Car instantly snaps sideways, he loses it, it does a 180 and comes to a stop in the middle of the street. I laughed out loud and said "John, you're ready for the Indy 500 buddy." He was white as a ghost, and didn't respond. We drove the car back to his house, he gets out, and that was that. He sold the car two weeks later.
