Unusual LP400 Question

As I am putting an LP400 as my wallpaper, I'm staring.

Can the body and wheels of a LP400S/LP5000S be converted to a LP400?

Or are the arches cut up for the flares.

It's just that I like the 400 look better than the S, period.

there was a suspension redesign from lp400 to lp400s to accomodate the larger wheels. Maybe the skinny lp400 wheels would look inset unless the drastic measures were taken. I like the clean look of the lp400 also, and I really like the interior the best. The skinny wheels detract alot for me though.

well if some LP400's were converted to LP400S then surely the reverse can be done although the cost would be prohibitive I imagine

also the value of the car would go down

I thought the suspension is the same just the geometry is different.

Damn I should know that.

The Lp400 has a single link at the frame vs. the parallel links of all the "S" models. This change was to allow additional adjustment of the P7 tires to run correctly. Also the single link could potentially be overloaded with the wide wheel configuration.

If I owned an LP400 that had the wide wheels added I would watch the frame closely at that point.

as much as i love the LP, i think this would be a bad idea

S1 are rare and appealing, a S1 converted is no more an original car and will

lose big part of its value (even if the S1 is the best car for a conversion since it is soooo similar, the interior is the same beside the hand brake, body to beside the periscope roof)

in the end you will spend a lot of money for wheels, suspension, tyres, brakes... and your car will be a sort of " ibryd " worth less then a regular S1

completely agree with Emilio here

I was lucky enough to have found an LP400 but I still love the LP400S S1 - the next best Countach IMO (and I even had a QV so this says a lot)

keep the car original
