jpohl402 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 After I showed it to him on Phantom Coupe, friend of mine loved it & decided he must have something very similar..... Any ideas on how to aftermarket install the fiber optic lights (10K option from R-R....) Or where to purchase accessories ? Thanks in advance
Saleenfan Report post Posted May 12, 2009 I dont know how the rolls one is done but typically star drops for theater applications are done with fiber optic cables and dividing individual strands up to create the "Star" effect much like those old flashlight thingies we played with as a kid. Except with these the ends poke through a cloth of some sort in different spots to create a "star". you could probably jerry rig one fairly easily but for somthing legit I know it gets very pricey to be able to have a lamp powerfull enough to light a really long strand (in high school our star drop was 80feet wide and ran over 60 grand a lamp and it had 3). Heres the same effect for a house http://trinorthlighting.com/Store/index.ph...roducts_id=1044

ben Report post Posted May 15, 2009 The roof of my Phantom has perforations. For taking the roof out and stringing each fiber cable in place to 200 or so lights probably would take a day to do. Hook a switch to it and call it a day! I'd just wire each fiber strand to the perforations I wanted at random to give the star effect.
